Wow , I was spot on , I said 175K for a guess on my earlier video . Way out of my league to purchase , but I can’t wait to see em live and in person! Thanks for the update Rick , much appreciated.
Totally agree. I will always buy GM, but it is so hard to get decent service. Vehicles became more technology advanced, but the techs remain on the same level as a 1990 chevy truck. My wife's 2025 XT6 had a software problem on the instrument cluster. I asked the tech to reflash it. He did not do it. I had to do it myself with my own MDI 2 box. Cost me $50 just to download the file, but it's fixed. Can you imagine having a ZR1 problem???? I don't know where I would take it. Coughlin I guess.
I was just saying to myself wait a minute I just watch a Rick Conti Video and it's another upload you sir are a very busy informative up to date C8 ZR1 guru.
💯 Agree! The amount you learn at Spring Mountain is unmatched. There will no doubt be buyers that have no idea what kind of trouble you can get into with that much power on tap!
Another thing that would be really nice, even if just as an option for the ZR1, would be a world class audio system. The Bose offering is ok at best, but is definitely not up to the level of what is available elsewhere, and at this price point, it should be!
Thanks Rick foe the info! What an amazing achievement that GM accomplished by building this car! They absolutely have to fix the supply issues for the options they offer. If they can't deliver an option, don't offer it.
Thank you for your steadfast dedication to keeping us informed on all things Corvette. The ZR1 is to rich for this C7 boy but I am glad that there are those enthusiasts out there that will be able to enjoy this fine car.....one day.
Chevrolet has an opportunity on the Zora. With the ZA-D levels package coding. Zora Arkus-Duntov. Maybe they’ll let me drive one just for the idea lol.
All of the pricing from Chevy is awesome this is so characteristic of Chevy. The automotive world will be abuzz and everyone will want this car. The only issue is if you can't get the car because of constraints what difference does it make?
Hi Rick, with regards to your comment about taking the Ron Fellows course, I'd love to. But, they STILL are not offering it for us E-Ray owners. A bit disappointing. Hopefully Chevrolet will extend the discounted course fee. I would guess that the low supply of cars is the issue.
Great job Ricky, breaking news for sure..! Yeah, I totally agree with you, guys like me that order my C8's fully loaded, I am looking at closer to $250k (3LZ & w/CF wheel option & Level-2 & ZTK, etc.) easily here for my ZR1 build-spec.
It’s interesting since the instructors at Ron fellows mentioned the owners of the ZR1 were some of the slowest around a track. Interesting on how they are gonna do the owners school for ZR1 given the performance
The price is excellent for what you are getting and what cars it can compete against at double or triple the price. Rick keep up the great videos and information coming.
Thanks for the update. I get that 1,064hp is a lot of power for a stock car. Think about how easy it is to get 1,500hp+ in a car today that was not designed for that amount of power. I agree that it’s not a car for everyone, but neither was the C7 Z06. With the torque management built into the ZR1, it should be a much more manageable car. Of course you have to use good judgment, understand and respect what you have. This is the car I’ve been waiting for. Just have to wait my turn. Wonder how long before the Zoro will become available?
Thanks for the update, price is about what I expected, nicely speced 3ZR😉 probably $210 ish, my spec will be (in theory) 3ZR, coupe ( that split window is so HOT), 2 tone blue interior, exterior still TBD, definitely those blue stripe and blue wheels and calipers, carbon flash low rear spoiler or carbon fiber if that’s the way it comes? One thing I am not clear on is brakes, are the ceramic brakes STD like Eray? I will get one probably not a 2025 (availability?) but as soon as I can, I am 67 yo, if I have to wait a year or 2 so be it, I have other cars to fill the void. Thank again for the information.
Looks like I’d be looking at $250k 😳. Well a man can dream big. I can say I never thought I ever own my Z06. Who knows what can happen in the future. But I do have a beast of a car to play with now 😎. I’m like a kid waiting for school bus every time the UPS comes by waiting on my glass top. 🤪 Thanks Rick for the info.
Rick, I cannot agree more on the need for people to take a professional driving course for these cars and many others as well, Z06, GT500, etc. Learn to treat the cars correctly and with respect to others.
I hope Gm doesnt drop the ball with this. Please no constraints. Such a beast. Cant wait for my order to go in . Thanks for the great information Ricky. Appreciate it
$174,995 starting price for the coupe? No longer can the "workin man" even hope to own one of these cars even without the ADM'S that the dealers will surely add on
I am waiting on a possible purchase of an all Black Convertible Z06 -- as fast as I will ever really drive -- and just not worth waiting for the ZR1... And I plan to add a stripe very similar to your photo image, in tne same color as the ZR1 engine cover, plus the matching blueish alloy wheels... Maybe I will just buy a "High Wing" from ACS or Paragon... A Z06 convertible will give me as much performance as I will ever use... I was thinking of the Hysteria Purple... but it seems like that is going to be the color for a LOT of other C8's And I have already located a black on Black '24 Z06 Convertible nearby that has less than 1,000 miles... I just need to add the stripe, and change the wheels... If I go "Stupid obsessed" I will just have someone add the Magnuson Supercharger.. 850HP or so WILL Definitely be plenty fast for me...
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF EACH CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP WOULD GET A ZR1. If that would happen, I’m supposed to be #1 on the list for the ZR1 at my local Dealership where I purchased my 2022 2LZ. LOL. The Dealership is supposed to be sold at MSRP. That too would be FANTASTIC!!!
Correct, Rick showed us the handy sales “price walk tool” that will show perspective buyers that paying the additional $100+ dealer markup, is a good thing and how lucky you are to not paying up to $600k for this car . I can see why dealers are excited about the price, as it will help maximize the additional profit every one of these cars will generate. Rick still has not told us how his dealership will price this car. I am sure it will be a private bid process, behind closed doors, with the owner to shield the sales person with a non disclosure agreement in place. The new reality, I will stick with my 24 Z06.
Im in Cali and I worry about the service on a new Corvette. Theyre so worried about getting over instead of just doing their job. Im not even considering an E-Ray which is my dream car. We do have a huge dealership in downtown, if its still there after the fires I'll go there
Special price for a special car! I agree that ZR1 owners should be required to take the Ron Fellows class! That’s such a powerful car! I am ready to see one in person ! Thanks again Rick for great and timely information!
seats for thin people, that I believe was a attempt to get the younger generation in a corvette ? I also am a manual shifter guy, and not to offer them is something I don’t like? Thoughts?.???
@rodneypratt4324 What Corvette lovers know is that there is a $7k difference in the C8 2LT coupe vs. corvertible price - not the $11k you see here. Every C8 fan knows that fact and now you do as well.
Right, $175K to start, then add the dealer mark up of $100k to $150k or more to EVERY limited unit produced and your party just got rained on ! Start thinking about the reality of $275 to $325 to start. Rick , how will your dealership handle the pricing? MSRP or just a little markup? The big announcement will be the dealers that will be selling at list price…….good luck with that ….think friends, family and investors that will be bidding on this car with the average Joe shut out.
@dontadeshun Corvette used to be everyman's car. Now it's for TH-camrs and crypto millionaires. Spec'd out C7 ZR1 was 180k. You're getting into used exotic pricing. Where you got the wow factor. Rather take 250k and buy a Huracan with low miles and still have money left over to buy some XRP. 1000hp... Where you going to use it. Most of these cars will be kept in a garage, polished and talked about but never driven to their potential.
Your absolutely right it should 1ZR & 3ZR. But why do keep asking why does Chevrolet keep doing stuff like that. The answer is very simple & it starts at the top with a no car Acumen CEO Mary Barra who has made all the new management position appointments throughout GM. Do you actually think Tadge would have retired if she had left Corvette engineering in charge of the Corvette family? You know you are supposed to be the tell it like it is Dude.
When you offer too many configurations, gadgets, options, etc, you will always have shortages/availability issues. Offer more colors etc but they need to dial back the things you can add and make it standard on the trim level as appropriate so they can build them easier. Chevy has done this across all cars forever, they will never learn.
Z06 remains a great deal …. Unless a ZR1 drops on my lap I think the Z06 is still my choice… plenty speed and imo it sounds better which I don’t like paying more for worse sound …
Thanks Rick for always keeping us up to date!! You are the best!
Wow , I was spot on , I said 175K for a guess on my earlier video . Way out of my league to purchase , but I can’t wait to see em live and in person! Thanks for the update Rick , much appreciated.
Great price for a super car but Chevrolet has to get premier service because it is unsatisfactory to have $200k car and get a Chevy Cruz as a loaner
Hey, it's probably an RS though😂

Should have given the Corvette to Cadillac.

Good work Rick, you were correct about ZTK!
Thanks buddy
Can’t wait to have you on Octane Hour next month! It will be epic! 👍😊🙌
You need to take the Ron Fellows Course for any Corvette owner.
Excellent summary!! 495 hp enough for me but I love the fact that Corvette is kicking those other super cars’ butts!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I was spot on with my guess at $174,995👍
Love how you tied in the Mustang drivers!🤩🤣
I had to...don't hate me....🤣🤣🤣
Another thing that would be really nice, even if just as an option for the ZR1, would be a world class audio system. The Bose offering is ok at best, but is definitely not up to the level of what is available elsewhere, and at this price point, it should be!
Thank you, Rick! There should be a training course for ZR1 before they take delivery and maybe a grading system.
100% agree with you about taking the Spring Mountain course! Must do! Wife is going to do the Eray class!
Thanks Rick foe the info! What an amazing achievement that GM accomplished by building this car! They absolutely have to fix the supply issues for the options they offer. If they can't deliver an option, don't offer it.
Rick
Thank you for saying about the ZR1 driving school I totally agree!!!! 😊

Ron Follows was Awesome! Highly recommend it . Makes you a much better driver!
Glad I got all the Carbon Fiber options I wanted on my Eray. Thank you. ❤
Yes, that packaging of trims even has an effect on E-RAY when you look for the ZO6 online for sale!
Great Job Ricky
Way to crank the info out Rick! More excitment!
God damn! I was 5k off. I was thinking 169,999 base price.
😂 now let's see those 50-100k addendums!

Big news! Great stuff!

I'm afraid the ZR1 will say Hold my beer.

Those numbers mean nothing, dealer markup will make it unreachable for most

🤣🤣🤣I don’t know man I’ll come up with something 👊👊👊
How do I get an allocation for the ZR1???
175,000 starting price is a good deal I must admit I was looking for an excellent base price of 160,000.
Does the longer, possible multiple years mean that the C8 will still last into 2026..?
Or will the model change be styled into the C9...?

Sounds like 250k for my spec. Kind of disappointed with that pricing. Some of this stuff is not that much to manufacture. Huge markup....
