The ironic thing about this kind of music is the inspiration for it comes from an age where the ability to discover and share it on a global level was impossible. The Internet is probably the greatest invention ever.
Listened to this while driving on a snowy night in Canada. The road was empty, the powder fell softly, and the fields around the road were white and clean.
This is the the type of synthwave that totally stands out. Its not like the majority of the synthwave artists out there and not that they are bad or anything, it’s just Lazerhawk sure knows how to put a song together.
I still sport a cassette player when i run. Someone once asked me why I listen to cassettes. I told him it had some amazing quality. The guy laughed and started explaining quality. I responded with telling him how the cassette has the same quality as when it first came out, and it makes me feel like I'm still in the 80's. :)
I know what you mean, have a Blizzard of Ozz cassette and it sounds better than the CD Same thing with Back in Black album but my idiot friend left it on his dashboard and the Sun warped it! Needless to say , he's not my friend anymore. Not just because of that.
Recorded from FLAC onto metal cassettes with Dolby S noise reduction actually sounds better than a CD. Unfortunately metal cassettes are rare as hen's teeth nowadays.
Watching and listening to this on an early 80s television, hearing it through the mono speaker, with the blocky remote in your hand, is something anyone listening to this song should experience..
I grew up in the 80's! I remember banana-seat bicycles, Garfield, and skateboarding & tennis being really popular. The family car was a 1973 Ford Country Squire station wagon, that was about 25 feet long. In the very rear, it had two fold-up bench seats that faced each other. My brother and I used to make faces at drivers behind us. My Dad called it the "B-73", while his old college buddy referred to it as the "Stinkin' Lincoln", as it had a 429 cubic inch V-8 engine. Those were the days!
I love the almost electric sensation of both goosebumps and nostalgia I get when I listen to songs like this. It's a song from the past that somehow didn't exist but somehow does
The reason we love these tunes so much is that hypnotic synth was what we heard through our mums bellies when we were in the womb.In fact I'M SURE MY AMBILICAL cord came out with an NES pad on the end!! Why did life never get better than the 80's? Youth since mid 90's have no identity nervously playing with phones that they're reliant on because they're not strong enough to resist advertising and have a sheep mentality. Now give me some more of that keyboard :)
i remember my first walkman. my parents bought it for me so they didnt have to constantly hear my music! lol i miss the days when music was the soundtrack to your life! now its more of a trip to my past.
Man, 80's rocked SO HARD! I wish I were born even earlier, so I could've enjoyed that decade properly. Was just a kid back then, not appreciating how awesome everything was. Films being positive, and having an actual message (not even gonna mention all the really disturbing cartoons for "kids" today), the full development of new wave, darkwave etc. synthpop, and the world, on average, not being so grumpy. Someone take me back, NOW!!! Luv Lazerhawk for impersonating that so well. Great vid btw!
Then the signal travels all over the world through air, through space, through water. The signals. (At 01:23), the signal reaches the dude's friends. All of his friends will then take their vehicles, each one more awesome than the other. Then far from the horizon in front of the rising sun (at 01:56), the dude sees his friends coming to his help and the cops are helpless.
All this retro stuff is frankly better than the stuff it celebrates. I challenge anyone to post anything actually from the 80s which is anywhere near as good as Com Truise.
12 years later and this is Retro Retro
Retro new retro*
Yeah, kinda interesting how that works.

This is probably my favorite song from Lazerhawk. That signal tone or whatever it is just makes it epic.
Well, the whole Redline album is just brilliant.

In most cases they dont hold up very well. But if you make them last thats great for you.
blah, someone sporting with a walkman is a pretentious asshole.
Something about this track really sets the mood for the 80's. It puts me in such a relaxing trance :)
Who's is here in 2022? This song and theme is immortal 🤘
✌️✌️✌️
Can't get tired of it
This is from 2011. Lazerhawk brought back some awesome synth music so early
This album is actually from early 2010 and even if you look at lazerhaw's my space, there where a few demos as early as 2009 i think.
All this time I was sure Lazerhawk was some 80's artist. Good times are finally back!
Bluntman 007 Have you heard Waveshaper? He's maxing also. modern day genius.
The nostalgia hurts

I like this so much ! I like that girl at the beginning ! I like the pure smile of the people in the video, so bright !
it was so different back then...
I want 1:57 - 2:47 to last forever
