tbh, it's kinda the opposite for me. I actually played wuwa until 1.1 or 1.2 and quit because of the story. I started to feel like the story wasn't for me, all this romance / loveydovey stuff wasn't doing it for me. And people on WuWa reddit are starting to point out its repetitiveness, too. I actually like the story from closed beta more, just needed some polishing, but they overcorrected. It's kinda hard to take it seriously due to trying to drop hints of romance every like 5 minutes or so, and I'm a lore player. Moreover, though the combat does have its benefits in its reactiveness and being fast paced, I feel like it... lacks depth? it's just rather uninspiring in a way that seems like it's easy to have powercreep, not that I care much, but I wish there was a bit more variety or something like Genshin's elemental reaction system. For what it's worth I was informed of Rinascita teaser and they look MUCH better, doesn't look like bait or anything. If the story suddenly gets much better and none of whatever 1.3 or 1.4 was, then I might consider coming back properly. IMO 1.2 WuWa was the best because there was no glazing, it was more normal, and there was a dark theme for a festival thing, even if it was relatively minor, there was some seriousness to it which I appreciate. I tried to like the game overall, but I couldn't vibe with it. If anything, ironically enough it made me go play Genshin more and relax in it.
I'd say, ironically enough, it actually made me play Genshin some more. I tried to like the game, but I couldn't really get into it. It has no performance issues though or at least didn't have any for me. It just didn't give me the same fun or marvel I had playing Genshin. EDIT: Also, I've noticed in a previous video, that people actually seemed so p*ssed off that Dawei was 'crying tears' about Genshin while explaining the troubles they faced and having to listen to real traveler opinions. I actually appreciate that they went asking to IRL players, and visiting their houses, and asking why they stopped played, but it seems that they omitted that part and people were mocking it. I think it's a really weird behavior to be making fun of someone who's 'crying tears' over running into difficulties during the game's success. Like... it ain't some edgy cool shit it just makes you look like a weird guy. You can be indifferent or don't care for whatever it is, but if it bothers you so much or it makes you laugh, it sure doesn't feel like a normal reaction to me.
Wuwa isn't really as big of a step up from genshin as it could have been. It feels more like what genshin should have been while wuwa combat should have been at least on ToF level to really overshadow the competition.

Today I can't see myself going back to this game and enjoying it... you know what was sad ? none of my friend play wuwa, so i just stick with genshin. cuz no matter how bad it is, i still prefer to play gacha game together rather than alone. if only wuwa was made by hoyo, maybe this will differ, or wuwa released first than genshin.
Im currently playing both the games, and the grind and exploration mechanics are indeed better in wuwa but im liking genshins explorarion as a whole more. I think wuwa doesnt have experience yet with scattering loot or chest placement in the open world as compared to genshins fontaine cuz in every game i 100% the map on my own but in wuwa, had to forcefully pull up the interactive map. Im comparing it with genshins 3rd year obv it wont be subpar and i believe wuwas exploration is currently better than monstadt and liyue but not above that. Natlan on the other hand, if u havent played this new region u wont belive this, actually has better and fun explorarion mechanics compared to wuwa especially with all the new characters. The point being wuwa currently does not have better exploration, lore main story clarity and main characters. But has better combat better movement (except natlan), stronger character stories, mc who doesn't hold back 95% of the time and graphics + fps cuz obv ue4
@htet2002linn the world has dark colors so all the items etc cannot be seen properly and too many wrecked buildings hiding the exploration stuff. I cannot be spending hours to find that one last chest which was 'hidden' in the most obnoxious way and not visible to loot mapper. In other games take genshin for example u just know it by game sense that this seems like a hidden chest. In wuwa u don't get the same feeling and u often times miss it unless u spend your whole life trying to find the chests

The day the elements in WuWa matter for something that isn't "this prism echo is invincible to these attacks", Genshin will have NOTHING better. You could MAYBE argue the artistic elements like music and background cause that's something personal. But hear me out... Genshin has already past the 5.0... While WuWa is reaching 2.0. WuWa has more chances to improve every element and THE WILL to do it. All the things that Genshin players (not the fanatics) have been asking for? Nothing. Skip button? (There's always some parts of the plot that you don't like and after getting what is about, you just wanna speed up, for example... I left hi3 for pgr (thats much much more generous and have more qol than all hoyoo games and wuwa itself lol no 50:50 BS, 100% banners, v generous , free S rank every other patch and actual good story) yet you wont see me or other pgr players continouslt bringing it up despite it being kuros attempt to copy hi3 (game in CN still gets sometimes auto translated to hi3 than PGR). You know why? Cause everyones too busy discussing the meta, the lore or how down bad they are for characters etc. I can't understand why wuwa players and CC can't focus on their own damn game make their content from that rather than focusing on the nth time the comparisons between the two games. The new player experience, with how smooth it is, yeah, you can easily make the argument that Genshin is better. Some people still cope that Wuwa can be the thing they wanted Genshin to be..but if anything, Kuro has shown that they cannot keep up, on face level, maybe, but not really. Anyone that has 100% Wuwa in terms of content should know this by heart. If Genshin would have released at the same time as Wuwa (ignoring the fact that Wuwa would have never existed without Genshin) even today, it would be more succesful. Features that people hype up about Wuwa the most are realistically things that most people simply do not care about. There are many examples for that even, almost every new player now still likes the game very much, despite Wuwa existing. It is simply ungodly overhated because people dont realize that being burned out by something has nothing to do with the thing itself. Try playing Elden Ring or Skyrim (without mods) for thousands of hours..they will get boring, anything will, that is why you dont play the same game for years on end that doesnt have multiplayer. If you think Wuwa will be different eventually, you are truly psychotic and will realise that in due time, no worries. Wuwa lovers will eventually turn, it is inevitable.

I think Wuwa is a better executed game than Genshin, but that's about it. I think Genshin has a better world and characters, and I'd feel that way even if Genshin didn't have a four year head start. Genshin also has great concepts with its gameplay and elemental combat...if only it would capitalize on those ideas more and give us content that was even a bit of a challenge

The combat is so unsatifying though its just basing reactions together and seeing big numbers, theres no proper dodge so its just i framing everything, and as you say the bosses are just bad. Also your right the story is better and the characters are better, but the designs are lacking suvearly compared to wuwa in execution. Yeahhhhh...nah. I haven't even played wuwa yet bc I'm on console, but I've played genshin for years, and I can say that wuwa overshadows it rn lol
tbh, it's kinda the opposite for me. I actually played wuwa until 1.1 or 1.2 and quit because of the story. I started to feel like the story wasn't for me, all this romance / loveydovey stuff wasn't doing it for me. And people on WuWa reddit are starting to point out its repetitiveness, too. I actually like the story from closed beta more, just needed some polishing, but they overcorrected. It's kinda hard to take it seriously due to trying to drop hints of romance every like 5 minutes or so, and I'm a lore player.
Moreover, though the combat does have its benefits in its reactiveness and being fast paced, I feel like it... lacks depth? it's just rather uninspiring in a way that seems like it's easy to have powercreep, not that I care much, but I wish there was a bit more variety or something like Genshin's elemental reaction system.
For what it's worth I was informed of Rinascita teaser and they look MUCH better, doesn't look like bait or anything. If the story suddenly gets much better and none of whatever 1.3 or 1.4 was, then I might consider coming back properly. IMO 1.2 WuWa was the best because there was no glazing, it was more normal, and there was a dark theme for a festival thing, even if it was relatively minor, there was some seriousness to it which I appreciate. I tried to like the game overall, but I couldn't vibe with it. If anything, ironically enough it made me go play Genshin more and relax in it.
I'd say, ironically enough, it actually made me play Genshin some more. I tried to like the game, but I couldn't really get into it. It has no performance issues though or at least didn't have any for me. It just didn't give me the same fun or marvel I had playing Genshin.
EDIT: Also, I've noticed in a previous video, that people actually seemed so p*ssed off that Dawei was 'crying tears' about Genshin while explaining the troubles they faced and having to listen to real traveler opinions. I actually appreciate that they went asking to IRL players, and visiting their houses, and asking why they stopped played, but it seems that they omitted that part and people were mocking it. I think it's a really weird behavior to be making fun of someone who's 'crying tears' over running into difficulties during the game's success. Like... it ain't some edgy cool shit it just makes you look like a weird guy. You can be indifferent or don't care for whatever it is, but if it bothers you so much or it makes you laugh, it sure doesn't feel like a normal reaction to me.

you know what was sad ? none of my friend play wuwa, so i just stick with genshin. cuz no matter how bad it is, i still prefer to play gacha game together rather than alone. if only wuwa was made by hoyo, maybe this will differ, or wuwa released first than genshin.
Im currently playing both the games, and the grind and exploration mechanics are indeed better in wuwa but im liking genshins explorarion as a whole more. I think wuwa doesnt have experience yet with scattering loot or chest placement in the open world as compared to genshins fontaine cuz in every game i 100% the map on my own but in wuwa, had to forcefully pull up the interactive map. Im comparing it with genshins 3rd year obv it wont be subpar and i believe wuwas exploration is currently better than monstadt and liyue but not above that. Natlan on the other hand, if u havent played this new region u wont belive this, actually has better and fun explorarion mechanics compared to wuwa especially with all the new characters.
The point being wuwa currently does not have better exploration, lore main story clarity and main characters. But has better combat better movement (except natlan), stronger character stories, mc who doesn't hold back 95% of the time and graphics + fps cuz obv ue4

I cannot be spending hours to find that one last chest which was 'hidden' in the most obnoxious way and not visible to loot mapper. In other games take genshin for example u just know it by game sense that this seems like a hidden chest. In wuwa u don't get the same feeling and u often times miss it unless u spend your whole life trying to find the chests

The new player experience, with how smooth it is, yeah, you can easily make the argument that Genshin is better. Some people still cope that Wuwa can be the thing they wanted Genshin to be..but if anything, Kuro has shown that they cannot keep up, on face level, maybe, but not really. Anyone that has 100% Wuwa in terms of content should know this by heart. If Genshin would have released at the same time as Wuwa (ignoring the fact that Wuwa would have never existed without Genshin) even today, it would be more succesful. Features that people hype up about Wuwa the most are realistically things that most people simply do not care about. There are many examples for that even, almost every new player now still likes the game very much, despite Wuwa existing. It is simply ungodly overhated because people dont realize that being burned out by something has nothing to do with the thing itself. Try playing Elden Ring or Skyrim (without mods) for thousands of hours..they will get boring, anything will, that is why you dont play the same game for years on end that doesnt have multiplayer. If you think Wuwa will be different eventually, you are truly psychotic and will realise that in due time, no worries. Wuwa lovers will eventually turn, it is inevitable.
Imagine yapping so much just to say game is not fun without multiplayer, as if mintpicking together is any better lmaoooo. Honestly people who still find genshin fun are only people who are unable to left because they spent to much times in the game or just people who never bother to play any other games other than Genshin. I think Wuwa is a better executed game than Genshin, but that's about it.
I think Genshin has a better world and characters, and I'd feel that way even if Genshin didn't have a four year head start.
Genshin also has great concepts with its gameplay and elemental combat...if only it would capitalize on those ideas more and give us content that was even a bit of a challenge

The combat is so unsatifying though its just basing reactions together and seeing big numbers, theres no proper dodge so its just i framing everything, and as you say the bosses are just bad. Also your right the story is better and the characters are better, but the designs are lacking suvearly compared to wuwa in execution. And then there paimon, god damn shes just like someone slowly scratching you to death with sandpaper.
Over a year and a half i just cant tolerate her or the way the game baby’s you anymore. I still play the story but i just have to skip her dialogue.
The only thing genshin has right now is story and soundtrack. The exploration in game is boring if you dont have limited characters which is stupid really. And the characters design in 5.0 theres nothing to be hype about. and the story for natlan is currently the worst nation so far so yeah, genshin gonna kill himself before anyone get close to genshin level.

Nah, the banners is the only thing genshin does right. 780+ days with no primordial jade cutter and waiting 2 years for a character/weapon that you really want is the way to go. And no chronicled wish or third banner is the cherry on top.
