How To Change First Boot Device in BIOS to Boot From CD/DVD

- Changing the boot order on a PC is mostly done in order to boot from a recovery disk or from an OEM disc to run some kind of Windows repair software
On a Dell machine it's usually F2, Toshiba is F1 or ESC, HP is F1 or F2 to start up in the BIOS.

It worked. I could not use the + or - to change position but the page up, page down worked. Also I could not use my usb keyboard to change it, but a regular multi pin keyboard worked. Thank you.
It wont work for me. Please help me when I set the CD/DVD to firs boot priority and save changes but when the computer restarts it starts windows normaly. Please help mee!!!!!!!!

hey miguel, i have problem.I follow all your instruction i make CD/DVD my first boot and second is hard disk,then i press f10 to save and exit BIOS. it say's press any key to continue and i press enter.the problem is when i press enter it never load the set up..pls help :(

The advanced BIOS page on my Gigabyte AM3 motherboard looks exactly the same as in the video, but the Removable boot option is not listed even though I have the Windows installation USB drive plugged in. The available choices are CDROM, Hard Drive, ZIP, FDD, LAN, and USB-Hard Drive/FDD/ZIP/CDROM.
Does this sound like a possible format issue? Does the USB drive have to be plugged in for the Removable setting to appear?

1st boot device
2nd boot device
3rd boot device
when i select 1st boot device and look for usb it has many options (usb hdd,usb fdd, usb cd-rom....)
which should i select to boot from usb? i want to install windows xp... help plzz...

i checked the udb format type and it is already configured as fat32 as i was using yumi to write the os....i think the problem is that the bios is sooo old i have to update it ..

Well I did this perfectly and it still wont work. I'm not blaming it on you, it's just very frustrating. Norton deleted System32 so I followed the instructions on this video and nothing happened. Please help.

Dude its not reponding cause your keyboard is not responding.Go to CMOS and then select boot device keyboard!!!!! Hope it helps!!! The same problem happend with me.

Ive done this. I set my boot priority to my cd/dvd drive first, then hdd. I never get that mag to press button to boot from cd. The computer still goes straight to hdd and doesnt even try booting from cd. So? I got MSI bios. How am i supposed to boot from cd when the bios igores my boot priority?

On "Advanved BIOS Features," I do not see the First Boot Device section or any of that stuff. The only subtopics I see are "CPU XD Support," "Muli Core," and "USB Device Setting." How come I only see that?

thanks. But why do you have to press any key to boot from your 1st cdrom if you have a bootable cd inside already? Shouldn't already boot auto. since it's your first choice?

Hello Miguel! In order to be asked to choose from which device to boot, all the four devices should be set to "Disabled"?
my first boot device is cd/dvd: and second is hdd and still the computer is booting without any issue why?
It is only showing cd/DVD option it is not showing any other option . And only showing 1st boot device. And it was already choosen as cd/ DVD and I pressed f10 but the same problem is still there. Please suggest the solution for that.

When I do this and by the way my disc is inserted it just loads up normally and gives me an error message an operating system wasn't found. Try disconnecting and drives that don't contain an operating system. Help please

But under advanced tab It is showing sata port-1( harddisk) not present
sata port-2 (Dvd Writer) is Present..
Under preformance tab it is showing to clear Cmos..
And finally it is showing select a proper boot device or press any key to boot..?
