I really like that they made Richard an actual ally with an economy. Its a nice distraction and if you help them their longbows are actually badass against Saladin
I finished this mission in 7 minutes. Before the Saracens attack me, I built 2 castles as close as possible to Jerusalem then declared war to yellow to destroy their wall with petards, and did the same on the walls of Jerusalem. Then with minimal resistance, Barbarosa reached Jerusalem within less than 7 minutes :))
Today I completed this map. I even stole the relic of the Saracens :O I'm bold! At the onset of the mission, send your six paladins in front of the Saracens' monastery, is roughly at the northeast edge of the map. Said relic is placed between two trees and has got the monastery as background. So you put the six Paladins doing a cordon and send your own Monk to deny enemys' ;)
I remember playing this. When I play these kind of "bring the barrel to the dome" I would always try to win by killing everyone. It backfired on me and I accidentally destroyed the dome
You can destroy the dome and still be victorious by first defeating all others (yellow, orange, green) and then destroy all the units of blue before the dome of rock. When blue will be defeated and there is no other left you will be instantly victorious.
How it was possible with 75 pop limit I can never know. AI can be dumb in many ways but the fact they can kite you with ranged unit in 10 places at the same time is clearly super human.
Completed in 75 pop in HD! - no speedrun. 1. Enter Damascus 2. Build 2 Castles beside their castle. 3. Wall up the Saracens Eastern Gate, just build multiple layer walls. 4. Build Rams and Petards and put beside Damascus castle. 5. Once Saracens & Damascus became enemy, immediately blow down Damascus castle and their Town Center. 6. Then slowly farm... build skirmishers, convert remaining war elephants of Damascus. 7. By this time, you should be strong enough to attack the Eastern Part of Saracens 8. remove your walls and unleash the horde into Saracens. 9. Finish off the Western part of Saracens once Eastern part is done.
Fascinating... He loses so much shit but couldn't care less because of his economy... I just couldn't bear to see my army die like that :( And is why i end up with 20.000 food after I'm done with he mission
crazy every video of his, he lets his units on attack stance and they walk around and get killed. I mean he could have saved 90% of his army by just leaving them on defense stance. I seen three videos and it frustrates me to no end.
I did this mission on Hard , pretty easy when you wall both gates on the north ,place some castles , and help the British , when you help them they’ll spam cavalry and Long bowmen, and is so funny to just destroy Jerusalem with castle spam , and having them full with arquebusiers
I found this easier than the other missions actually. Built 3 tcs and houses right at the beginning and created a ton of halbs and hand cannoneers. Survived the initial assult by putting 3 castles in front of my base. Then I just flattened damascus, ignored saladin and punched a hole through to Jerusalem. Didn't give a shit about saving richard the lionheart, and for some reason they never attacked my unprotected gold mining operates in the desert. If I had to do it again I would probably go halb+cavalier because the onagers would always flatten my hand cannoneers. I'd also probably try cheesing it by walling off their gates and using onagers to attack ground damascus's castle and tcs before they turned enemy.
My way of beating this level was to send vills to build a castle inside of Damascus's walls next to the gold and stone. They couldn't get resources so it was easy to finish them off. The rest of the level took me a while though
I have a feeling we played this different since I've got some tips and strats I've been doing most of them solo but still coming back when I finish one to see in comparison. ⚔️
I just deployed the best strategy and beat this on hard to earn gold. All I had to do was immediately wall off the 3 gates from the outside and build two castles at the two gates to the lower right, then I upgraded the castles and the elephants are stuck inside the walls and you destroy everything easily. Build a market and trade carts and mine all the gold and stone and trade with the ally and win
I wonder if the starting alliance gimmick of the map is what gave you so much trouble getting conversions. Since you start allied to everyone except Jerusalem, I'm guessing Damascus was getting to enjoy using your teuton team bonus against you.
I love this level. Check that, I love this entire campaign. I always make sure to eliminate Damascus and Saladin because it makes for a lot of fun, hard difficulty, of course, so the stream of Elite War Elephants, Paladins, Onagers, and Trebuchets from Damascus is unending and the Saracen army of Saladin gives you the perfect excuse to use Elite Teutonic Knights since Mamelukes can barely scratch them... Siege Onagers on the other hand...
I just beat this and MAN i was nearly doomed at the end. Fighting through yellow's base with his war elephants and marcro god archer army was extremely painful and annoying. Wasted all my troops after the fight was over and all i had left was like 10-15 skirmishers and pikemen along with a couple teuton knights, horse knights, 2 bombard cannons and 2 treebuchets. I had no wood or gold to make any siege weapons or more troops so i had to sneak past the 2 towers guarding the dome of rock by breaking the walls near bottom to the right. It really was a close call
