    I've never heard of this game until recently. I searched online and discovered it was invented in the early 1980s. In the mid-to-late 80s there was a dice game that was very popular in the bars in southern MN at the time called "Polish Dice"? which I realize now is a ripoff of this game. It makes sense though to convert the game to regular dice instead of spending money on a specially marked set of dice. In the game I played, fours went to the left, fives to the right and sixes to the pot. Also another rule that was different was that the last person with coins in front of them didn't automatically win the pot but had to roll all safe numbers (1, 2, 3) to win the pot. I also found info online that called this game (using regular dice) the Quarter Pass Dice Game as well as Hobin's Dice Game. Hobin's Dice Game uses 6 coins instead of 3 which just makes the game last longer and have a bigger pot. Another slight difference with Hobin's is that fours went to the pot, fives to the right and sixes to the left.

    I wonder if you could play with a modded dice to add a + and ^ to the dice, where + makes you draw one chip from the center (if there's none in the center, nothing happens), and ^ makes you give a chip to the player across to you

      You can play this with standard dice, so you can make six possibilities: left, center, right, across, take chip, no action.

    Is it possible for a player to gain the chips in the center of the table that don't belong to anybody? If so, how do you do that?

    • @krob731
      @krob731 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Once they are in the center, they stay in the center . The center is the 'pot' and continues to build. Eventually, the last person with a remaining chip wins the center.

      It depends on how many people there are. My family plays it at Easter, and instead of chips we use plastic eggs filled with different amounts of money. There are about 20 of us, and it so fun and we're laughing so hard it doesn't seem long at all. Maybe an hour. We put the eggs in a large bowl.
