That scene really messed me up. Seeing Mayuri with so much regret for stopping Okabe, which started his downward spiral. Also from Okabe for trying to tell Mayuri not to think about it, look away from reality. Just ignore his pain and the future that awaits them since she was able to live. I really thought Okabe was a lost cause after that

All that pain he had to endure watching his friends die time and time again really hit me. It's been 6 months since my mom died. Around the time of her death I started watching Steins; Gate ,and I cried endless tears. Edit: I have been coping with my moms passing ,and I'm still addicted to Steins;Gate. I feel you. I lost a dear friend of mine in a freak car accident. He told me, a few days before to watch steins;gate. that it was good and he thought i'd like it. When i watched it, i couldn't stop. even though it hurt. he always wanted to go and visit akihabara and other places, so. i'm doing that for him. in his place, in the season he wanted to go, just mid/after typhoon season; september ish. 人生は時々不公平だ... I say But hey!. All the music is amazing, and i connect with it. so deeply. Just remember, you're never alone. And you will never be.
This is one of the few songs that has ever gotten my to cry. It reminds me what’s at stake in my life. Mayuri reminds me a lot of someone I love and means everything to me. So kind, so pure. But every time I hear this song I remember my Orihime suffers too. So many things were placed on her back. She once told me that she just wanted to disappear, to avoid the problems she kept running into. I’ve been willing to help her where others ignore her, or tell her she’s an idiot. To me she is the brightest star in the sky, and if I see her cry, I’ll make sure they are tears of happiness.
This is so damn heartbreaking. When I watched the subbed version of Mayuri's "Puddle of Tearful Rain" monologue it hit so damn hard. There are so many emotions this draws out, and it show's just how much she loves Okabe. Mayurii was the star of Steins;Gate 0 in the end. If she didn't tell her past self to save him from his own despair they wouldn't have a future. And I rest my case.
In the last scene of Steins;Gate 0 after Okabe rescues Mayuri and Suzuha there is a shot of 2 bright stars in the sky. Vega and Altair, or Orihime and Hikoboshi.

This was an heartbreaking scene, i was so not prepared for it when i first watched Steins Gate 0. Mayuri is like this soft, attentionate and positive little thing and its hard to see her sad.

Fatin Marwat, well written! I agree. Okabe does love Mayuri but not in that way. But his love for kurisu developed because she helped him and was just so selfless. Just like him, she was ready to sacrifice for Mayuri and did everything she could. I truly believe that okabe did deserve kurisu. They were also so similar in many ways!
Has her place in her heart as a sister, but the place as a woman is for Kurisu, also okabe has the right to love whoever he wants and Kurisu did a lot for both Okabe and Mayuri, Kurisu also deserves to be happy and I'm happy for her
Steins Gate 0 makes me think of Mayuri as more a likable character. I am kind of wishing in the OG series she had more of an impact other than being a mere plot device.
She was a great character in original Steins Gate. It's just that she was more of a primary focus in 0. But even in original, she was great and loveable and sweet and precious. It's just that in 0, seeing Okabe sad has brought back out her depression and sadness that Okabe made her forget about all those years ago.

A static character is not a plot device, just because dynamic characters leave more of an impression doesn’t mean every static character is bad. A static character can be well used and the writer deserves praises for it
I was actually blown away by how sad this anime turned out to be. When I saw the description, it said it's an alternate worldline where okabe is depressed that he failed to save kurisu and that he gave up. So I prepared myself for a little sadness here and there, but my word, this blew my expectations.
I love both series, yes it might have some errors in what respect to the travels but at least i couldnt notice a single one , and the fct that steins gate 0 focus in a line whih actually marks a point to the events that unwrap in the main series giving us a more deepth undertanding in all the hardships that he had to go through , adds so much more to the series overall. The music of course as always top notch its basicly another characters because it has so much weight that if its wasnt there you would realize instantly. I love steins gate so much the ove that conect the firts one with 0 and the movie.
I love absolutely everything about this scene, it really was well put together being beautifully animated, along with an amazing song to go with it and the VAs being insane at portraying emotion, they really did an amazing job making me cry 100% of the time, no matter how many times I watch the series, I know damn well Mayuri's monologues will never fail to make me cry
