- Okay, here they are - The Keystone Stormtroopers! Left to right are Hank Mann, Joe Ploski, Bill Irving and Heinie Conklin. The Waiter is Snub Pollard. This 1942 Soundie was only one of many covers of this very popular snub to "the Fooey" himself.

Well you see, the bartender knows that hitler was a very powerful man, and so he does the nazi saute. but when the soldiers who are singing blow raspberry at the pic of hitler, he realises that they were mocking him. And so he's like, "oh crap. uhh... was i supposed to saulte?".

Whenever I hear this song, in its many versions, the raspberries blown after each heil! remind me of a movie I saw years ago about an American reporter forced to make propaganda broadcasts for the Nazis, who would end every broadcast with a line like "Let's give the Germans a big cheer, a rousing Bronx cheer!", or "Tell it to the Army, tell it to the Navy, but above all, tell it to the Marines!". 😅

they didn't come out of retirement. Hark Mann worked consistently into 1960. Snub worked til passed in 1962. Heinie passed in. 1959 and worked consistently. Joe til 1990 in bit parts. This was the last performance Bill Irving gave, he passed in 1943
