There was no monopoly at all. It was all well deserved. There was never any competition between the Mangeshkar sisters and others. Others complained of monopoly because they weren't talented and weren't getting more jobs. Today , there is degradation and deterioration of music and so it lacks consistency. It's more of a lack of consistency than the so called vibrant competition that exists today. Sunidhi and Shreya ruled the roost for a long time because they were unmatched in those times. The man taking interview, wearing indian traditional clothes, but speaks in english. Where the legend singer has sung mainly in hindi and became famous . Speaker should have spoken in hindi to respect her creativity. And to honour my country's culture. Most of people who loves her songs , they speak and understand hindi.
But he wanted to show himself ,as he knows english. Very cheap mentality.
Instead he should have interviewed Madona, to prove how genius he is.
I only love her voice and singing style. All her songs are very near to my heart. In some respects she is better than Lata didi.
