If you run the whole dungeon and kill everything inside, by the time you finish the beginning bosses and mobs should start respawning, that's what I was doing to level my thralls. The first boss tends not to drop a legendary the second time but still a good way to level thralls. I'm also including the time it takes to loot the three chests for the rusty keys. Also the undead dragon and stuff deeper in are worth good exp, I've always liked dragons since they're somewhat easy to fight once you're good at dodging lol.

I always go in with atheist 6 keys. Even if I'm just leveling thralls. I also switch between unnamed and war maker.
how are you in ranger gear and not taking more damage when hit?

Thralls will follow you through portals and map room jumps.
