As a 40 something father of two girls, I think Maddie and Tae are highly under-appreciated in Nashville. They have very relatable songs for young girls and are extremely talented. I highly suggest you listen to their song "Fly", with your girls in mind. Also, "Friends don't" is a great one.
Some of my favorite songs from Maddie and Tae are Shut up and Fish, Fly, Bathroom Floor and Trying on Rings they are some of the best songs and their harmonies are crazy.
The 90"s was the decade of strong talented women country artists - Martina McBride, Faith Hill, Reba, Tricia Yearwood, Emmylou Harris, The Judds, Kathy Mattea, Patty Loveless, Pam Tillis, Sara Evans, LeAnn Rimes, Allison Krauss, Lori Morgan, Mary Chapin Carpenter, KT Oslin, . . . I'm sure I've missed some important ones. THAT was who the girl in a country song was once upon a time. Move over boys and let the women back in.
It’s not about that, there are talented female country singers in every decade, it’s about how men talked about women, and how they were respected until the late 2000s
@@jbc_8110 I get what the song is about. My comment has to do with the current lack of female voices out there off-setting the demeaning boy-talk that covers the airwaves. We need more women having room to raise their own voices.
Just an observation. It is based on my opinion. At best, at least HALF of what passes for Country today ISN'T. It's Pop with a Southern Accent. However that doesn't detract from anyones talent as a lot of them have it in vast amounts. That STILL doesn't make it Country. The Band Perry being a good example. Talented, couple of hits, made some money switched to the music they ACTUALLY wanted to do and haven't been heard from since. The Record Cos,Producers and Managers are trying to pick up support for Artist who are "not quite" Pop or in a lot of cases even close to Country. Strait and Jackson had it right with "Murder on Music Row".
I absolutely adore them. They have such a lovely variety of songs. Fun ones as this, heartbreak songs, like Die of a broken heart, Heart they didn't break or Spring Cleaning, and some beautiful love songs like Strangers, Lay here with me, Madness, Trying on rings or Woman you got. And what a wonderful reaction.
Despite being raised in the country, I really didnt get into country music until a few years ago, in my late 50s. And yes, I've done the same thing as you: dived deeper and deeper into it. I'm finding that I enjoy the new country much more than the older stuff, because it's more upbeat and positive. And yes, as someone else suggested, please do check out the song Fly. I think you'll love the message it imparts.
I'm the opposite. I always preferred the older stuff, despite being 32. Can't stand the new "country" because it's mostly bro country, or party songs, or songs where they're trying too hard to prove how "country" they are, or they're too pop. There are plenty of upbeat songs in the older stuff. There's also more variety and authenticity.
Tailgating is when you have a picnic on your tailgate using it like a table. Setting up a portable grill on the tailgate and having your food set up on it. People tailgate at big stadiums before a big game a lot, or even small town kids ball games.
I'd never heard of these singers before (this isn't my genre of music) but my professor of Music History showed us this music video a few weeks ago and we all loved it! What a crazy coincidence to find this on my YT home page
If you go through the lyrics of this song, there are so many references (titles and lyrics) from the songs they are making fun of. And when this song came out, lots of people took it a little too seriously, and Maddie and Tae admitted that it was meant to be a light hearted poke at the state of country music, not an indictment of it. And speaking of AI writing country music, there was a guy a couple years ago who used Google to do exactly that, he googled generic country love song lyrics, put a bunch together, then googled a generic country music track, and put them together. It's way better than it should be. It's called Sunset Left by Michael Daniels. You should check it out!
Thanks @iamsebsduran. I thought this was just a light hearted way to laugh at the world and country music. But y'all know how I love me some country music. Hope the family is well & stay blessed.
If you need some good laughers you don't need to look any farther than Brad Paisley's music videos. "Celebrity" "Online" "In Gonna Miss Her" And many more!
I can only tell you that while not being a big fan of most of today's country, I am also proud to say I know the cowriter of this song as a friend. Aaron Scherz is a mix of Jimmy Buffett, James Taylor, and John Denver. He is also just such fun to be with.
So they put guys not that in-shape in clothes that women in great shape would be wearing. Guys in great shape tend to wear more revealing clothes and women absolutely look, stare, drool and some get a lil drippy in other places. Yet not one person forces them to wear the clothing they are complaining about. Women absolutely wear clothing that shows off their body when they are in shape and actually love doing it. Guys do the same thing. Guys just don't spend hours on their hair and makeup just to impress other guys. Women obsess over what other women think of them.

100% agree. Songs like Country girl shake it for me, is doing no one any favors.
They are soo good! We were in Nashville recently, and requested Maddie & Tae at one of the bars and they flat out refused to play anything by them.
My favorite Maddie & Tae songs are “Die from a broken heart “ and the follow up song “ heart they didn’t break”
I love die from a broken heart acoustic ❤
I love this song just because of the sassy attitude and the way it snaps back at all of the "bro" videos.
Some of my favorite songs from Maddie and Tae are Shut up and Fish, Fly, Bathroom Floor and Trying on Rings they are some of the best songs and their harmonies are crazy.

None of it is country. None AT ALL.
Great reaction! Another fun song and video by them is called Shut up and Fish.
Great reaction, Sebs! :) Please react to more Maddie and Tae- I recommend Fly, Shut Up & Fish, Die From A Broken Heart, and Downside of Growing Up.

I love when artists have a sense of humor.
You’ve got to listen to their song “Shut up and fish”. It’s so good too.
I love it...they are absolutely adorable...💜💜💜
Tailgating is when you have a picnic on your tailgate using it like a table. Setting up a portable grill on the tailgate and having your food set up on it. People tailgate at big stadiums before a big game a lot, or even small town kids ball games.

Best country is like 80s and early 90s imo
Thanks @iamsebsduran. I thought this was just a light hearted way to laugh at the world and country music. But y'all know how I love me some country music. Hope the family is well & stay blessed.
You might like Miranda Lamert’s song; gun powder and lead. I have Maddy and Tae on my Country rotation. Great songs and lovely harmonies.
You should check out their other song Shut up and fish also Please do Sawyer Brown They dont understand
If you need some good laughers you don't need to look any farther than Brad Paisley's music videos.

Red neck crazy is another song they referenced which you should definitely check out. It’s by Tyler Farr
The r r r r r red part is based on a Blake Shelton song
You should check out their song "Shut Up and Fish" So funny.
I love those two some really nice ladies in my opinion ❤
You should check out Luke Brian: Huntin, Fishin and Lovin Everyday
Better a girl in a country song, than a girl in a rap song. Thats not to mention the music videos.........or Diddy
Cledus t Judd is epic also
Almost every line is taken from a country song. I know them all. It’s a shame I can’t sing.😂
Could you reaction to Trace Adkins: Swing
And yet they always look like…well you know what. Respect?
If you think this is funny you need to listen to the rascal flatts song “backwards”. It’s similar of them making fun of the country music stereotypes!
I can't appreciate the song because the video is so funny it takes me out of it

Lol most of the women in a Conway song wound up in his bed. Conway boned them all 🛏️
Meh... are they really true artists, or are they just looking to get rich off of a 'social' statement. Let's see their next great hit
