I have two 1086 tractors, I only have one very good, high cold cranking amps battery on my tractors. I haven't had two batteries on my tractors for 30 years or longer. Tractors are only used in warmer weather. When I need tractors for cold weather I plug in the block heaters. This works good for me.
I was a great trip. Thos guys at Ag Express were great to work with. It was well worth the time. I'm going to try to get that video done tonight. Thanks for watching and being here. Your always an encouragement.
Good to see u back in action u gonna have that 1086 ready to go before long I feel ya on ur ankle i actually just had the same surgery on my right ankle looks like ur just a bit ahead of me im still in a cast thanks for sharing enjoyed the video bama
Good luck with your recovery. It has gone slower than I was hoping for. I hope to have it ready to do spring tillage. I will not have everything done but it will work. Thanks for watching.
Did the transducer fix your problem? Do you recall how much it cost to be sent off? All my reading jump around. Chased wires and appear to look good. Thanks!
I live about an hour and a 1/2 away from the place so I drove it over there. They looked at it and test it. They said that the digital display was good but the transducer that goes into the bell housing was bad. They did other work for me so I didn't get charged for them to check that out. I don't recall the price but I do remember it was not cheap for that transducer. It works most of the time now but if any piece of metal gets on the face of that transducer, it doesn't work anymore. So that could be the problem of dirt or metal flakes on the end of that transducer that needs to be cleaned off. That would be one thing to check, good luck.
I'm sure it is not fun but I don't think it will be as bad as having to take the starter off my John Deere 6620 combine. I had to buy a special wrench for $50 to put it back on. Thanks for being here and watching.
Been there done that with the Cab solenoid switch and thats what Case calls the upgrade so if you get something different i will be suprised since the napa ones do not last for me usually
Thanks, I was thinking about getting the one at napa but had heard that it would not last as long as the new one. But why could they not have put the correct base on it. Anyway, it's in and I will test it after I get the battery box fixed and alternator back in.
@@TAHDAHFarm well I asked that question when I got it from my dealer and was told it's a heavier-duty version and plus I think it's the same one that all the 7000-series Magnums use that's why they went to that cuz it's a common part otherwise you might try an international truck dealer cuz international trucks used similar versions to the old IH only reason I know is cuz I have international trucks
Ok thanks, I'll keep that in mind if I have to do this again. I got it in there for now and will see how long it last. Ya, the dealer told me the same thing about being heavy duty and it was re-engineered because it was not holding up.
Yeah, I couldn't have picked a better time to get this ankle fixed. It's just not going as fast as I would like it to go but I'm older now, lol. Thanks for watching.
You can probably get that solenoid from NAPA, looks fairly common
I have been going to napa for a lot of parts for this 1086 lately. Thanks for being here and watching.

Thanks for the info. With one battery it just didn't want to start as well as it does with 2. Thanks for watching.
The real life frustrations of working on your own stuff always include at least one show stopping wrong part. Have a nice road trip Tim.

It won’t be long before you’ll be putting it to work. Good to see you getting around.
Thank you. Just needs to warm up some, and it is good to be able to do things again. Just take about 3x longer to do them.

Just wait till you have to pull the starter out your 1086, it’s a booger

Nice to see you mobile..sort of....
I can get moving pretty fast on smooth ground but working on things in the barn seems to take 3x longer than it should. Thanks for watching.
well it's a good thing it's winter time and you're not harvesting crops
