This series is perfect. I work at a Zoo here in Australia, study Zoology, and am constantly keeping myself update on AZA and WAZA standards, so really awesome to see how Planet Zoo works with it and how you interpret the standards!
This was great, one thing I really want to see is more people build zoos with weather constraints in mind, heavy snow or rain extreme heat. That way the buildings and habitats reflect where the zoo is supposed to be set, super glad you mentioned the heat rocks.
As a keeper at an AZA facility, I love that you’re using the same guidelines we follow to inform your work! Those standards are just the bare minimum that an AZA facility has to follow, but most go above and beyond them. The Jacksonville Zoo’s tiger habitat is phenomenal, especially the training walls they have that are built into the catwalks.
As a environmental biologist and conservationist biologist who will be working with a Conservation Center soon. I really appreciate these videos and I love how even though it's just a game you work to make sure that the animals would be happy in real life. Dry motes are used very commonly and something I plan on doing when I get the game. Keep this up I really enjoyed thank you.
This is officially the coolest series on TH-cam. I'm totally geeking out a minute into the episode! Before even watching it I can already tell how much work went into this. Super excited to see future Zoo School episodes!! Don't tire yourself out too much with all that research!
I have been having a harder time enjoying PlanZoo than PlanCo and I think it's because when players were building zoos in PlanCo so much more background research and detail went into making them work, whereas in PlanZoo many were letting the game tell them what they could/could not do. This has blown it out of the water! I cannot wait to continue watching! Excellent work!
This was well worth the wait. This is the best PlanZoo content out there right now! & I have to say this is absolutely the most realistic zoo habitat I’ve seen in-game yet (go figure, it was based on actual zoo habitats). Especially under the guest awning, it’s the closest I’ve seen the game feel to an actual zoo experience. I think it boils down to the distance that you view the animal from. A lot of PlanZoo content out there now is, appropriately for the game, giving guests close up & amazing views of animals, but in real life they are always viewed at from a distance. At least these A-tier animals. You can get pretty close to a tortoise I suppose. Major props to Jonti on this hopefully long-running series, can’t wait for more & will absolutely be using the AZA & real-life examples for my own parks as well, thanks!
Of course I'd like to see more of zoo school! Ill watch whatever makes ya happy to create! Planet zoo has become a comfort for me watching your videos at tea Time (in the UK) and catching your streams when I can has become part of my routine!
I am addicted to watching all your videos on Planet Zoo, I think I have been binging now for 2/3 hours hihi. Love the commentary, humour and how beautiful your zoos are! Keep up the awesome work =)
That was AMAZING. I've been waffling about what to do for habitats for my franchise zoo and just wasn't sure how to do habitats for larger animals. This helped a lot. Thanks Jonti!
Loved this! Would prefer to see a bit more of you building though as it’s soothing to watch! Maybe a short speed build whilst you explain what is needed for the certain animal?
I'm sure this took a long time to pull together, but the end product is amazing! I love this kind of content. It's got a great balance of informational / zoo footage and build content.
*applause* 👏🏽 very well done. I’m so excited to see what’s next. I love the comparisons of real world examples of cat walks to an in game one. I want frontier to release netting so we can stop guests throwing stuff into exhibits. The dry moat side looks like it can use some. What a beautiful lush exhibit with such creative viewing height variation. I love this series. ❤️
Wow--this is the series I didn't know I needed but so glad I've gotten. This is all that hard work you were doing for Uzuri and putting it towards a game where you'll actually be rewarded, hahaha. Great stuff, pal. Can't wait for another one of these.
I'd be more than happy for these videos to be 30+ minutes long! Also, it'd be great to see you talk about the indoor behind-the-scenes spaces of habitats, like where keepers would be able to see the animals more upclose than in the outdoor habitat? Loved the video and can't wait for more! :D
This is one of the best, most creative builds I've ever seen. Like, seriously, this is so amazing. Thank you for sharing, I'll definitely take a few design ideas from this and use them as a foundation of my own tiger habitat, once I get my hands on this game. So beautiful.
Love this video. Amazing how one can see the progress from clip to clip. Beautiful how it turned out in the end. Please keep this series up for a long time
What a cool idea for a series! Taking advantage of this wonderful game to foster awareness and conservation efforts for these wonderful animals. Amazing work my man!
This is a really unique channel, I’ve been around some youtube Chanel’s that make planet zoo series and this is one of the top 3 so far, very creative, very good with talking and reacting with your audience. It inspires me to make a series myself
holy crap this is the coolest series idea ever. thank you for bringing attention to animal conservation and the importance of functional zoo habitats. jonti you're seriously the best!
I don’t usually comment, but I just wanted to say that I absolutely loved this video! I’m already a huge fan of Zoo School; it’s equally informative and entertaining. Well done 🤗👏
Love the steps you show on how to get to the end result. Very realistic, and you have given me some great ideas for my own Habitat! Thank you for taking the time to show us what you do!
I just discovered your channel recently, and I must say, the quality of your content is outstanding! Educational, entertaining, helpful, and pleasant to watch all in one.
What a incredible start of this series! Your eye for detail and the given information is so nice to look and listen too. Looking forward to another lecture in zoo school!
As someone from Jacksonville, the exhibits at the Jacksonville zoo are ingenious and some of the best in the U.S and I’m so glad that you videos are giving it the attention it deserves.
Really fantastic work here - the set up of all of the segments...the research that went into it...it's just really friggen well done. I learned a lot by watching this and I'm super thankful to you for making it so easy to digest. Hey and the result doesn't look too shabby either!
Best Planet Zoo Habitat I've seen on youtube so far! I hope that you work the future Habitat's into the same land as this one, as it would make for an amazing Zoo when finished.
I love this approach! It's very cool that the game very much allows for the habitat to be close to what's actually recommended for animals. In case you use this habitat for something else, the right side of the shade structure in the "nook" area has orange colored painted beams, where the others are more natural colored. I figured it was just a color that was too close for you to discern with your color blindness, but just in case! Thanks again!
Good call basing it on the Jacksonville Zoo. The tiger exhibit there is truly breathtaking! I’ve been many times since I live in the area. You can get REALLY close to the tigers there, so close you could reach out and touch them. Though that isn’t a good idea...
So excited for this!! love the originality in your presentation!! So different then what I have been seeing, great education while incorporating the game! Well done 👏🏽
Love it! One thing I'd suggest/request though is adding one final stage that regards game mechanics. Like where education boards, benches, bins, donation box, etc would go in regards to the more realistic areas and how guest interacts with the exhibit, and so on. When I saw the educational viewing area it got me to thinking how to hide, at least for the front row, benches in them to make it more possible to see the guests actually sitting there occasionally. Like what PaulsLey did for the safari Jurassic World theme entrance.
As a zookeeper I have to say that this video was brilliant! love the videos that you make and hope you make more of these zoo school videos. can't wait when you do the primates and the apes, because I love them and work with them almost every day :)
This is amazing! Thank you for putting so much thought, time and effort into videos like these. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series, loving it already!
If you ever do Grizzly Bears or Timber Wolves. The Grizzly Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone is a great piece for inspiration! (Mostly injured and orphaned animals from the park)
Geekism thanks for the like! I definitely see the inspiration! One more great piece of inspiration would probably be the Charles Darwin Research Station on Santa Cruz Island in the Galapagos. Best Galapagos Tortoise exhibits I’ve ever seen!
wauw i loved this video! great concept and would love to see more of this, absolutely love how the hab turned out, as its different from anything ive seen others make!
Another great example of an underwater tiger viewing area is the Denver aquarium - I've seen a recent rise in big cats in aquariums lately, I wonder why? I love it!
loved this build!!! great job as usual. In Bangladesh, these tigers are highly regarded and honestly, for people who live near the Sundarbans rainforest area they are the most terrifying creature. They say that their roars are capable of shaking even mangrove trees
I absolutely love this idea and I cannot wait to see more! I really wish I could be a patreon, but at the moment I am desperately trying to pay off a lot of dept. Hopefully I can start being a patreon in March because I appreciate your content so much.
I knew I recognized that layout! I just went there and it is an amazing experience to be that close to a tiger, my boyfriend spotted a ground area they could walk on and thought somehow the tiger escaped and nearly knocked me over trying to move me lol
Hey jonti, great first episode of zoo school! Very informative. The habitat looked great, loved the 'tiger walks' definitely something I need to implement into my zoo. Looking forward to the next one😁👍
I'm not sure if you can tell, or if that's the look you were going for, but 6 of the contrasting beams on your right-hand viewing area are a different color than the other contrasting beams of this build. The ones I'm talking about are on the right-hand side of that viewing area, and the difference is viewable at 14:40.
Awesome work on this one! The well anticipated series is now well received :) One comment/suggestion: I found the Zoo School interlude to be a bit abrupt (audibly).
This must have taken an unbelievable amount of work - love this series!
It did :D I'm still not 100% happy with the video style tbh... but wanted to get this out to get some feedback before I start on the next one :)
@@Geekism you should definitely be happy with it - I thought it was excellent and very informative - habitat ended up looking incredible as well!
I found this really interesting as it’s quite different to most content I watch but I still love it
Thanks Jack :)
Geekism my pleasure mate keep up all the good work
Jonti, You should put all your builds from Zoo School on the workshop.
This series is perfect. I work at a Zoo here in Australia, study Zoology, and am constantly keeping myself update on AZA and WAZA standards, so really awesome to see how Planet Zoo works with it and how you interpret the standards!

Another incredible habitat 👏👏👏. This one looks so realistic looking I could imagine it in a real zoo. Can't wait to see more zoo school videos!
Thank you! :)
Amazing video as always! I think it would be really cool to build all the zoo school habitats into one park to make the ultimate zoo!!
As a environmental biologist and conservationist biologist who will be working with a Conservation Center soon. I really appreciate these videos and I love how even though it's just a game you work to make sure that the animals would be happy in real life. Thanks! Yeah background research really elevates builds I think :)

You are creating a great series right here! Was a penguin zookeeper here, I have studied my AZA manual alright, so I can totally relate. Awesome job!
Of course I'd like to see more of zoo school! Ill watch whatever makes ya happy to create! Planet zoo has become a comfort for me watching your videos at tea Time (in the UK) and catching your streams when I can has become part of my routine!
Thanks for watching! Enjoy your tea!
@@Geekism I shal indeed thank you! Hope you and your family are loving life!
I am addicted to watching all your videos on Planet Zoo, I think I have been binging now for 2/3 hours hihi. Love the commentary, humour and how beautiful your zoos are! Keep up the awesome work =)
Thanks Katie! Take a wee wee break soon though!
That was AMAZING. I've been waffling about what to do for habitats for my franchise zoo and just wasn't sure how to do habitats for larger animals. This helped a lot. Thanks Jonti!
Thanks Haley! Glad it helped :)
Loved this! Would prefer to see a bit more of you building though as it’s soothing to watch! Maybe a short speed build whilst you explain what is needed for the certain animal?
Yay Zoo School HAS BEGUN!!
The only school I’ll ever go to besides film/acting/theatre school.
The "do not feed the animals" sign works great for me!
Wow--this is the series I didn't know I needed but so glad I've gotten. This is all that hard work you were doing for Uzuri and putting it towards a game where you'll actually be rewarded, hahaha. Great stuff, pal. Can't wait for another one of these.

This is amazing! So much information but easy to digest, not too full on 😁. Can’t wait for more
Thanks Tess!

Woohoo zoo school begins and was exactly what I was hoping for. Can't wait for more
Thanks Chris! Glad you enjoyed it :)
What a cool idea for a series! Taking advantage of this wonderful game to foster awareness and conservation efforts for these wonderful animals. Amazing work my man!
Would love to see these exhibits in a functional zoo
What a great start to a really exciting series! I'm definitely going to use what I've learnt to improve my habitats. Great job Jonti!
This is a really unique channel, I’ve been around some youtube Chanel’s that make planet zoo series and this is one of the top 3 so far, very creative, very good with talking and reacting with your audience. It inspires me to make a series myself
I'm a new subscriber to your channel, and as someone that has just picked up Planet Zoo recently, your videos have been a great deal of help.
I love this content! It is wonderful to connect the AZA into this game, and your habitats always turn out awesome!
Probably my favorite build of yours yet! Absolutely amazing! Keep up the good work!

I used to live in Jacksonville and went to the zoo all the time, the tiger catwalk was amazing when you got to see it in use!
Can’t wait for the next episode this was awesome! I love the amount of time and detail you put into your videos and builds!
This has turned out SO well. Honestly, your content quality is always superb but this just exceeded all expectations. Can't wait for more!
I was really hanging for this series, and you didn't disappoint (not that I thought you would!!) Really great stuff, can't wait for more :D

Since you mentioned this I have been so excited. It is finally here!!!!
it looks great! excited for more in the series. looks like it takes a long time but turned out amazing and love learning more about zoo protocol
Now THIS is content! Very informative and different from anything other youtubers are doing. I love it!

ok this is the best series on youtube ever :D one can really tell how much effort and thought you put into it, thank you!
I live in Jacksonville it was so cool to see our zoo being recognized! I love the tiger catwalk, it’s so unique!
I loved this! So interesting to see how you translate the official recommendations for the animal into a habitat. I’d love to see more!
Such an awesome and informative series! I'm so glad I could help out with this, you've done really awesome work here, Jonti!!
This is fantastic Geekism!!!!!
It's weird to hear the phrase "Zoo School" in this context. Because I went to Zoo School in sixth grade. It was actually a school at a zoo.
I think this is one of the better exhibits I've seen you do. Very nice.
As a zookeeper I have to say that this video was brilliant! love the videos that you make and hope you make more of these zoo school videos. can't wait when you do the primates and the apes, because I love them and work with them almost every day :)
This is amazing! I often watch your videos before bed, now I get to learn stuff about zoos and animals aswell! 🤗 Great job! 🥰
This is amazing! Thank you for putting so much thought, time and effort into videos like these. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series, loving it already!
I really like the natural bridge up to the overwalk, looks far better than other options
Please more Planet Zoo tutorials! I love yours, they’re pretty, easy to follow and one of the best! Love it!
If you ever do Grizzly Bears or Timber Wolves. The Grizzly Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone is a great piece for inspiration! (Mostly injured and orphaned animals from the park)
I've been looking at that place a lot for Nuna Kanata inspiration actually, it's fantastic!
Geekism thanks for the like! I definitely see the inspiration! One more great piece of inspiration would probably be the Charles Darwin Research Station on Santa Cruz Island in the Galapagos. Best Galapagos Tortoise exhibits I’ve ever seen!
I LOVE this!! Can't wait for more episodes!
This is so incredibly well designed and creative, so much inspiration to draw from that!
Fantastic concept and video! Can’t wait to see more!!
Thank you :)
I missed the notification for your video, and I was at my nanas, but I saw your tweet! i'm excited to watch, already liked it.
Love the new series!! Would like some timelapses of the work you do for the exhibit, though. Can't wait for the next episode!
Yes! You included Australia zoo. Cheers!
wauw i loved this video! great concept and would love to see more of this, absolutely love how the hab turned out, as its different from anything ive seen others make!
Another great example of an underwater tiger viewing area is the Denver aquarium - I've seen a recent rise in big cats in aquariums lately, I wonder why? I love it!
Yeah I love this! Now this is the sort of school I’d love to go to
ayee hometown zoo~~ the tunnel run at the jax zoo is something special to behold in real life! what a fun and educational series! 💕
loved this build!!! great job as usual. In Bangladesh, these tigers are highly regarded and honestly, for people who live near the Sundarbans rainforest area they are the most terrifying creature. They say that their roars are capable of shaking even mangrove trees
Love how unique this video is and you’re always teaching us something 😊 also the habitat is beautiful as always
I absolutely love this idea and I cannot wait to see more! I really wish I could be a patreon, but at the moment I am desperately trying to pay off a lot of dept. Hopefully I can start being a patreon in March because I appreciate your content so much.
Loving how you mix in facts with your tutorials. Such a quality content. Peace!
What an incredible job you did! I am in love with this series already 😁 Your builds are such an inspiration!
I'm enjoying the mix of creativity and real world rules for the animals. Thank you ❤️
I knew I recognized that layout! I just went there and it is an amazing experience to be that close to a tiger, my boyfriend spotted a ground area they could walk on and thought somehow the tiger escaped and nearly knocked me over trying to move me lol
I keep getting the feeling that real tigers could just climb those rocks, but the exhibit is too pretty for me to care. I love the rock work.
Absolutely loved this, can't wait for more!
I love this series already
Love this! looks great as always!
It looks so much like an actual zoo enclosure! I loved this video so much, it was really interesting.
Hey jonti, great first episode of zoo school! Very informative. The habitat looked great, loved the 'tiger walks' definitely something I need to implement into my zoo. Looking forward to the next one😁👍
That's my new favorite series! Love the realism, keep it up!
The enclosure looks absolutely stunning
I'm not sure if you can tell, or if that's the look you were going for, but 6 of the contrasting beams on your right-hand viewing area are a different color than the other contrasting beams of this build. The ones I'm talking about are on the right-hand side of that viewing area, and the difference is viewable at 14:40.
Awesome work on this one! The well anticipated series is now well received :) One comment/suggestion: I found the Zoo School interlude to be a bit abrupt (audibly).
This is fantastic Jonti! Love this idea, love the video, love the habitat. Perfection!
This is such an amazing idea! What a great way to spread information and entertaining.
I hope Pangolins get their time to shine.
