@@curly_wyn What a ridiculous comment...and I am big fan of Kim Deal. Joey Santiago is a very underrated guitarist and Black Francis is a genius, without him there would be no Pixies, one of the best and most influential "alternative" bands of all time.

The 90s were the peak indie rock in general. Everything from Weezer to Sigur Ros, they were all top notch perfect. *chefs kiss*
Shame I didn’t get into alt/indie until the early 2010s. All my faves come from that era. I tried to listen to the 90s stuff but it doesn’t connect with me as much because there’s no added nostalgia attachment.

Tbh I think Crooked Rain is their best, an absolute 10/10. And Slanted is not like that, but, considering that it's their debut, is a really good Slacker Rock record.
Fairly sure he's stated before that he just thinks the debut is overrated but likes Crooked Rain and Wowee Zowee a good bit

I feel like crooked rain is the only album where they committed to making a (almost) fully serious/professional album and it really shows through the consistency of just straight cool and enjoyable tracks with no level of irony in quality like many of their albums are ridden with
I love pavement but I always wished they strayed away from their self sabotage

@@huhhuh364 I think Brighten the Corners is arguably their most consistent and unironic album. Every song is solid. Crooked has some skips with 5-4 unity and hit the plane down. Still great though
