This is great and worked well on the first try. One thing that would be useful is tips on how to not let this happen, and why it sometimes happens in the first place. Thanks so much for your help!

Thank you SO much! Turning on normal cycle let it drain out. I can't understand why it would not drain since it's brand new and only my 2nd time using it. It wasn't clogged.

I turned on the dishwasher and let it run until it paused, then I pushed the cancel/drain button like you said, and the standing water drained out completely. Thank you!

My home was remodeled about 6 months ago so I was super surprised to see my dishwasher filled with water. I knew it wasn’t the drain line but I checked it anyway. Then I did the start up water drain, who knew it was so easy? Thank you!

my garbage disposal motor stopped working. I can't tell if the garbage disposal issue came from the dishwasher, or if it's the other way around? both issues started at the same time. and for clarification I do have standing water in my dishwasher.

Work to great for me. I wash my dishes and put them in the dishwasher for overnight drying. Just leave the door cracked. Sometimes I forget to do a load in the dishwasher. Show water will build up in the bottom. Then when I finally want to use the dishwasher to wash dishes, it will leak out.

I’ve got the same dishwasher and same problem, I’ve done everything you said plus I ran a snake up the drain hose as far as I could seeing my washer was a little further from my sink, plugs up every other cycle? Possible drain pump no good? Although I do hear it turn on so no sure?

My dishwasher runs in place and won't move on to the next step. If you leave it on for 2 hours, it will do whatever it's set on for the whole 2 hours. We put a filter cleaning bottle in it, which worked, so the water in the bottom has that toxic stuff in it.
