Thanks for the comment. The snag for us is we sometimes have to ride an hour to an hour and a half each way to get too the good trails. Would love to live near the good stuff and have a smaller bike....
The pants are BMW Savanna. I really like them. Similar to the old Rally Pro. Not sure if they still make them but I just bought another pair used today since the ones in the video were pretty much destroyed when I crashed on the highway and had a nice 30+ foot slide on asphalt.
Greatly enjoy and learn from your vids. Gonna have to see if I can pick up a Tekrider vest. Hadn't known of those before. And like you guys, I love nothing more than finding that new turnout to the unknown.
When I first started on dirt I was reluctant to use the front brake as I was worried about locking the wheel and falling. No I find that on steep, loose down hills if you use just the rear brake it will really want to lock, the motor will stall unless you pull in the clutch. If you pull in the clutch you have no engine braking. I find I can apply some front brake and since I'm going slow I can release it if it starts to lock. Works much better.
Nice video as always guys! I live in St-Donat and it is pretty "rocky" around here. Kind of feel like Fred Flintstone. loll Continuez à filmer vos rides les gars. C'est ben l'fun de vous regarder!!
That was my second season on the dirt. Jason is a good sport so he fit right in. I think we've always tried to keep it light hearted and guys who ride with us usually pick up on the vibe and just relax. I'm sure the Mighty DR would have made it, it always does!
I am on chain number 3 after about 18,000kms. Sand and dirt really kills it. The factory chain was also poor quality. Wheel bearings last one season with all the water we do.
I've had a few KLRs and they are good bikes. Get some heavier springs and have fun. Check out the BMW X-Challenge 650. Not many around but great for tall guys.
Just make sure you wear gloves when you do it in the sand pit. Don't wanna get the bike dirty! My stomach hurt when you started taking the HP apart.. :-x
Nope, they don't make them anymore, they got replaced by the Rally Pro series ;-) Very good suit though, I had it for a long time till I switched to my Klim Latitude.
Are you sure Jason has been off roading for only a month? Riding that river bed among those huge boulders up hill on a 250kg bike... I wouldnt ride 100 yards. Then getting lost in the woods with no track to ride, low fuel and yet you have a sense of humor? Then coming to a hault to remove a disc? How long have you been doing this? I wonder how the mighty DR would have tackled this. You are a leader. Well done.
Great video and thanks for sharing, you guys are good but lost me when someone says " very nicely done"? around 6:27 going up the steep rocky trail. Nicely?......rocks/dirt and bent handlebars aren't nice.......I guess that's why i ride junky bikes and have junky friends :)
hey motoriley, thanks for another great vid! just wondering, have you or your buds ever considered getting a KTM 690 enduro? seems like a great bike - and much lighter than an f800 :D
Since I'm searching for new ones right now and hate searching at the same time: Riley, can you recommend your pants and what brand are they? I like the style and since you already tested them I dont have to do that anymore. :D Btw.: I'd love to the the advert if chris ever sells the hp2. ;D
Hey guys, awesome videos! I just started riding a bike here in Germany with my 21 years and i just love watching your videos about offroad riding and all that fun you have. Your "old 800" is a great motorcycle! I drove the F650GS while getting the license. Now I have a 1982 Honda CB250RS. I wondered what kind of HP2 does Jason have? When I google for BMW HP2 (Enduro) only this blue bike shows up, not this kind of white F800GS? So is it a F800GS or a HP2? Keep those videos coming ;)
Homepage is going quite well. its so mutch work... The English version ist missing atm and even die german isn´t finnished jet. if you want to take a look go to getting-lost.de
On the helmet I have it mounted to the side of the chin bar using the GoPro sticky mount. For the rest of the time I clamp it to the bike using a RAM mount arm and a Manfrotto Nano clamp. If you go to apormc dot com and send me an e-mail I can send you some pictures.
Give'em a month or two, and he'll be the one shouting the GIVEE'ERRR to the rest of youz numbnutz.. :-) I like him! And how the hell would you pick up the eighthundreds from those steep inclines when it falls over without The Freak of Nature?! It looks like it would be easier to go buy a new bike when it happens.
AWESOME VIDEO , YOU GUYS ARE DEFINITELY CANADIAN , YOU GUYS SOUND POLITE EVEN WHEN YOU CURSE , FUNNY , LOVED THE VIDEO , GONNA SUB YA , KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK , IF YOU GUYS WANT A REAL ADVENTURE , ANYTIME YOU WANNA COME DOWN TO NYC AND RIDE WITH ME AND THE NUCKLE HEADS I RIDE WITH , I GOT YOU GUYS , OPEN INVITE , JUST LET ME KNOW , THAT WOULD BE SOME GREAT VIDEO !!! MUCH LOVE FROM NYC , FRANK FILIPPONE AKA FRANK RUBICON , LATERS
Gives new meaning to the phrase "gently used".
Nice videos Riley. Subscribed...
Thanks Ed. Hope you have a nice season as well. Cheers.
Thanks for the comment. Chris might be selling one of his bikes in the spring if you are interested?
seems like my kind of group to ride with. I also look for new trails everywhere I go. I like how you guys are up for anything on those heavy bikes.
Awesome videos guys, always a good time. Here's to being home before noon a bunch in 2013 and happy holidays to all at APOMC

The orange thing is a SPOT tracker and the little black square is a remote antenna for the GPS.
Love your videos. From another gravel rider in New Zealand
Those are DoubleTake mirrors. Love them!

Site looks good. My buddy Joe keeps ours running and I know it took a lot of work to get it sorted out initially.

Thanks for the kind words. Cheers.
Just started watching your videos and love them! I like doing riding like this but no one to ride with.
great video i love watching them .keep them comein .
enjoyed all your videos guys, keep it up
Yeah, I just happened to be on here looking around and saw that you posted it 1 second ago :)
We never tried to fix it. Chris probably rode about 1000 kms before getting a new rear rotor in Pennsylvania at the BMW Rally.
13:15 - Nice faceplant, and check that convenient hole that saved the gopro! :-)

Thanks ill order a pair at once! Love ur videos!
Thanks for watching.
You will love it!

I wear a TekVest and now I also have a 661 Pressure Suit.
On the dirt you do use a lot of rear brake.
Hey Nexxxx5299. Jason rides an F800GS just like me. Chris has the HP2 Enduro. It is the HP2 that we removed the rear brake disc from.
There have been a few occasions when I thought about it!
YES, some more fun to watch.
The HD encodes aren't even done yet!
another great video guys!
Just make sure you wear gloves when you do it in the sand pit. Don't wanna get the bike dirty! My stomach hurt when you started taking the HP apart.. :-x
I'll check it out. Thanks for the link.
Cheers

Very good suit though, I had it for a long time till I switched to my Klim Latitude.
You were fast!
Thanks, I'm gonna look out for them. :-)
In the future, just keep dropping your GS in sand instead of asphalt!!

@Chris Drake Not counting the mileage that does not show up when the bikes is sliding down the road on it's side.
Thanks man.
after 21,000km i still use my factory chain.. 50/50 off road. but i have to change now...
@vforce3 Merci pour vos commentaires. Maybe next year you can show us the secret trails that only he locals know about?
We just thought Jason was doing really well for a guy with so little time and experience.
I have my GPS, a remote antenna for the GPS (little black square) and my SPOT messenger (the orange thing).
Come on down! Or is it up?
I use Avid Media Composer. Although anyone of many programs could do the job equally well.
woohoo finally got it loaded again
Great video again ;)
actually 16 hour drive west. I'm from Wisconsin, US :)
hey motoriley, thanks for another great vid! just wondering, have you or your buds ever considered getting a KTM 690 enduro? seems like a great bike - and much lighter than an f800 :D
hell yessss
At least we weren't dragging a chain in all that sand...
Awesome Vid again! Greetings from Germany :)
Thanks !
@Motoriley Given the fame bmw final drives have, I'd take a sanded up chain any day! ;) How many miles on the hp2? It's a sick bike.. :)
You should all get a DR, go to your favorite sand pit, brake down simultaneously and wrench the day away. Much safer then what you're doing right now.
Hi.
For the GoPro. What mounting accessories do you use for your helmet and bike?
Thanks for all the videos!
Since I'm searching for new ones right now and hate searching at the same time: Riley, can you recommend your pants and what brand are they? I like the style and since you already tested them I dont have to do that anymore. :D
Btw.: I'd love to the the advert if chris ever sells the hp2. ;D
You watching at Timmie's?
Yay! A new video!!
That would make good video!
Hey what rear view mirrors is that? those with the wing nut.
Just what ive been looking for =)
With all the crashing and tip overs,I thought this was a halfthrottle video.
nice video you got perfect trip again ı envy you lol
Hi ! What program do you use to edit the videos ? Excellent videos !

So is it a F800GS or a HP2?
Keep those videos coming ;)
How do you use the front brake off-road? How did the HP2 manage without reear brake? And did you fix the benting? :)
I think I have about 17000 miles on it, maybe a bit more. That's 17k of hard miles....
Hey Chris! That's respectable for a molested - but "never dropped" HP! ;)
Homepage is going quite well. its so mutch work... The English version ist missing atm and even die german isn´t finnished jet. if you want to take a look go to getting-lost.de
3 more months till I'm an F800 owner! WooT
How is the web site going?
Too bad Jason lost the video footage from his GoPro...
awesome!
Who use the rear brake?

Ahh yes the land of cheese and "That 70s Show!" Still a bit of a hike though.
Or you could have just waited until he made it up so you didn't clip him. Oh wait. Your a Canadian. Probably French too. Nice vid though.
I'm picking up my for dual sport 2014 f800gs...did you change your sprockets for better off road gear ratio ?
I did for a while but went back to stock. For dirt just don't be shy with slipping the clutch when necessary.
어떤 단어 주셔서 감사합니다.
