- Your choices, your actions, that’s what makes you who you are. #Superman - Only In Theaters and @Imax July 11
“Superman,” DC Studios’ first feature film to hit the big screen, is set to soar into theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures. In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.
DC Studios heads Peter Safran and Gunn are producing the film, which Gunn directs from his own screenplay, based on characters from DC, Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
The film stars David Corenswet (“Twisters,” “Hollywood”) in the dual role of Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult (the “X-Men” movies, “Juror #2”) as Lex Luthor. The film also stars Edi Gathegi (“For All Mankind”), Anthony Carrigan (“Barry,” “Gotham”), Nathan Fillion (the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, “The Suicide Squad”), Isabela Merced (“Alien Romulus”), Skyler Gisondo (“Licorice Pizza,” “Booksmart”), Sara Sampaio (“At Midnight”), María Gabriela de Faría (“The Moodys”), Wendell Pierce (“Selma,” “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan”), Alan Tudyk (“Andor”), Pruitt Taylor Vince (“Bird Box”) and Neva Howell (“Greedy People”).
“Superman” is executive produced by Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo and Lars Winther. Behind the camera, Gunn is joined by frequent collaborators, including director of photography Henry Braham, production designer Beth Mickle, costume designer Judianna Makovsky and composer John Murphy, along with composer David Fleming (“The Last of Us”) and editors William Hoy (“The Batman”) and Craig Alpert (“Deadpool 2,” “Blue Beetle”).
DC Studios Presents a Troll Court Entertainment/The Safran Company Production, A James Gunn Film, “Superman,” which will be in theaters and IMAX® nationwide on July 11, 2025, and internationally beginning 9 July 2025, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Stopping wars and killings in the world regardless of politics and with no interest other than "doing good" is such a Superman thing to do. I'm glad they chose to explore that side of his character.
In the comics he actually ended up renouncing his U.S. citizenship to avoid this sort of thing so I wonder if he’ll do that in this movie
Probably the best way to write Superman tbh, having him binded to the U.S is such a stupid things consider what the U.S actually does

Superman's outrage that someone would question whether saving people was the right thing to do is the most Superman thing ever. James Gunn understood the assignment!

the change in his voice from ¨yea sure¨ to ¨ms lane¨ love it haha
🥰😍💗
When you talk to your homies vs when you talk to your crush
same.
The sentence has several grammatical errors, which are outlined below in paragraph form:
First, the sentence lacks proper capitalization at the beginning and for proper nouns. "The" should be capitalized as it begins the sentence, and "Ms. Lane" should be capitalized and punctuated correctly, since "Ms." is a title and "Lane" is a proper noun.
Second, the sentence is missing punctuation. There is no period at the end, making the sentence incomplete. Additionally, quotation marks are used inconsistently-there is an opening quotation mark before "yea sure" but no corresponding closing quotation mark for the quoted phrases. Proper punctuation and closing quotation marks are necessary for clarity.
Third, the sentence is missing context or structure that makes it a complete thought. It reads more like a fragment or a note than a full sentence. To be grammatically correct, it should be restructured to clearly indicate what is being observed or stated.
Lastly, “yea” should be spelled “yeah” for standard usage, unless intentional informal speech is being quoted.
A corrected version might be:
**"The change in his voice from 'Yeah, sure' to 'Ms. Lane, love it! Haha.' was noticeable."**
@@t1_hodgesThere are several grammar errors in your sentence. First, it is a sentence fragment-it sets up a comparison but doesn’t complete the thought. Second, “vs” is informal and should be replaced with “versus” or rephrased entirely in full sentences. Third, the structure lacks a main verb or conclusion, making it unclear. A corrected version could be: **"How you talk to your homies versus how you talk to your crush shows the difference in comfort."**

I teared up watching this Trailer and that is pretty deep, even for me. Lol
This made me cry a little too. :-)
In case I never get the opportunity to speak to this many people again, I need to say this:
Please be kind to each other, it’s really not that hard. Go out into the world and do good. Even the little things you can do for people can go a long way. Look, if you’re here right now it’s probably because you’re like me and have a love for this amazing character. A character that teaches us how to do good, show kindness, and spread love. I’m not saying we all need to go out and stop a missile with our bare hands…. But do what you are able to do in order to make this world a better place to live for all of us. If we are all going to live together, we need to learn how to love together.
So, don’t spread hatred to one another. If someone says something you don’t agree with, have a discussion about it respectfully.
I know it can be hard to live life like this when people refuse to reason with each other, talk to each other, or even just show kindness to each other…. But everyone has their own heavy load to lift…
And sometimes things are even too heavy for superman to lift. But he never gives up or fails to do what’s right.
You can call me a cornball, dislike my comment, or do whatever you want… I just thought I should say something of note since I’m one of the higher comments and may never get an opportunity to speak to this many people.
Basically, you don’t have Superman’s powers to do good. Do what you can with the powers you have to help one another…
And be someone’s Superman
Finally Superman being reclaimed from right wing grifters.

Superman with self-doubt isn't something I have in my head cannon. I'd rather he be like omni-man with morals.
Sounds like a Superman with a giant ego to me. You’d think a journalist could see the nuance in his actions. No one is all good and no one is above critique, and his disallowance of that questioning has me raise an eye brow. Though, I am getting the vibe that that’s the arc he’ll have to go through

That seems like a good character arc for a young superman to face, as older Superman seems cool with the idea of people not accepting him or his actions, so seeing him learning to accept that should be very satisfying

Yeah, I felt that hard. "But it's more complicated than that!" No, it really isn't. Stopping a war and preventing innocent people from dying is never the wrong thing.
Whether he's truly a "good person" is debatable. As an alien raised with human values, his definition of "good" is filtered through that lens. While he undeniably saves lives, government scrutiny arises from the collateral damage they believe could be minimized with more strategic planning.

It was this kin dof kindness that was completely devoid in the Snyder films, which was so disappointing. Loved Cavill, hated Snyder's depiction of the character.
I can't believe of all the grammar mistakes packed into one sentence. First, “a in Superman Returns” is clearly a typo and should be “as in *Superman Returns*.” Second, the sentence is clunky and confusing because of poor punctuation and word order-quotation marks are used, but the dialogue inside them isn’t punctuated properly. “Really? Never?” should each be treated as separate questions with the correct punctuation. Third, the sentence lacks flow-“His voice when he said ‘sure’ during the interview, sounds like…” is awkward and could be smoothed out by restructuring. A corrected version might be: **"I swear, his voice when he said 'sure' during the interview sounded just like Brandon Routh in *Superman Returns* when he said, 'Really? Never?'"**
@@Billy-bc8pkWow, it’s almost impressive how many grammar slip-ups made it into such a short rant. First, “kin dof” is a clear typo and should be “kind of.” Second, “that was completely devoid” is incorrect-“devoid” is usually followed by *of* something (e.g., “devoid of kindness”), so it should be rephrased. Third, the second sentence is a fragment-“Loved Cavill, hated Snyder’s depiction of the character”-which is fine in casual speech, but not grammatically complete. For clarity and correctness, a revised version might be: **"It was this kind of kindness that was completely missing from the Snyder films, which was so disappointing. I loved Cavill, but I hated Snyder’s depiction of the character."**
This hits me emotionally. In the best way. It shows Superman struggling with morals the way I can relate to. When you want to do good things but the world keeps saying "no".

Seeing any reminder that we live in times where people still do want to help each other is what we need to remember these days when people are working so hard to make sure we dont believe in our ability to help one another.
Major Toby Maguire Spider-Man vibes!! So many movies seem to forget that a superhero is supposed to be saving people and how important those “citizens” actually are to the story.
Just as long as we make sure it's clear that it's a brown person helping him and an angry old white guy throwing stuff at him. Very important. Audiences need to be spoon-fed which skin colors are good and which one is bad.
The way you explained this is SO clear. Thank you

I'm LOVING that we are getting a Superman with actual emotions. It sounds bare minimum, but he is usually portrayed very stoic. The interview scene alone of him defending his actions made him more human than anything I've seen in a long time.
Yes its so skibidi
yeah, i love it. Gunn is showing the side of Superman with actual emotions. He grew up on earth. Superman has a personality.
The past Superman feels like detach. They pictured him as perfect and strong and powerful, leaving out his humanity side.
Some people feel disconnected from Superman because he is too perfect or from another planet.
If this becomes a major blockbuster, i would want to see on the sequel that his power is removed from him ( while trying to help or save another planet - and how he got his powers back ). I really want people to see how Superman struggles... if he still the hero that everyone thinks he is without his powers, so that people can relate to him in some way. They start adding other DC characters slowly.
@SquakGoat lol
That’s a very good point you made. I never realized Superman was always portrayed as more stoic. I always though with Henry cavil, they just didn’t give him enough lines. He was great but I felt like he barely spoke and felt hollow mostly. We saw him cry and scream but it never really happy.

“Buddy, Eyes up here” Superman being humorous but also doing it to get an enemies attention on him instead of civilians….such a Superman thing to do..I can’t wait for this!
Not just that, but I feel like there was some sort of meta angle to that as if to tell us the audience to look up as you know aside from Superman who is famous for flying, the tagline for the original Superman was you'll believe a man can fly. Maybe perhaps I'm thinking too deep on it but it is awesome if that was James gun intention. Can't wait!!!! In JG I trust

One of the best comments on youtube that ive seen about the character, spot on!
Perfect comment. I have no notes.
I mean, Superman lives in a world of cardboard, he has to show restraint.
I love him! I'm just relieved we're getting a director who knows how to write films with heart and give their characters personality. That's the feel I get with this. Snyder's portrayals of superheroes are always so cold, wooden, and formal to me. This superman has warmth and these actors are actually acting, unlike Gal Gadot.

"it's not how you are underneath, but what you DO that is important." Yeah...SO original.
It's a fairly generic and uninspired quote, but sure, why not? As for the trailer itself, it didn't exactly assuage my fears about this movie. It seems to confirm that it's going to be a jumbled mess, just as the leaks warned, but we'll see. I can't even gauge what the tone and premise of this film is supposed to be exactly. Anyway, only two more months remain until we can finally judge it for ourselves, so that's a relief.
the shot of him falling is actually pretty sweet - the camera movements and angles are so lively here
This trailer seemed to be so full of hope and it made me feel like a kid again
I really liked how Clark changed his voice for the interview. That "Miss Lane" sounded kinda cool. It seems Lois is a harsh interviewer, that's classic of her
Yes that’s how she’s always been represented. A classic investigative journalist who goes on the front lines and receives death threats and stuff for her coverage
Yeah he also sounded EXACTLY like Reeve for a second there, I loved that
I like how the moment he starts to get upset he slams right back into Clark. Looks like we finally have a proper post-crisis story where Clark is 100% who he is and Superman is what he can do.
@MRNentertainment7122 like Reeve? That's exactly what I don't like. This new version to be a copycat of Christopher's version
@lincoln2324 He's not a copycat because the DCAU animated one was like that, too. That's who Superman is supposed to be and that's why Reeve was such a great Superman
When he leads forward at the start to address Lois and makes the switch from Clark to Superman, it reminds me so much of Christopher Reeves.
I think we won, guys.

What is an "enterview?"
David Cornswet had mentioned recently he really admires the way Christopher Reeve switched so seamlessly between Clark and Superman. You can see him do the same here when hes getting interviewed by Lois.
I noticed that too!!!
everything is okay except Cornswet face, there is something missing in his face that makes it not Superman for me, maybe to much of a gen alpha/zoomer face? And before you mention it, I feel the same with Cavill, too much of a pretty boy face on him to be Superman.
Exactly even had a slight reverb in the voice to show the drastic shift to a more gruff tone

Something that was missing in Snyder's Superman
Omg that actually have chemistry together
Ever since this film was announced and the teaser trailer hit, I've witnessed so many toxic comments on social media. It's being mocked and bashed on. I'm a grown 56-year-old man who has seen just about every Superman film, cartoon, animated series/movie, and read so many of the comics it's ridiculous. I can't WAIT for this film to be released! All the naysayers can eat kryptonite! This looks amazing, not just because it's Superman, but the other heroes and villains that are in it. And that music! Using the original Superman film composition for this just opened the floodgates of nostalgia and memories for me. I will be one of the first in line to see it!
The underwear takes me out lol.
I know right! I just wanted to comment to people to shut up and be glad DC is stepping up their game by making something with potential, not harass and hate on it BEFORE it even came out. Such arrogance and toxicity started with the Snyder-verse fans when everyone, including them, knows Snyder isn't returning like Superman.
To be fair, this trailer is an awful lot better than the previous one.
@@jjc5407To be more fair, if the last trailer had been the worst trailer in history, it is still better than the entire Snyder-verse put together.
Im most excited to experience Guy Gardner. I loved the character in the comics as a kid, such a fun persona.

But the way this Superman is portrayed... his heart is in the right place, and it gives me so much hope.
the justice league international not going to be in the movie that much so what i’ve heard but who knows
All movies have lots of characters. No one complained about all the other cops in Beverly hills cop. They had a few lines and that's it. Only difference here is ppl may be aware of those characters. Doesn't mean they will have tons of screen time
Jake’s Gunn is good making movies with a bunch of characters and actually making the main character the focal point and story revolves around them
Yeah you're forgetting who's directing though. James Gunn, the directly of super successfully ensemble casted movies like Guardians of the Galaxy and Suicide Squad. That dude knows how to make it work with many characters!!!
Its a bold risk by the director to try to cram this many super heroes into one film. I don't recall it being done successfully before in recent memory. But if anyone can do it, James Gunn is our man.
