I like the idea that all the x labs are connected by underground tunnels, that would make sense if the x scientists wanted to keep a low profile. Something that just occurred to me about why the underground locations have power, the c consciousness or it's monolith minions might be operating the not-exploded nuclear reactors of the cnpp to provide power so they can use the tunnels for transiting around the zone
I know places that have a bunch of buildings all interconnected by tunnels. All of the places that did this, while sometimes also having other reasons, always have "convenience" as part of why they were built. For at least one of them, that is the only reason (though that is just a single tunnel between two buildings and going under a road). "Convenience" means different things in different places too. In that one with two buildings it meant not getting wet from rain or having to deal with traffic. For a campus elsewhere that has maybe 10 good sized buildings connected, not dealing with weather is part of it, but another part is better control of patients. (there is an inpatient wing for mental disorders there). But still, these are schools and hospitals and whatnot that have these passages. Top secret research labs with all that crazy shit in it...... I bet the passages and what is in them make the Maginot Line look like the work of a retarded cockroach.
The Pripyat underground reminds me of the Metro-2 system, a massive network of secret underground tunnels in Russia, rumored to be built deep beneath the Metro-1 tunnels (regular underground railway for civillians) connecting the various secret facilities and government building in case of nuclear attack, providing shelter as well as transportation for government and military personnel to keep the chain of command running, even during nuclear war. The prevalence of railway cars and locomotives in the heart of Pripyat-1 might hint the basis of idea behind it's creation (the central part looks more like an underground control station for underground railway network). I still remember how astonished I was when entering the gigantic inner sanctum of Pripyat-1. After trekking through the claustrophobic tunnels while being harrassed by snorks, the large steel door opens up, and I was thinking: "oh great, more tunnels", before the large gigantic room appeared before my eyes, and I said "holy shit, what's with this gigantic room!?" (probably the largest room in the entire STALKER series, with CNPP wish granter room for a second place)
13:00 The tunnels may have collapsed due to anomalies. There are some gravitational anomalies in underpass, and if they spawn close to ceiling or inside it - they will certainly cause some damage to the tunnel.
In regards to the door sealing/power cutting Militaries are known for cutting corners, if they could get away with fully sealing just the opening doors, they would.
The Pripyat underground was tedious to play because you always need to watch out for your team but yeah, I think locations of SoC and CS somehow connect to the underground even if there are small hints of them being connected. It's a shame we didn't get to revisit this location and explore more of it.
Thanks for identifying the Kaymanov emitters, adds some welcome context to the Stalker 2 "Come to Me" trailer's first scene. I really hope we get to use the Jupiter Underground as a hub for getting around the zone in S2 as it's going to be a single worldspace and could be annoying to navigate otherwise. Rails were very handy for that purpose in Metro Exodus after all.
The most memorable part of this journey for me was going in with my team, Vano and Zulu just instantly became favorites and Strider and the Lieutenant grew on me.
My theory is that the Jupiter underground like any other military/scientific facility has backup generators, and so when nitro reactivated the "main" generator at the Jupiter Factory, it gave the underground backups a "jolt" of power that allowed them to restart.
both are connected those facilites have backup generators but even those have to be mantained and electrical anomalies giving out more than enough electricity to keep everything light up non-stop fit as reason why backup generatos that nobody maintained are running
i think it would be a cool big idea in stalker 2 to make the Pripyat underpass bigger and possibility be able to look at some of the equipment they may have been left behind . And even some info on other item's that where produced in the Jupiter factory. the possibility are endless for expanding the stalker lore . Although i think some things should be kept unanswered as the mystery of the lore of stalker is one of the most fascinating things about the stalker universe.

Interview a Monolith goon and he'll reveal the numerous secret areas that are not known to ordinary stalkers or even the Military and government. Strelok himself used one in Call of Pripyat.
one thing is pretty sure. It will appear in stalker 2 because year or 2 ago i saw a shor tclip on stalker twitter profile and at the ending of the clip there was a scane with the train rolling trough that giant Junction/reloading chamber like a flashback from times before accident. Also it is one of my top 3 climatic areas in entire trilogy.
There are a lot of train carts with coal in all of these tunnels. Maybe one of the X Labs is a coal powered power plant that is still being used by someone.
IIRC the tunnel might actually meant to be for mining in the original design, the bucket excavator in yanov was originally in the underpass in clear sky
I definitely think that the long concrete corridor in the Radar is part of the underground tunnel system, it would explain how they could move material safely (relatively) after the creation of the Zone. Also, all the collapsed tunnels underground, you find lots of them have dirt piled in front of the door. I think this was after the creation of the Zone like you mentioned with the tremors. They must have cleared the tunnels they needed but didn't have the time or resources to get rid of all the dirt, so they just pushed it up to block pathways they didn't need anymore. This also could have been done by the Monolith as q security measure. I'm betting Strelok's group had an easy time getting through the Underground cause it was likely lightly guarded at the time. Once they broke the welds and got through, the Monolith likely repowered parts of the underground so their forces could operate and patrol. Honestly, I don't think there's anomalous power sources running all these undergrounds, because the C-Conciousness mentions the "presence of a power station" as being a great benefit to this location. I think everything is linked to the CNPP, and they just don't care to disconnect the power connection. I could be wrong, and Agroprom may be powered by the Military forces on-site investigating the area. Either way, I love these videos and getting to discuss all these different ideas! I wish I found your channel much sooner!
Always loved fighting with vano and striker. Vano is just plain good people and striders combat voice lines are ice cold badass. Man i remember the first time i opened the doors to the massive chamber. It felt like the largest space ive ever been in a game. Still every time i play through it that transition feels so genuinely good.
Maybe the underground labs and areas still get power from the CNPP, it would somewhat make sense for the monolith to still operate core 1-3 since they remained operational in real life too
The snorks could have been placed there, or worse were placed there or made there intentionally. Maybe as an effect of the gas? then found ways out? all speculative but I find it too odd that so many snokrs are there. Creatures with remnants of repatriation gear fused to them now. They hunt non aderant life why would they go down there in mass? No maskless snorks have been seen odd right? Perhaps exposure to the gas topically over a long time like if you were sealed in or the ones sealing the way left there to become sort of tomb guardians of a way. Or they were dosed with some other compound made in the zone that made our favorite snorky pals maybe combined with this gas or another test and either way dumped down there.
i personally think the snorks were added for gameplay sake. if the tunnel was filled with co2, no breathing creature could survive down there it's just bad writing, or adding enemies just to make the game harder. snorks arent breathing on closed cycle systems, you will still die with a gas mask since theres no oxygen
My personal hypothesis about the power staying on in the zone is that like in real life, the remaining units at the CNPP were kept running, and after the second disaster they kept running either by monolith or some anomalous means.
For the electricity, well, had you ever charge your pda? Maybe zone produce surplus of energy, charging machinery. Or somebody placed special artifact as power source.
i´ve only played anomaly, since the entrance to the underground aparently is placed elsewhere it took me until my 3rd...yes 3rd playthrough to discover the jupiter facotry, i thought till then i thought that sector was off limits.

Just like SoC, I actually far prefered its original Anarchy Cell story :O The clones, the new noosphere forming inside the zone, all fantastic things they didn't end up going over.... and shall now be forgotten :(.
For Power maybe military and gouvernement are just totally lost control on it because of how zone is dangerous and they can't control the infrastructure to disable or enable is some area so they basically let the zone take power and don't really care. Or another thiking maybe the Nuclear Plant he always on in stalker universe and give power to the zone ? We know that in real life the Chernobyl power plant was always running after the accident until the 2000s
