    Excellent information. Was sitting freezing and no hot water wondering what was going on. Reset it a few times and the fault F28 would come back within 2 minutes.
    Followed this video, reset the boiler and happy day's.
    Thanks , thought it was something serious and costly.

    👍👍👍Even though my boiler looks completely different, I managed to identify the pipe. When I disconnected it, it turned out that there was quite a lot of pressure built up, also some water came out. The boiler worked straight away! All that needed doing was to thaw out 20 feet of pipe outside the house (ended up pouring hot water into the plastic pipe, where the rubber pipe connects, as the piece inside the wall was also frozen - don't use boiling water as this will make the plastic very soft, and the pipe might bend). Condensation outlet pipe outside the house in Scotland is a brilliant idea.

    Brilliant video and allowed me to fix the problem in no time. Cancelled plumber call out after a -8 night here which froze the pipe. So grateful for you taking the time to post this 🙏🏻

    I've been out with load after load of hot water on the external condensate pipe all day with hit and miss results, but I knew frozen pipe was the root cause.
    Followed your video, popped the connector hose out and pointed it in to a mop bucket, reset the boiler and yep - straight on. I owe you one!
    PS - for anyone else doing this, it's a good idea to have your mop bucket ready before you disconnect it due to backed up water in the pipe. I found this out the hard way.

    Many thanks for this. Got the error last night - half way through a shower. Called the plumbers who advised to pour water on the outside pipe which I did - buckets of it - to no avail. Waited till this afternoon in the hope it would warm up a bit but still no joy. Found your video and like the others - you've saved my day (and my wife's) Thanks again

    I have this exact issue on my worcester bosch boiler the condensate pipe is linked to the waste pipe internally so it can't get frozen had an engineer out twice today to clear it drainage pipe is clear so no issue with that but the condensate keep backing up and shutting of the boiler . You can drain the trap and will work fine again but few hours later faults reappear wondering if its time for a new boiler though this one was only fitted in 2010 and serviced every 12 months.

    Thanks for this - super helpful and sorted the issue. Quick question, do you reckon I can pour warm water straight down the pipe? Or do i need to heat up the pipe from the outside (issue is my boiler is in the loft so the pipe run is high up on the house)

    • @Bigtel1970
      @Bigtel1970  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you’ll have more luck pouring hot (not boiled) water over the pipe externally if possible? I’m guessing that if the pipe is frozen but full then adding any more water to it will probably just overflow as it could not defrost it fast enough?

    • @ukvip1
      @ukvip1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Bigtel1970 thanks for the reply mate. Yep I think you’re right, was looking for a quick way to fix as the pipe is high up and connects to another drain pipe that drains out onto a flat roof - but will get the ladders out and pour water externally 👍

    Do you know that the condense trap and pipe are actually part of the flue and you have just broken the gas regs and in certain circumstances products of combustion can now enter the room !!! What you need to do is get whoever fitted the boiler back to fit the condense pipe correctly to the regs as it is clearly not to manufacturers instructions . A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing
