Been listening to them for fifteen years, their first Los Angeles concert was in April. Sold out in like a fucking day. Luckily they came back to California and I would've missed them again since they sold out LA again on the twenty ninth. Luckily, I got tickets to see them in San Diego and drove almost a hundred miles to enjoy their first concert in San Diego. The moral of my story is that all concerts take a bit of effort to attend. That is, unless you're like my mom who won tickets to see Slayer and a few other bands during the 80's. I have no idea what radio station she called into, but she got free tickets to the show that night over thirty years ago. Meanwhile, I never got to see them live. Life is funny like that.
That last look Tom had in his face at 12:00 as if he was reflecting the last 34 years of shredding and realizing this is really it, it’s incredible to ever think they will one day be done. Hopefully we get another album someday.
Yeah prob for venue screens, but maybe the did a documentary or movie for the last tour or some sort of video that’s gonna come out 🤷🏻♂️ but it’s slayer so maybe not
Most of it was for the video screens but they also were recording a documentary type thing... A very proffesional camera setup was going through the crowd on the first night interviewing fans... so that will be a something somewhere... unless it was just for the band to watch. Pretty cool either way.
it always amazed me how they kept playing at the same level as in the 80s, except for the drums of course since they kicked Lombardo out, Araya's screams are unbelievable, compare a 1986 Angel of Death to this and be blown away

Got emotional... In my bedroom got a Slayer banner saying 'Soundtrack to the apocalypse'. Well I now feel it's appropriate. Greatest thrashband ever! Period. Will miss you guys playing live!!!
This one is for my buddy LT, the biggest Slayer fan I've ever known, and had Slayer tattooed on his arm. In 1986 we slept in his truck in below freezing Denver weather to get front row in a tiny venue the following night. We met all the original members that day and got autographs. Sadly, LT took his own life on December 1, just two days ago and just one day following Slayer's last show. I'm devastated but will always cherish the good times we shared because of music. RIP brother.
@@mitchvechart7164 It'll depend on his financial situation I guess. It's why Motley Crue are back together despite Vince Neil sounding like a cat being castrated nowadays.
Well Kerry King himself thinks the retirement thing is bullshit. So his hats in the ring. I can't remember which article it was from? But it's out there and it's recent
Honestly, why couldn't it have been Metallica? They're overrated and they sold out the fans a long time ago but Slayer has never changed. Always at the top of their game and always giving the fans the best show at every show! I hope they have the best of times in their retirement and if they do ever come back, they'll still be #1 to all of us!!! It won't be a novelty reunion, it will be Slayer, raining blood like they never left!!!!
Expect slayer did chanage their sound to fit in with nu metal they admitted as such meanwhile metalica just wanted to change their sound out of fear of becoming stale
Even if you don't listen to them, the sad realization of time pushing a generation, that I myself grew up with, to the end is so tough to deal with. Thank you Slayer for relieving the pain and anguish that we endured and bringing the heavy metal to our hometowns.

I've seen them 11 times.
That last look Tom had in his face at 12:00 as if he was reflecting the last 34 years of shredding and realizing this is really it, it’s incredible to ever think they will one day be done. Hopefully we get another album someday.
We all should raise our heads and fists towards the sky and have a moment of SLAAAAAAAYEEEEEEERRRRRRRR
I see a lot of cinema-style cameras all around. This is definitely going on blu-ray some time down the line.
SteelSkin667 no, it was for the video screens. It wasnt professionally filmed
They have been playing the same songs live for 30 years
@@patientmental875 it's a shame the set list hasn't been very varied trough the years but the quality of Tom's voice is astonishing
No. I disagree strongly. I saw 'em in 91/92 when they were gods.
Saw 'em again around 2005 and they sucked, they really did. It was awful.
@@patientmental875 not really you must watch shows that have the same setlist. If you count the god hate us all tour and all of that then you wouldn't say that
@Gop it seems that you're the one who lacks ears, kid
I was there for both nights
First night was amazing in every way!
The second show; the final
Was such an emotional rollercoaster
Long live the almighty SLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYER ❤️
Slayer is the reason I picked up a guitar and I can't believe how my life and love for music would look like today without them. Thank you Slayer happy retirement!
A man that totally gets what is important. Took 10 minutes to absorb the moment and appreciate the crowd and what he accomplished.
All in any long career in any field can learn a lot from how Tom handled this last 15 minutes.
Tom is so humble and truly grateful. I’ve always admired him for that. “Thank you for being a part of my life”
Its so amazing to hear Tom Araya's voice doesn't fade..still feels like I am listening/watching way back 90s..
I saw another video where Tom is just soaking it all in at the end of the show. I can really see that he is going to miss it all.
That was a hard part to see when they came to my city. I've read that he's wanted to retire for some time but I imagine it's something remarkable to leave behind.
He did that every night on this tour basically.
@@keefriff99 : Can you blame him?
He cried walking off the stage when I saw them
In Asheville he made direct eye contact with my younger brother when I picked him up on my shoulders. He said he got chills when it happened
Where women cried:
OMG, my boyfriend broke up with me 😭😭😭
Where men cried:
14:50
12:23
Nahh this is where demons cry bloody tears

stupid comment
I feel sadness, big thanks to guys for all life long soundtrack...
L.A. Where it started and ended. Thank you slayer.
Thanks for the upload. You recorded a historical moment in Thrash history for us. The crowd should have been shouting "See You Next Year!".
I spent years caught in the hellhole of drug addiction, unable to afford concert tickets because all my money went to dope. I am SO, SO SO very grateful I got clean in time to see Slayer not once, but three times before they retired. Thanks for this vid. Kinda brought me some closure, and got me all choked up, god damnit!
I’m not crying, my eyes are just sweaty
Thank you Tom, Kerry, Jeff, Dave, Gary, and Paul. You were and are such a large part of my life. Love you guys.
Never got 2 see em live but they changed my life
Same. I really wanted to see them live too, but they sold out the shows so fast. Was unbelievable.
Yeah
@@Charles_Anthony Me too. I remember they were playing a bar in New Haven, CT and my bud tried to get tickets. Sold out in minutes. Reign In Blood tour.
Same...I've seen alot of great bands but Slayer slipped through my fingers...
Who the heck would down vote this?? Why?? This is heartfelt and fantastic. Slayer, and metal, forever!
Wow! Just Wow! Thank you so much for uploading this. Quite emotional and I wasn't expecting that.
You can notice that a Tom, REALLY cares about the fans. The only one.
An iconic metal band, the best live show I ever seen and that will continue to inspire new generations. 🤘
Saw them in the ‘80’s, saw them recently this summer in Pittsburgh. I will miss them but thank the dark side we have their albums, TH-cam, videos etc!! Long live the best HEAVY metal band ever!!
12:20 when you realize its really over.... Thanks for the upload!
I was shocked about that gesture.... How difficult could it be just to finish on top? Damn...
I got lucky to see them live in 2012. They absolutely kicked ass and didn't even disappoint. Watching this made me realize how much Tom was taking in that the time had ended. You can hear how much he appreciates his fans. This band made my childhood and teens absolutely kick ass. Thank you Slayer for the badass music. Happy retirement
This band made me who I am today, 25 years of Slayer. Thank you for the memories, the passion, the music and the greatest band of all time.
Just discovered and really indulged into slayers music a few months ago, I'm having a hard time coming to terms with knowing I'll never be able to see them live. Legends 🤘
i have seen SLAYER 5 times in my life all with Hanneman...... farewell my friends
I'm 16, only got to see them live twice but both shows totally rocked
Thank you Slayer. You were part of my youth and will continue to do so during old age.
I was there, cried like a damn baby not gonna lie. Very hard seeing a band you grew up with retiring. Kerry dropping the chains on stage was what broke me the most apart from Tom's goodbye and staring at the crowd
I was fortunate enough to see this. At the end the someone in the pit was chopping onions and the whole crowd hugged it out afterwards
12:24 Kerry finally got to get rid of all those keys to the tour bus.
The biggest lie a Rock/Metal band will ever tell you
"This is our farewell tour"
Can't wait to see them again in 3 years!
2 more years to go!
I think they’re DONE done to be honest. I think Tom’s just happy to be spending more time with his family.
@@mitchvechart7164 It'll depend on his financial situation I guess.
It's why Motley Crue are back together despite Vince Neil sounding like a cat being castrated nowadays.
@@mitchvechart7164 They WILL be back.
Well Kerry King himself thinks the retirement thing is bullshit. So his hats in the ring. I can't remember which article it was from? But it's out there and it's recent
I'm not a true fan of slayer, but damn, I'm holding my tears, I feel genuine love for them.
Hardwired gives me hope
@@firk_figgler Metallica concerts are still pretty good, the crowds just suck
Expect slayer did chanage their sound to fit in with nu metal they admitted as such meanwhile metalica just wanted to change their sound out of fear of becoming stale
Metallica is going to ensure that they are the last of the big four to retire.
Even if you don't listen to them, the sad realization of time pushing a generation, that I myself grew up with, to the end is so tough to deal with. Thank you Slayer for relieving the pain and anguish that we endured and bringing the heavy metal to our hometowns.
I was There at the November 29th show it was my first metal concert they are one of my favorite bands of all time
I hope you had a great time dude
You're so lucky. Definitely one of the best bands to start your concert going career seeing. Never got to see them live, but it was never meant to be I suppose.
R.I.P SLAYER!
Bro, I was there too, my first time seeing them and last time at the same time, it was fucking nuts, had to go all the way from Mexico to Los Angeles just to see them. Worth every peny
14:32 security - “he’s going to cry” ofc Tom wants to cry last show ever dude. And then he tell people to get out of here c’mon man
Love how Kerry dropped the chain. 12:23
Still can’t believe I was able to catch them in May when they came through kc. Such a fantastic show with behemoth, Amon amarth, and LoG
Tom: a class act to the very end. 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I saw the Springfield show on November 8th. It was the best sounding and most entertaining concert I’ve ever been to! If they do a reunion tour, there is no way in hell that I’ll miss that. SLAYER!!!
20/09/2013, São Paulo, Brasil!
Eu vi esses caras tocarem aovivo. Um dos melhores dias da minha vida. Obrigado Slayer.
This is really heartbreaking. I was really hoping that one day I am going to see you guys live when I was a kid but yeah, unfortunately, I will never. Thank you SLAYER for your songs and everything. Hail SLAYER................LOVE YOU GUYS!
Gutted they're retiring or the main 2 original members! Still sound incredible and like they were over 30 years ago! Thier Download show this year was incredible as always. Legends 🤘
Thank you Slayer, thank you for everything...You've been here for me in good and bad times, when I was sad, mad, depressed, drunk, sober, happy..at every occasion! 35 years of aggression are behind us! No longer at shows, just in our hearts and trough our speakers! SLAYEEEEEEEARGH!!! \m/
I'm crying. I have three favorite artists of all time and this video showed one of those artists' last concert. I love you Slayer. Thanks for everything.
I'm so glad that i got to see them in an concert back in the days, they are still one of my favorite bands :)
Me too..especially when Jeff and Dave were around.
Tom: One more?
Crowd: YEAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!
Tom: Picture
Crowd: -_-
Holy shit... Thats so sad..
Thank you for EVERYTHING!
#GODLISTENSTOSLAYER
@Jesus Christ its okay, my son...I forgive you
@Jesus Christ no. I forgive you.
The first time that Tom's not smiling and lighting up the world with his smile.
Thx Slayer
MSG was my first venue when I saw them. A Roseland Ballroom show landed on the date of my birthday and I shook hands with them before they took the stage. Jeff was with them at the time. I'll always treasure that experience. Irving Plaza was nuts, couldn't believe we all squeezed in there. Thank you for all the memories. \m/.
Thank you sharing this for us to Europe. Im very happy when saw them 3 times in Finland. Thank you Slayer, music never die.
You got to see them three times? That's pretty badass!
There's going out on top, then there's THIS! I hope the cameras were filming the whole show for a DVD. Thank you, Slayer.
I am not crying. Okay I am, but it the fact I never got to see these guys live at all and I really wanted too. Well we will have amazing albums to remeber them by.
I saw them in Spokane the week before this concert. They did the same thing, showed gratitude to the fans. I flew 2k miles , my last chance to see them and it was epic. Hail
