Its amazing how Universal can build an entire park faster that Disney can finish a ride. Based on how long Tron and Cosmic Rewind took, the Avengers ride wont be ready until 2027, if we are lucky!
And when it does open it’ll end up being a copy of a ride already at the park just with the avengers slapped on it, or it’ll be a new ride but will suck because it’s low budget
Tbf Universal probably starts working on their new stuff years before they announce anything, they just have the hood sense to not reveal anything too early and make people wait longer.
A bit disappointed that the original ride idea doesn't seem to be happening. I was so excited to see how they would do the individual flight.
One way that they could have done is something that has a translucent face shield. (Think astronaut helmet, except not so close) w/ a LED screen layer built into it. Each seat has some level of motion. When you are together, you see the scene that playing (physical, animatronic, screen or a combo). When you are "apart', the LED mask lights up (and goes opaque from the outside) and you get your individual "ride" Then they play a sequence to comeback together and then make the mask translucent again. Easy to say, hard to do (but the tech is all there). If they wanted full motion, the they could have used the kuka-like robotic arms.

Exactly that quinjet ride was high budget (even being called an e ticket by Disney themselves) and was creative. But instead they were being cheap and cancelled it for the seemingly lower budget multiverse ride. Which suspiciously isn’t being called an e ticket anymore and is hinted at being heavily screen based. I have a feeling if Disney even bothers to start construction on it in the next 5 years if we are lucky, it’s going to open and everyone will realize it sucks. It’ll probably be a clone of another ride or a new ride type but will still end up sucking due to low budget. Or it’ll just be meh. I’m hoping that since iger is back he will revive the quinjet ride but knowing that iger is far from perfect I doubt this will ever happen. We were robbed of an amazing ride
I’m SO excited for the new Multiverse themed ride at Avengers Campus. What really has me most intrigued in the concept artwork is seeing some of the animated characters mixed with the live-action characters. That’s going to be very cool to see.
If they merge them I'd love it. Like Into the Spider-Verse but dialed up to a 12.
It will most likely be very similar to Universal's Back to the Future/Simpsons ride system that rises up to a domed screen and has multiple ride vehicles going through at once.
I don’t believe the “we don’t have enough to a budget” excuse. The parks make Disney the most amount of money. But they are spending less and less money on the parks. They have the money.
Exactly Disney could have built that awesome high budget quinjet ride but instead they decided to cheap out and instead build the lower budget multiverse ride. I was hoping iger would revive the quinjet ride but knowing how he is far from perfect I doubt it will ever happen. We were robbed of an amazing ride and this multiverse ride will probably suck or just be a clone of an already existing ride at the park
The new Multiverse angle of the attraction in my opinion is a great idea and will allow for more creativity than the original idea.
Now if we can just get Disney to unshackle Galaxy's Edge from a specific timeline...
I will wait till the Avergers Ride gets announced for the 3rd time at D23 2024.

The Peter Pan ride system is actually going to be a tracked ride system like Spider-Man or transformers at the universal parks.
The lack of sufficient capacity is 100% a fair excuse for having to scrap the OG idea, but it does make me wish Disney wouldn't be so trigger happy with getting us excited on ideas that aren't feasibly possible. The OG ride system seems way more fun & unique, but im holding out hope they'll still blow us away with the new tech/ride system
I really wish they'd just add a roller coaster to Avengers Campus. They could easily reskin Cosmic Rewind to the Multiverse concept. They already have a screen-centric ride with Spider Man right next door.
At the very least, clone Rockin' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios, Florida, but retheme it to Marvel as they recently did at DLP. Relatively "cheap" by today's standards, they've already built it in other parks (twice), only one animatronic required (Ironman)
I was really excited for the solo flight but I’m sure this ride will be amazing too! Although my new most wanted part of avengers campus is for them to put Rogers! the musical in the Hyperion theater. That would be such a perfect fit and I really want to see that happen.
We don't know yet. It could be sitting together in a 4 in asimulator

The avengers ride is sounding like an updated form of Star Tours and I mean that in a good way.
I believe that that promo was showing some of the testing that went into Flight of Passage. An Imagineer on a podcast said that they first tried to determine the range of motion needed to feel accurate and went on to describe a system similar to what is shown there.
When I saw a video of the avengers ride plan of a quinjet, I thought it was going to be like a Star Tours ride.

3:21 I knew the Quinjet E-ticket would be returning but after hearing the revision I think this could be even better than we expected.
I'll admit it's is very disappointing that the original concept fell by the wayside but we really can't blame Imagineering cause while we were in the early days of the pandemic the plans for upcoming inevitably had to be either reconfigured or put on hold for the time being but I'm excited for them to FINALLY add a brand new experience in Avengers Campus.
I can’t believe this new multiverse ride is going to be a thing it’s so imaginative and gives way to add new characters as the movies and shows go on with updates like avengers campus meet and greets so the actual ride id say doesn’t need much tweaking I love simulator rides and a marvel multiverse one is more than enough fun for me maybe with new scenes added every once and a while if characters could be added
I absolutely love how the concept artwork shows Steve Rogers in his Hydra Stomper from What If…? and Peter Parker from Spider-Man: Freshman Year. That makes me excited to see if we’re going to see a blending of live-action and animation in this ride.

I think it'd be funny if this ride got brought up in the Kang Dynasty, like just as a throwaway line.
In the new concept art for mmrr, I would guess that given that the Mickey doesn't have a face, those will be additional animatronics or at least have a face projection mapped on (?)

The idea of “jetpacks” was awesome in the artwork, but I bet the execution was super difficult. It seems like everyone was going to be lifted into flight on their own little kuka-type arm. Can’t imagine how someone else’s kuka arm in your sight line wouldn’t be distracting and ruin the magic.
If the quality of the new ride is Flight of Passage level, it’ll be a hit, but I’d like to see a pre-show filled with animatronics. With all the Marvel stuff they’re doing, it seems like Disney isn’t taking advantage of how relatively easy it would be to make full-facemasked characters like Black Panther, Spidey, Ironman and Moon Knight.

For a new ride, I would've done an indoor coaster with a system similar to that of Cosmic Rewind or flying coaster similar to FLY at Phantasialand in Germany as there's nothing like either coaster near Disneyland plus the resort hasn't gotten a ground-up new coaster since DCA opened in 2001 even though Space Mountain & Big Thunder Mountain did get retracked in 2005 & 2013 respectively.
As other commentators have theorized > the AC ride might be an updated version of the 'Star Tours' simulator ride.
This announcement was vague at best and Disney over promises and under delivers, so I'll believe it when I see it. Nothing to get excited over.
Same, they did the same thing with the quinjet e ticket ride that was supposed to go behind that empty building at California adventure. But they replaced it with the new idea that will be another cheap lackluster ride, the original plans were so much better
I hope they also bring the quinjet ride in the future

I’m surprised no one’s pointed this out, but I think one reason why Disneyland’s getting an entirely different Avengers ride from the one they were supposed to get *might* have to do with Chadwick Boseman’s death.
The original ride was supposed to take place mostly in Wakanda, so it’s safe to assume that Black Panther would’ve played a significant role in the ride. And since most of the ride’s film segments most likely would’ve been filmed in 2018-19, and Disney likely would’ve continued their tradition of bringing back the MCU actors to reprise their roles in the rides, it’s probably safe to assume that they filmed quite a bit of stuff with Chadwick before he passed on. And it probably would’ve been a case of “too soon.”
So in addition to using a more reliable ride system, it’s possible that this new redesign of the ride would allow Disney to use Shuri's Black Panther as opposed to T’challa’s Black Panther.

3:21. The Avengers Campus is sure to be Marvel-ous when it flies its way into Disney's dreams. The third ride I would like for it to have would be a tour of the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier.
Just the mere thought of the multiverse theme for the Avengers ride does merit a lot of potential.
Universal rightfully get flack for relying heavily on screens and simulators but Disney get treated differently normally a lot better for doing the same thing

I was surprised to see that the Hulk is coming to Disney parks. Now I do hope that it could be possible for Donald to meet the Hulk in a stage show of sorts. Also surprised of the World of color return with a new show. Something tells me that the Hulk appearance in Avengers Campus is a hint of a Possibility of Pete entering the Disney Parks as a meet and greet character in the future.

People keep talking Project Exo and it being used for the actors so it’s easier for them to move, but think about how much more fluid movements you could have from larger animatronics like a King Thanos Animatronic or a new Yeti in Expedition Everest

I am really excited for this new multiverse concept. It would be cool if we went multiverse hopping in the ride, and saw different version of the Campus through the ride!
I kind of get the impression that it will sort of be a Rise/Indy hybrid. I’m thinking it will utilize lifts and drops like Rise, but the ride vehicle will also be able to have lateral and forward to back movements like Indy. Then, on top of that, utilize modern visual effects, maybe even some form of VR. Now that sounds like a ride worth waiting for!!!
Or it could still be a coaster of sorts. Cannibal at Lagoon in Utah, which is an EXCELLENT coaster (one of the best IMO), has a ride vehicle that is 4x3. Coasters don’t have to be only two wide

really like the new story. Honestly it's benefitted from being delayed.
I do think this new ride system is perfect for the MCU specifically as the always expanding roster of characters means that we could see ride scenes updated with new characters every year (like how Star Tours adds new locations)

3:21. I think this new Avengers Multiverse attraction of gonna be really cool, but at the same time I wish it was going to be a Quinjet attraction hence that's what’s on top of the building. As for what 3d ride I would have wanted? Well me being a big Tony Stark/Iron Man fan, having a flying experience as Ironman would be totally awesome! Or a Big hero six mission ride would be cool to tie ion with the re-themed land in my opinion. By the way Jack. What happened to your pin giveaways for best questions?

I would do something simular to the Rise of Resistance ride where we first could take the quinjet to an reload area where we can see a lot of superheroes animatronics (like the stormtroopers) prephering for a mission and then board the trackless ride vehicles to have a multiple vehicle fight scene among those superheroes. J.
Stop at 3:45 in this video and look carefully at the concept rendering -ground level just right of center - doesn't that look like a two-seat ride vehicle hanging from an overhead gantry? Maybe that was the original ride system concept?
No it most definitely is the original artwork. I was just using it as we don’t have the new outside exterior artwork yet. That is a test seat for the previous ride concept.
While I’m not super excited about another screen based ride, it would allow them to more easily update the ride with new scenarios and new characters as additional movies/series are made
On rail shooter What If Marvel based ride? Could be pretty cool especially with the addition of the Mulitverse.
It be cool if they did the avenger's Ride like universal studios for back to the Future how the car looked like it rose out and then the reveal of the huge IMAX screen dome. And have that in 3-D.
When did that first bit of (now old) concept art come out? I've never seen that one before! Seems to confirm that the original idea was from the controlled pendulum patent. Disappointed that they aren't still going with that but definitely glad we still get a ride!

I love that new avengers phase 2 ride and i would improve it by adding some audio animatronics to the ride it self.

I have a feeling that the new Avengers ride is going to use either VR or AR technology similar to the Mario Kart ride at Universal.
Having the ride come with helmets that project the marvel super heroes onto the real sets and (hopefully) animatronics. It's the perfect way to mix and match various Marvel characters like how Star Tours has a mix and match plot, for when the X-Men eventually get into the MCU.

So, Avengers Quinjet ride had been cancelled to make way for a new unnamed Multiverse ride in Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure?
It makes a lot of sense as to why the Quinjet attraction wouldn’t work out. It could be because they didn’t have the sufficient budget and they weren’t able to make the ride system work. That said, I am looking forward to this new attraction. Awesome video.
As for Pacific Wharf’s revamp, I’m a bit torn on the idea. I thought it would be a brand new land. I kinda wish they keep the Pacific Wharf theme of it instead of revamping it to fit an IP.
Let's hope it's better than that lame Webslingers ride. I waited over an hour to ride and wouldn't repeat it even if it was a walk on.
It seems like they expanded the scope of the story only to lower the capabilities and versatility of the ride vehicles.

Disneyland resort has been slowly turning into universal studios with all their simulation rides. Nothing has been original since the little mermaid ride opened.
Isn't the Bakery Tour in Pacific Wharf, and if so, will it still be there if they change it to San Frantokyo? Because I love that place (mostly for the bread and the theme song, but still)

I'm disappointed by this pacific warf redo. This area is one of the few successful lands in DCA 1.0. Adding a San Frantokyo overlay is just not necessary. Especially with the addition on the Golden Gate Bridge. It is such a calm place and a nice reprieve from the activity and energy of the rest of the park. It's a disappointment that this will go away to give way to another IP overlay.

At the moment we don't know if in 3 more years de new ride downgrade again and turns into a classic ride with wood decors like peter pan.. just a bit dissapointed in general with D23.
While the concept of the multiverse ride seems fine idk about the ride vehicle. Personally would have loved to see the system from flight of passage used to put you inside the Ironman armor. Using the same story of connecting to it remotely.

I think that multiverse ride should be very interesting because it is branching off into the more comic “Fan Fic” elements. A 3rd ride I would like to have is maybe a Doctor Strange Themed ride were you take on the role of the apprentice of Wong or Dr. Strange and almost like Guardians moving vehicle but more of a physical element than virtual.
I was thinking of something of a roller coaster type ride for Shang Chi that involves seeing all the different creatures and animals that reside in Ta Lo and riding on the back of the Great Protector. Something like the Hagrid motorcycle ride at Universal Studios.
I wonder if the ride system will be anything like the old back to the future ride/Simpsons ride system. Seeing the concept art that seems plausible but I don’t know if the show building in the concept art could even point to anything like that. But I guess we will see when the ride opens or when permits or more concept art are reviled. But yes I do agree d23 this year was Disappointing.

Walking around Galaxy's Edge Wouldn't Make Sense because Wampa's are Supposed to be Snow Carnivorous Monsters which are dwelled on Snow planets such as Hoth.
Personally, I really liked it. I’m not a hardcore parks fan, but that doesn’t mean I can’t get very excited about a new attraction like this or a new cruise ship like the Disney Treasure.
@@isaiahvilla6691 It does not have to be in galaxy's edge, they could put it in launch bay. Just make launch bay a meet greet location where the characters are only for a limited time sort of like what they're doing at avengers' campus. This is also how they could include Mando at Hollowood studios. Somehow Disney doesn't realize this despite that thing and his sidekick printing money like no tomorrow.
