  • From the very beginning Prudence Farrow Bruns recognized an added layer or texture to her life, a spiritual dimension that would take her deep within.
    She was among the first in the West to become initiated into Transcendental Meditation and in the mid sixties she traveled to Rishikesh, India to learn to become a TM teacher. Her own teacher in India, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi who is credited for bringing TM to the world.
    In India with her at this time, her sister and acclaimed actress, Mia Farrow, The Beatles, Mike Love of the Beach Boys, Donovan and others.
    Prudence and her husband, Albert Bruns who is also a TM instructor, live in Seagrove along the Gulf of Mexico in Northwest Florida.

    Thank you Prudence,. Thank you to the interviewer. Heart filled. Wise. And very informative to one here who was also called to the spiritual path at a young age. Maharishi opened my heart and mind to the profound knowledge of the Vedas. That was nearly fifty years ago and though my destiny led me to other teachers, his wisdom continues guiding me to this day.

    She comes off to me as an intellectual.... .A person that has had enough guts to follow her own chosen path in life.. One of the many that are brave enough and committed enough to blow off other peoples judgements and keep themselves in good mental and physical shape it takes a lot of doing let me tell you .. It does take a strong mind and a good moral grounding to follow ones believes and a heck of a lot of hard work to accomplish ones goals, dreams...Good for her..most people don*t they get influenced or misdirected by the negativity of others or just get lazy and give up.. I wish everyone well ...Again good for her !!!!

      +Souljourns, I was Purusha in Brjuhovichi Ukraine from 1993 and I was looking for videos early ones from that time and found the video on the side of the youtube and checked it out like I did few times before , but unfortunately many over 90 % of people in the Movement cant speak with straight forward honesty I feel the underlying synthetic thread,EXCEPT HER talk so I left the comment. My name is Jozef Kujundzic Governor from Serbia / Ex Yugoslavia in that time 68 when I born :) Did some 15 y on Purusha program traveled the world with the Movement and had my experience of TM the world and people in it. No one is near to that what Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was -unfortunately, ,and I still miss HIM!

    Actually, I am a teacher of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation program. I lived in India for four and a half years, so am familiar with the significance of the number 108. (Did you know there are, on average, 108 diameters of the Sun between Earth and Sun? Same for the Moon). I have had the pleasure of knowing Prudence and her husband, Al, since 1972. Her spiritual presence, which can be sensed in the video, is, not surprisingly, much greater in person. Much love, Sai Ram, Jai Guru Dev.

    I come from the Philippines. ( Where is Prudence now? ) When l was a High School Senior I remember being engrossed in the music of the Beatles not knowing in the 1980s l will be lucky to meet the Beatles' Guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in New Delhi, India. At the Vedic Science Conference, I stayed with Him for about 4 months. There from other nations, thousands of TM Teachers, TM Governors, Sidhas & Meditators listen to the Guru lectures morning, afternoon and evenings. We could ask Maharishi questions and the Guru readily gave answers.

    Then Maharishi said these foreign Yoga Meditation-Sidhi Practicioners came to the Philippines and spent their own money for airplane fares & hotel room and food bills to prove the powerful effects of Yoga in stopping violence and promoting unity and harmony in society. Now they have to go back to their country. So the Philippine National Government, the Private Sector and the Citizenry must provide for the establishment of such coherence group. It could be a whole school or some other groups to practice once in the morning and once in the afternoon this Yoga Meditation and Sidhis to obtain such benefits for individual and society then they do their studying in school afterwards or working in offices, factory, even in the military or community as the case maybe.

    During the early 80s, His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi invited from various nations 2,000 Teachers & Practicioners of Yoga Meditation & TM Sidhis to go to the Philippines to attend anew a Vedic Conference and do their Yoga Meditation & Sidhis by renting the Top Hotels which were then being threatened by Terrorist bombs to prove the powerful effect of Yoga Meditation-Patanjali Sidhis.

      Albert Bruns Thanks Albert, please give me love to Prudence. I'm sure it's a great book and I look forward to getting it one day. The brief life story Prudence spoke of in our interview was just fascinating. I still do TM, along with a few variations along a similar theme. You get to a point where awakening from the hazy illusory notion of a phenomenal world becomes the biggest game in town. It's the one attachment that remain kosher. Maharishi played a key role when the Philippines experience a period of political turmoil by showing how powerful are the social effects of Yoga Meditation & Patanjali Yoga Sutras in reducing and the stopping violence by anti-government forces during the "light a fire movement" by rightist groups who bombed Metro Manila Top Hotels & Shopping Malls to frighten foreign investors, foreign tourists & local business hoping by destroying the national economy so that the Philippine Government then led by President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. would be deposed.

      radiokevin There are scholarships available for people truly in need. Prudence has tremendous integrity. She will teach you for the rest of her life at no charge. What we get from Prudence is immeasurable. I had been meditating for 40 years, but she taught me how to reach a depth which was generally difficult for me. The technique is amazing and I am very grateful. My life has been changed in a very short time.

      And so, you expect her to teach for free when you have money to spend?
      The David Lynch Foundation teaches TM for free to various groups. The fee you pay is not just for the initial instruction but for a free lifetime followup program any every TM center in teh world (there's about 600 of them including ones in Mongolia, Uganda, and various other "exotic" places).

    • @radiokevin
      @radiokevin 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      no, not free. but when she lowered the price, THEN called my friend (who I referred) and told HER, "I have one available Scholarship to put you in for free"....well, I gave up at that point. Yeah, I get it, make up a nonsense word, and repeat it over and over , until you are in a deep state. got it.

    • @LawsonEnglish
      @LawsonEnglish 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Here is (as I understand it) how things work:
      The TM organization expects the teacher to send $960 to them and they send $480 back to the TM teacher.
      If the TM teacher is independently wealthy, she can offer half price by simply adding $480 from her own bank account to the $480 that you pay, and send the TM organization $960. She then gets $480 back and puts it BACK in the back.
      Alternatively, the TM organization can take some excess money lying around and put it into the pot and require Prudence to only send $760. She still gets $480 back because the TM organization had a donation/excess revenue account handy to do that.
      Some local friend of Prudence' can also donate money, and make your cost lower as well.
      BUT, Prudence and every other TM teacher needs to get that $480 unless they are independently wealthy because she pays for food clothing shelter AND the rent on the local TM center (often her home).
      So... there's often a limited number of scholarships available, depending on all the givens, and my question to YOU is: who has better financials, you or your friend?
      that may be why your friend got the discount and you didn't. It also may be that Prudence got word about scholarships after you learned. Things change day by day, afterall.

      There is nothing in this interview where she paints herself as a saint. In fact she reveals her wounds throughout. A genuine spiritual path does not eliminate the Shadow until perhaps the very end of the journey. If anything meditation illuminates it. She is human. She has had her lessons like everybody else. Judgment such as depicted in the above remark belies a need to examine one’s own shadow. Let yourself be human-and all the mess this entails-and then see where your judgment of others falls. Judgment is itself very human. As is forgiveness.
