It looks like no.12 was on a Penkridge markets duty. I learned to conduct on this bus in December 1988. As I recall regular operation of the half cabs ended in 1990 but no.12 was retained for occasional use. I carried a cash bag, ticket rack and Williamson ticket punch, which made a pleasing ting when you clipped the ticket. Green Bus went over to Wayfarer ticket machines in the 90s but some punch tickets were still in use. I did my last turn in July 1990, on the Stockport PD3, no 8 which was withdrawn later that year and replaced by the ex Kent Atlantean which you see no.8 overtake in Cannock bus station in the footage. I lived in Great Barr and often used the 951 to get to the depot.
Year i passed my driving test🎉 Was a pleasure to drive back then no📞📸 or speed humps Gradually got too how it is today Remember seeing one of those green buses parked up. As i drove by the driver looked bit busy on the back seat 😂

Aww the Green Bus! Sometimes did little cardboard tickets like you were in the 1940s, and before the Inshops was built
Aww mate, you are taking me down nostalgia road here. I mean I was born 1989 but I still remember some of this when I was a kid.

The old green bus double deckers reminded of the buses Reg Varney used to drive!
Do you know Lee?
Many a happy Saturday spent travelling from Cannock to Birmingham on the 951 for £2.20 I think it was wasting my first wage packets.
Also, riding around on the Green bus as a young teen never knowing if you would actually make it to your destination as they never sounded to healthy.
