I feel so enlightened by your research as a whole, moreover, revaluations of convict history continue to confront in the brutality and inhuman acts that denoted transportation to Tasmania. Children being a tragic, maybe less discussed aspect of that dark history.
As for your pup and his reaction to the bronze statues, what a special boy he is, so touching…thanks for another wonderful production Angus.

I am a runner, and in the time that I lived in Hobart I ran 5,500km. All the places that you show I have intimately connected with. I know the old bridge under Newtown Road because I have run up the rivulet and saw it from that angle. Someone dear to me was a child protection officer at St John's and I remember visiting her and feeling the dark energy of the place. Its amazing to see your aerial shots of the places in the landscape that I have moved across, and the history that I was not aware of. You are doing a great job.

Another great video Angus. Can I point out a mistake though, and one that is made by many Tasmanians - fagus is not the only deciduous tree in Australia. Along the east coast of the mainland there are two tree species that are also deciduous - red and white cedars. These were very heavily cut as they are fabulous furniture timbers, and many houses of the 19th century have cedar doors and architraves.
Once again thanks for these wonderful videos

The flannelette curtain has plenty of traction still. I’ve heard at least two Real Estate agents say “never north of Creek Road” when giving general purchasing advice about greater Hobart. Silly really.
