Jim Cummings has the greatest voice for cartoons. Just hearing him talk, I can hear so many voices in there. Darkwing Duck was very under rated IMO. Never got the full attention it rightly deserved. My favorite episode was when Darkwing skips a Muddlefoot birthday to go to an alternate universe through a cake where he teams up with his arch enemies against his evil friends. Excellent episode!
Life, the negaverse, and everything. I'd be the F4 bushroots friend, least goss is still good in both universes, also it makes since how negaduck, and DW are alike..THEY'RE COUSINS.!!.

Given that the new DuckTales is a reboot and they already recast Launchpad, it seems unlikely they'd have Jim back to voice the new iteration of Darkwing. It'd be awesome if they did, but it would highlight the absence of Terry and be an exception to the general rule (not the only exception, but even trying to recast Donald Duck would have been at least highly unpractical if not breach of contract, so that's kind of a special case).

Here, Jim does this iconic voice and makes it his own...and now the reboot has someone else doing Darkwing/Drake Mallards voice. Darkwing's my all time favorite Disney character, and hearing someone else doing Darkwing's voice that isn't Jim is like a slap in the face. Personally, I'm sticking with the much better and always classic Darkwing Duck.
I LOVED Darkwing Duck as a kid and to this day (at 36) he still holds a very, very special place in my heart and always will. Disney, I beg you..PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring the terror that flaps in the night back to our TV screens. I and millions of others who grew up with him would love and appreciate it and a new generation of fans will love him (especially in this superhero crazed world/culture we have now). Oh and before I forget Happy 25th Anniversary DW! You're still one of my favorite heroes!
I want to see Darkwing Duck as a separate show again. I mean, I love all the references in the DuckTales reboot and how much it is still a thing in the show, however generations now only see it as a "Side" show in the series more than an actual thing that was part of our childhood
I know this is old but I agree and always loved that! As a kid it took me way too long to connect that they were the same voice, then it all hit me in middle school while watching some reruns. When I learned just how many of his voices slipped by me, he became my favorite V.O. next to Tress and Rob!
I wish the original series of Darkwing Duck could be finished being brought out on DVD. I have the first 2 volumes and I'd really love to have the whole series on DVD. What better way to celebrate 25 years of the masked mallard than being able to see it in it's entirety.

So Glad Disney haven't rebooted this, there's no way they would be able to do it justice (my evidence, Duck Tales reboot, I don't really hate it but it just doesn't compare to it's 90's counterpart, not even close). Something I noticed about Negaduck is that Cummings applied his Dr. Robotnik voice to him to sound more menacing and I think that worked very well.

So Glad Disney haven't rebooted this, there's no way they would be able to do it justice (my evidence, Duck Tales reboot, I don't really hate it but it just doesn't compare to it's 90's counterpart, not even close). Besides even if they did reboot it who else but Jim Cummings would be able to do Darkwing and for how long? I say just re-air the old show, it would be a lot better than some of the shows they have on Disney nowadays.
I dunno the new Darkwing material in DuckTales seems pretty faithful. Even got half the voice actors back for the robbery scene.

Disney plus has dark wing duck now... I forgot and didn't realize how many one liners i used in everyday life from that show! Haha that show came out when i graduated high school lol

A new darkwing duck cartoon will appear soon. I just hope that it will contain guns and explosives. Negaducks favourite weapon is a chainsaw but he also used guns in the show.
