    This is so helpful! Thank you! My gals have this exact thing but no fly strike so I’ve been worrying so bad that I didn’t know what was really happening. I’ll do this tomorrow!

    G'day guys.
    I'm so glad my girls don't have this (so far). Not a job I want to be doing.
    Must go put extra toilet paper in their coop.
    As far as your question goes, I prefer less just because I can't keep up with everyone. 😁 I watch all videos in full over 2 monitors and a TV to support and it's still hard to keep up.
    None of that "great video" 1 minute after a 12 minute video goes up from me. 😁
    All the best,
    Daz.

      Hey Daz thanks for the feedback! I concur it can be hard. Please know we don’t want our video to cause stress for our subs so never feel pressured to watch them all. We adore you! 🥰🥰

    Hi there! New friend here coming over from DB Acres Homestead. I'd call it poopy butt, too! Is this the same thing as pasty butt, or is that something different? I don't have chickens but I would love to have a few hens just for the eggs. Hope you come over and visit me, too! Take care now!!

    • @YogiHollowFarm
      @YogiHollowFarm  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for coming over friend! It is different than pasty butt. Pasty butt happens in chicks and blocks the vent and is usually related to stress of transitions etc. Poopy butt is when the hen does not squat enough or has loose stools and it cakes on the feathers. I find usually happens more in winter but this girl was a mess! Seems she also didn’t clean herself well either. I will visit you! Thanks again!

    Fly strike is aweful. I have lost two birds so far this summer.

    • @YogiHollowFarm
      @YogiHollowFarm  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh gosh I am so sorry for your losses. Thats terrible. It really is a brutal ailment. Prevention is the best we can do

    • @YellowjacketGTO
      @YellowjacketGTO 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@YogiHollowFarm its really tough. My birds are a tad wild and hate being handled. With fly strike if you dont catch it early the bird is done. I have seen lots if nasty things with critters, a bird with flystrike is just plain gross.

    • @YogiHollowFarm
      @YogiHollowFarm  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @YellowjacketGTO it sure is. It’s a quick progression also. Hoping you don’t deal with it anymore this season

      Just found out that one of our girls has it. Got all the nasty off of her, bathed her, and put medicine on. I'm hoping it gets better.

    • @YogiHollowFarm
      @YogiHollowFarm  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

  • @BlueCollarHomestead
    @BlueCollarHomestead 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great video! I had to clean up a vent a couple times. One of which looked like a chunk of chicken blocking her entire vent. Now she's doing great although I really wonder how a chunk of chicken got there and blocked it.

    • @YogiHollowFarm
      @YogiHollowFarm  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1
