This game could be the best thing that has ever been done in the history of gaming industry .. In visuals it looks stunningly good to sound department which has done an amazing job you could literally hear everything happening around you and the thrilling music .. We move on to the voice acting by far seems to be one of the best voice acting all around done in a video game .. Finally the physics are just astonishingly perfectly done well you could literally see the wind blow his hair and clothes at the begginng of the video .. I have been playing video games for +20 years and I haven't seen such a well developed game .. Game of the year surely awaits this masterpiece .. All in all this is still a pre-alpha version of the game .. Again NaughtyDog have undoubtedly outdone themselves.
Adam Cabbage The ps4 is still in diapers, it will take years for the devs to exploit all of its possibilities. Remember games like last of us which were graphically incredible for an old console like ps3 came at the very end of its lifetime.

After watching this so many times I just realized that when Drake tries to pull the guy off the ledge and the enemy grabs his leg, while Drake kicks him, his nose is bleeding. This shows that Naughty Dog puts in little detail that are important to the game and makes the game feel more alive
Has anyone noticed that the foot detection for stepping on different flooring is amazing? Every rock or offset ledge he steps on changes his footing as he walks!!! Now THAT is attention to detail.
Naughty Dog is like the playstation version of Rareware. This is the company that made master pieces like Crash Bandicoot, Jak & Daxter, & The last of Us. Ubisoft is just a mediocre company that's been doing mediocre games since the 1980's. The only things that's been keeping Ubisoft alive is just the Assassin's Creed games & the Tom Clancy games.
To all the haters: 1) This is pre-alpha game footage, meaning there is still a LOT of work to do. Full fledged development of the game started not too long ago. They have a year to polish things even better. 2) ND stated that this has not been optimized for PS4 yet, meaning these aren't "Final graphics". Proper optimization is required for max output of graphics. 3) Those stating this looks like Uncharted 3, did it ever occur to you that it does... while being nowhere NEAR completion? 4) Naughty Dog stated that their primary objective is full 1080/60FPS and to target the graphical quality the E3 trailer had or even exceed it. This isn't Ubisoft we're talking about. 5) Gunplay is perfection, and new animations have been added. The island feels alive, with trees and grass moving with the wind, and his hair FINALLY moves lol. So yeah. Never ever judge Naughty Dog. They're Sony's flagship studio. Everything they have done turns to gold, and this will be no exception.
Optimizing =/= graphics will look better. They will most likely be toned DOWN. And the gunplay isn't perfection, Uncharted has never been known for good gunplay.
"target the graphical quality the E3 trailer had or even exceed it" lol even a high end pc would fry trying to handle a game that looks as good as the e3 reveal with all those godly details. the final graphics will look really good. but expecting it to look like the reveal is setting yourself up for dissapointment. they have a beast programmer so i expect the graphics to improve alot. you should go back and rewatch the reveal, that thing looks freaking insane for a cg trailer and making a whole game look like that on a ps4 is freaking impossibe.
After just finishing UC1 and UC2 via the Nathan Drake collection _(not having played them since their original releases)_, the differences and advances shown here in UC4 are glaringly clear. The fluidity of the combat and traversal is remarkable, not forgetting the extra detail in contextual action. Freaking awesome.

I believe The Last Of Us, and a remastered trilogy of the Uncharted games ALONE should be enough for anyone to buy a PlayStation. I love the series and am sad to see it end. I'm expecting tears to come down my face. I cried while playing The Last Of Us. Naughty Dog cannot disappoint. I can't wait till four is release next year.
List of tiny details Naughty Dog included that you probably wouldn't see in many other games: -Nate's flashlight casts light in the direction it's facing when it's on his belt. -Nate's arms reach out towards the ledge when he jumps towards them. -Nate's voice echoes in the cave. You can hear it when he says "ohh, that's refreshing." -Water drops echo in the cave, and also they create tiny ripples in the water. -The rope on Drake's belt swings when he moves. -Nate's watch reflects the sunlight. -You can briefly see Drake's wedding ring on his finger when he pulls out the climbing pick. -The climbing pick displaces tiny rocks both when Drake jabs it into the wall and when he pulls it out, along with some dust. -The bad guys converse with each other. (You can hear a rather interesting conversation about how they thought Drake and Sam died in some sort of wreck.) -You can see that one guy spraying himself with bug repellant. -Drake's hair can get wet and looks weighed down when it is. -The explosion from that bad guy's grenade pushes the log off the edge and you can see it fall. -That one guy's nose starts bleeding when Drake kicks his face after he tries to pull him off the ledge. -You can see a mud trail when Drake kicks that guy down the mud slide. -Drake gets covered in mud when he slides down the mud slide. (This one is probably pretty obvious) -Enemies react when they don't hear their buddy respond to something they've said.
Also noticed something amazing when he pulls the enemy off the ledge and the enemy holds onto his leg....As Drake is kicking the dudes' face to fend him off, his nose starts to bleed from the impacts. Impressive detail.

People saying this is not ''Next/current gen'' are crazy or they are huge mega Xboys/PC fanboys. The amount of foliage,foliage physics,textures,frame rate,animations,polygons,lighting,backrounds,resoloution etc. COULD NEVER be done on a PS3. Uncharted 2,3 look amazing but you also need to keep in mind that that this game has 9-10 months more devolopement time. I'm 100% sure that they are more colorful and other locations in the game just like in Uncharted 2,3. The game is not finished and you have not seen anything yet.
You know what else wasn't finished when it got a gameplay trailer? Watch Dogs. I'll believe it when the game comes out. I can guarentee this game will not look like that at release. They never do.

glados potato Very true, but they don't push the limits as much as Naughty Dog. I'm a MGS fan all the way, but as you know. MGS has also been known as a Playstation type of game. I know it's multiplatform now, but..I'm sure you remember MGS4 being only on one console. And lets not even forget the 90's which was all MGS on Playstation, and PS2.
To all the people who are complaining about the graphics the game is still in pre-alpha stage. Here is some of what Naughty Dog wrote on the Playstation blog: Although we are still in the pre-alpha stage of development, everything you see in the video is in-game and in real-time running at 1080p and a stable 30hz. It’s looking pretty spectacular already and we still have quite some time to optimise and refine our technology to make this the best looking and playing Uncharted game to date. So the graphics will be even better in the final product. Which is saying something as the graphics are already amazing.
don't expect much improvement on graphics i remember seeing lots of pre alpha footage of games and they had verry similar graphics at release and these graphics are not impressive the level art design compensates for the flat textures.
I'm playing through the uncharted collection right now to prepare for the release of U4. There really is something magical about these games, almost like Legend of Zelda on the Nintendo consoles! The characters and charm, witty humor, beautiful environments and flawless gameplay make this one of the greatest video game series of all time! And Uncharted 4 looks to improve on all of those things. It may very well end up being the best game of my life time. This and Legend of Zelda for the Wii U will make 2016 one of the greaest gaming years in history!!

I agree, I don't know what people in the comments are complaining about. I was especially impressed with the plant life. Looks like a CG animated movie. I guess people want photo realistic by this point but I doubt that will happen this gen. Just enjoy the game for what it is, Naughty Dog has a vision of how they want this game to turn out and I'm quite sure they will succeed.
ANONYMOUS I bought PS2 for Jak & Daxter Christmas 2001, bought PS3 for Uncharted 2, played the original a month before the sequel release, was gonna buy a PS4 this year. Then heard Uncharted 4 was delayed until Spring 2016. Gonna wait for PS4 Slim and get this game.
Everything looks so different in the final game the graphics are much better so is the gameplay and the UI is so different also there is much more grass.
This is the reason me and many other people bought a ps4. This is quality, this is a true game. Not the garbage that has recently been released. Best game to come out next year for sure and probably will be one of my favorites. Can't wait for it.

Im a p.c gamer with a $1500 rig and ill happily admit to being blown away by fhese graphics. Sure we have Crysis 3, Star Ctitizen and Witcher 3 which do look better imo, but that doesnt make either this, or The Order 1886 any less impressive looking visually. I apologise on behalf of my fellow p.c bretheren who are too stubborn to admit to fine art.

why are people trying to compare this with tomb raider? Tomb raider is a fun game no more no less. Uncharted is a cinematic Piece of Art ! Tomb raider doesnt even comes close with a good storyline or gameplay compare to the cinematic Uncharted series. And now you are all arguing over graphics really?? I've only played the Uncharted 1, but I really enjoyed the newest Tomb Raider. I like both series and wouldn't say either is better than the other. They keep making both series and I'll keep buying them. Edit: I'm lying. Anything Naughty Dog makes is superior to the rest.
The last tomb raider, has nothing to do with the previus ones, actually uncharted is a copy of tomb raider and indiana jones, go back and play tomb raider 4, it has way more secrets than uncharted...

Md Ray I thought the gunplay was better in 3 also it just had a more cinematic flare and polish but U2 did have the better maps considering the fact that U3 reused a lot ofthem as dlc.
AvengingOttsel Yes there were some extra animations, ability to run faster etc were in Uncharted 3 and overall better multiplayer. Singleplayer is where it lacked especially in the story department. I didn't enjoy singleplayer as much as I enjoyed U2's singleplayer.
you guys are idiots if you think these graphics are anything less than amazing. The waterfall looked amazing, the lighting is fantastic as the walls of the cave reflected light very realistically, and Drake's model looks and animates fantastically, the water rippled so realistically, vines and other greenery swayed making it the most realistic foliage i have ever seen in a game , everything looked crisp (even for a youtube video!), i mean if you are not pleased with these graphics then i don't know what will please you!

Im sorry but I know you dont have a PC that can run it on ultra and second off bad comparison Far Cry isint really stretching for photo realism it looks good in its on way. Also as a PC gamer yes this looks very good for a console that is literally on par with my 4 year old PC but PC still wins graphically with games like Star Citizen the sheer amount of detail that games has and its only in alpha is insane. But maybe one day ill buy a PS4 to play this.

As for everything else, it's pre-alpha demo, so it's to early to say anything about it. But in the end, pure technology is nothing. And let's not forget the A.I. They moved realistically, reacted quickly (and effectively), and even communicated as if (heaven forbid) they were all on the same team. The A.I in Tomb Raider was good, but this is on even another level.

Naughty Dog is a good, but not great dev. They made one really good game so far which is TLOU. The Uncharted series is incredibly overrated. Generic gameplay, linear, bad gunplay, dumb puzzles, bad platforming, good presentation. That's all. People only hype it because of "teh graphics"

If you talk about the graphics in this video, you failed as a true gamer. There are major aspects that drive a game and while graphics have their role, there are other more important pieces. The Uncharted series and Last of Us excelled in all these categories and they all where masterpieces. ...but hey, I guess most of those hate comments are made by drones who have not even played the majority of Naugthy Dog games. I played through all three Uncharted games on the PS3 and it was an amazing time, Nowadays people talk more about graphics than the actual game.
Last of Us worked as an original title with great story, but Uncharted has not been innovating in that aspect for a while. The problem with this is that it simply seems like what we have seen before with a bit of spit and polish. That doesn't cut it!! Also a definite downgrade from E3 when they assured us it was genuine gameplay, that is just bad!! Game looks fine but nothing new!!
SkullScience77 You know what; in the trailer at E3, the camera was zoomed VERY close to his face. But in the gameplay you don't notice the same amount of details because the camera is not zoomed VERY close to his face.
My favorite Naughty Dog franchise purely for the gameplay, was the Jak and Daxter series. It was one of those series' where you could just go about and have a fun time, even when everything was unlocked. Free-roaming seamlessly in a world with no loading times was amazing and is something many games today can't manage to do.

***** Bruce Straley was the one controlling the game. He plays it in a immersive/cinematic way. Slowly panning the camera around, walking in stead of jogging all the time etc etc. I have some videos of The Last of Us that mimic this type of gameplay.
I thought they wouldn't able to make the combat more impressive than it already was in Drake's Deception. I'm glad it appears they've proven me wrong. And of course the cinematic aspect of the game looks gorgeous as well. You're too perfect Naughty Dog, too perfect.

It's simply a unique, incomparable and consummate masterpiece! Everything it's absolutely fascinating. The whole gameplay mechanics, the visuals, the plot, the cinematic story, the formidable soundtrack, the advanced technology of graphics, all of them create a superior videogame experience, which is full of suspense! This game is not only about shooting or run & gun (such as most of the videogames in this genre) . It's an interactive combination of exploration. Naughty Dog continues to rise the level!

so the reason is that fallout is an open world game the devs don't have as much memory to work with in that game uncharted is all about small set pieces so they can punch up the graphics less to render
If these kind of visuals are possible with a PS4, then what will my new preordered PC with the GTX 980M inside be capable of?! It has twice the GPU power of the PS4. Devs better start actually making use of that power instead of giving us poorly optimised ports (Ubisoft, get your act together please). Sorry to destroy your dream, but your bombastic PC wont do any wonders since most games you will play are just ports with the same assets of the console versions. There are one or two exclusives per year that look great thou, like Star Citizen

Best thing I see here is the seemingly great ai. I hope this is not fake. srsly I like how human the ai acts. the chatter, the friend ai system where they actually go after their friends and the varied dialouge. more games need to adapt to this. as for graphics I couldn't care less. looks good enough. and yes this is the best it will look. pre alpha typically doesn't change visually from final release.

This game could be the best thing that has ever been done in the history of gaming industry .. In visuals it looks stunningly good to sound department which has done an amazing job you could literally hear everything happening around you and the thrilling music .. We move on to the voice acting by far seems to be one of the best voice acting all around done in a video game .. Finally the physics are just astonishingly perfectly done well you could literally see the wind blow his hair and clothes at the begginng of the video .. I have been playing video games for +20 years and I haven't seen such a well developed game .. Game of the year surely awaits this masterpiece .. All in all this is still a pre-alpha version of the game .. Again NaughtyDog have undoubtedly outdone themselves.
And how much graphical increase does thou foresee in the next year? Because I foresee next to nothing.
Adam Cabbage The ps4 is still in diapers, it will take years for the devs to exploit all of its possibilities. Remember games like last of us which were graphically incredible for an old console like ps3 came at the very end of its lifetime.
Manuel Cufre Actually that is not completely true, the reason the ps3 got better and better is because of the annoying cell processors. The ps4 is basically a pc, which probably means games won´t improve as much when it comes to graphics the way ps3 games did.

After watching this so many times I just realized that when Drake tries to pull the guy off the ledge and the enemy grabs his leg, while Drake kicks him, his nose is bleeding. This shows that Naughty Dog puts in little detail that are important to the game and makes the game feel more alive

Ubisoft is just a mediocre company that's been doing mediocre games since the 1980's. The only things that's been keeping Ubisoft alive is just the Assassin's Creed games & the Tom Clancy games.
To all the haters:
1) This is pre-alpha game footage, meaning there is still a LOT of work to do. Full fledged development of the game started not too long ago. They have a year to polish things even better.
2) ND stated that this has not been optimized for PS4 yet, meaning these aren't "Final graphics". Proper optimization is required for max output of graphics.
3) Those stating this looks like Uncharted 3, did it ever occur to you that it does... while being nowhere NEAR completion?
4) Naughty Dog stated that their primary objective is full 1080/60FPS and to target the graphical quality the E3 trailer had or even exceed it. This isn't Ubisoft we're talking about.
5) Gunplay is perfection, and new animations have been added. The island feels alive, with trees and grass moving with the wind, and his hair FINALLY moves lol.
So yeah. Never ever judge Naughty Dog. They're Sony's flagship studio. Everything they have done turns to gold, and this will be no exception.

you should go back and rewatch the reveal, that thing looks freaking insane for a cg trailer and making a whole game look like that on a ps4 is freaking impossibe.

After just finishing UC1 and UC2 via the Nathan Drake collection _(not having played them since their original releases)_, the differences and advances shown here in UC4 are glaringly clear. The fluidity of the combat and traversal is remarkable, not forgetting the extra detail in contextual action. Freaking awesome.

List of tiny details Naughty Dog included that you probably wouldn't see in many other games:
-Nate's flashlight casts light in the direction it's facing when it's on his belt.
-Nate's arms reach out towards the ledge when he jumps towards them.
-Nate's voice echoes in the cave. You can hear it when he says "ohh, that's refreshing."
-Water drops echo in the cave, and also they create tiny ripples in the water.
-The rope on Drake's belt swings when he moves.
-Nate's watch reflects the sunlight.
-You can briefly see Drake's wedding ring on his finger when he pulls out the climbing pick.
-The climbing pick displaces tiny rocks both when Drake jabs it into the wall and when he pulls it out, along with some dust.
-The bad guys converse with each other. (You can hear a rather interesting conversation about how they thought Drake and Sam died in some sort of wreck.)
-You can see that one guy spraying himself with bug repellant.
-Drake's hair can get wet and looks weighed down when it is.
-The explosion from that bad guy's grenade pushes the log off the edge and you can see it fall.
-That one guy's nose starts bleeding when Drake kicks his face after he tries to pull him off the ledge.
-You can see a mud trail when Drake kicks that guy down the mud slide.
-Drake gets covered in mud when he slides down the mud slide. (This one is probably pretty obvious)
-Enemies react when they don't hear their buddy respond to something they've said.

Also noticed something amazing when he pulls the enemy off the ledge and the enemy holds onto his leg....As Drake is kicking the dudes' face to fend him off, his nose starts to bleed from the impacts. Impressive detail.

People saying this is not ''Next/current gen'' are crazy or they are huge mega Xboys/PC fanboys.
The amount of foliage,foliage physics,textures,frame rate,animations,polygons,lighting,backrounds,resoloution etc. COULD NEVER be done on a PS3.
Uncharted 2,3 look amazing but you also need to keep in mind that that this game has 9-10 months more devolopement time.
I'm 100% sure that they are more colorful and other locations in the game just like in Uncharted 2,3.

To all the people who are complaining about the graphics the game is still in pre-alpha stage. Here is some of what Naughty Dog wrote on the Playstation blog:
Although we are still in the pre-alpha stage of development, everything you see in the video is in-game and in real-time running at 1080p and a stable 30hz. It’s looking pretty spectacular already and we still have quite some time to optimise and refine our technology to make this the best looking and playing Uncharted game to date.
So the graphics will be even better in the final product. Which is saying something as the graphics are already amazing.

don't expect much improvement on graphics i remember seeing lots of pre alpha footage of games and they had verry similar graphics at release and these graphics are not impressive the level art design compensates for the flat textures.

I'm playing through the uncharted collection right now to prepare for the release of U4. There really is something magical about these games, almost like Legend of Zelda on the Nintendo consoles! The characters and charm, witty humor, beautiful environments and flawless gameplay make this one of the greatest video game series of all time! And Uncharted 4 looks to improve on all of those things. It may very well end up being the best game of my life time. This and Legend of Zelda for the Wii U will make 2016 one of the greaest gaming years in history!!

I agree, I don't know what people in the comments are complaining about. I was especially impressed with the plant life. Looks like a CG animated movie. I guess people want photo realistic by this point but I doubt that will happen this gen. Just enjoy the game for what it is, Naughty Dog has a vision of how they want this game to turn out and I'm quite sure they will succeed.
The only ones not impressed are butthurt Xbox drones because none of their games will look as good as Uncharted.
It doesn't matter how good your PC is, it will never run Uncharted or any other fantastic game that Naughty Dog develops.

Im a p.c gamer with a $1500 rig and ill happily admit to being blown away by fhese graphics. Sure we have Crysis 3, Star Ctitizen and Witcher 3 which do look better imo, but that doesnt make either this, or The Order 1886 any less impressive looking visually. I apologise on behalf of my fellow p.c bretheren who are too stubborn to admit to fine art.

Md Ray I thought the gunplay was better in 3 also it just had a more cinematic flare and polish but U2 did have the better maps considering the fact that U3 reused a lot ofthem as dlc.
AvengingOttsel Yes there were some extra animations, ability to run faster etc were in Uncharted 3 and overall better multiplayer. Singleplayer is where it lacked especially in the story department. I didn't enjoy singleplayer as much as I enjoyed U2's singleplayer.
you guys are idiots if you think these graphics are anything less than amazing. The waterfall looked amazing, the lighting is fantastic as the walls of the cave reflected light very realistically, and Drake's model looks and animates fantastically, the water rippled so realistically, vines and other greenery swayed making it the most realistic foliage i have ever seen in a game , everything looked crisp (even for a youtube video!), i mean if you are not pleased with these graphics then i don't know what will please you!

Im sorry but I know you dont have a PC that can run it on ultra and second off bad comparison Far Cry isint really stretching for photo realism it looks good in its on way. Also as a PC gamer yes this looks very good for a console that is literally on par with my 4 year old PC but PC still wins graphically with games like Star Citizen the sheer amount of detail that games has and its only in alpha is insane. But maybe one day ill buy a PS4 to play this.

***** Yep. Even those who compare it to Tomb Raider. It's Ryse level of visuals (if not better), which won an award for the best graphics and is pure next-gen. As for everything else, it's pre-alpha demo, so it's to early to say anything about it. But in the end, pure technology is nothing. Much more important - attention to detail, storytelling, gameplay, designs. Technology is here already, details too. The rest will be shown later.

The reason why the graphic is impressive is that the demo is a pre-apha stage of the gameplay- nowhere near at its finished stage. Let that sink in right now.

uncharted has always had great graphics
And let's not forget the A.I. They moved realistically, reacted quickly (and effectively), and even communicated as if (heaven forbid) they were all on the same team. The A.I in Tomb Raider was good, but this is on even another level.

Naughty Dog is a good, but not great dev. They made one really good game so far which is TLOU. The Uncharted series is incredibly overrated.
Generic gameplay, linear, bad gunplay, dumb puzzles, bad platforming, good presentation. That's all.

If you talk about the graphics in this video, you failed as a true gamer.
There are major aspects that drive a game and while graphics have their role, there are other more important pieces.
The Uncharted series and Last of Us excelled in all these categories and they all where masterpieces.
...but hey, I guess most of those hate comments are made by drones who have not even played the majority of Naugthy Dog games.
I played through all three Uncharted games on the PS3 and it was an amazing time, Nowadays people talk more about graphics than the actual game.
Last of Us worked as an original title with great story, but Uncharted has not been innovating in that aspect for a while. The problem with this is that it simply seems like what we have seen before with a bit of spit and polish. That doesn't cut it!! Also a definite downgrade from E3 when they assured us it was genuine gameplay, that is just bad!! Game looks fine but nothing new!!
SkullScience77 You know what; in the trailer at E3, the camera was zoomed VERY close to his face. But in the gameplay you don't notice the same amount of details because the camera is not zoomed VERY close to his face.
My favorite Naughty Dog franchise purely for the gameplay, was the Jak and Daxter series. It was one of those series' where you could just go about and have a fun time, even when everything was unlocked. Free-roaming seamlessly in a world with no loading times was amazing and is something many games today can't manage to do.

***** Bruce Straley was the one controlling the game. He plays it in a immersive/cinematic way. Slowly panning the camera around, walking in stead of jogging all the time etc etc. I have some videos of The Last of Us that mimic this type of gameplay.

It's simply a unique, incomparable and consummate masterpiece! Everything it's absolutely fascinating. The whole gameplay mechanics, the visuals, the plot, the cinematic story, the formidable soundtrack, the advanced technology of graphics, all of them create a superior videogame experience, which is full of suspense! This game is not only about shooting or run & gun (such as most of the videogames in this genre) . It's an interactive combination of exploration. Naughty Dog continues to rise the level!

Naughty Dog really knows how to not only have good graphics and gameplay, but also a riveting story. Can't wait for this game.. and, if they come up with a good story, for the next TLOU. I love that a possible sequel depends on whether they come up with a good story or not. They don't just want to make money, they want to create art.

so the reason is that fallout is an open world game the devs don't have as much memory to work with in that game uncharted is all about small set pieces so they can punch up the graphics less to render

Devs better start actually making use of that power instead of giving us poorly optimised ports (Ubisoft, get your act together please).

I never got to play Uncharted on PS3 but I ended up getting the Uncharted PS4 bundle and the games really are great. Im really pumped for this one.

Best thing I see here is the seemingly great ai. I hope this is not fake. srsly I like how human the ai acts. the chatter, the friend ai system where they actually go after their friends and the varied dialouge. more games need to adapt to this.
as for graphics I couldn't care less. looks good enough. and yes this is the best it will look. pre alpha typically doesn't change visually from final release.
This is beta more then pre-alpha, if it was pre-alpha the game would be released roughly ~2-3 years from now.

No, they weren't downgraded. When they said that the e3 trailer was "in-engine", they did not mean "actual gameplay." In engine does not automatically mean "actual gameplay."
or maybe, just maybe, which is the case for EVERY single game in development, that what we saw at E3 doesn't represent the final product.
