This one was rather easy for me compared to others... most of his attacks are side dodgeable... even the slam, weirdly... the first boss in stage one was slightly harder and demons on general tend to get me

What you're on a tight budget ?
I have a theory that during development, they didn't know what the boss of the area would be and simply had a placeholder name. In this case, because of the roulette aspect and the showgirl thing, there was a sort of Las Vegas theme, and what is Las Vegas without an Elvis impersonator. Therefore the placeholder name for the boss was Elvis.
Come finalizing time, they had a large, Mexican fat man with monk beads who's actually a demon and then with no time to come up with a new name, it stuck.
The composer for this theme took the full vegas aspect (Ch-ch-chance) and the elvis impersonator aspects and we have this magical number.
Only Mikami would know for sure, but this is a great friggin' theory :D

É um excelente jogo, maravilhoso jogo de fato. Mas não sei se faria sucesso pra grande mídia, porque tem uma temática que agrada uma pequena parte das pessoas.
Edit.: infelizmente é muito difícil de haver um remake. Senão agradar a maioria das pessoas não vai rolar, assim como foi esse jogo na época do lançamento, pois vendeu muito pouco. O game só foi valorizado depois. Se naquela época vendeu pouco, imagina agora que o público é mais exigente e "fresco"? O agravante é que o estúdio que produziu o jogo faliu. Então se haver um remake será algo diferente. Eu como fã de God Hand me entristeço com essa realidade.

This game reminds me of deadly premonition: its absolute JANK at first sight but once you get into it, t has an undeniable charm and alltogether becomes an uforgettable experience. Plus I heard some people who are deep into the science of combo systems confirmed this games combat system is some next level shit. Wich is a pretty cool fact imo.
Yea this is a video game in the purest sense and the number 1 reason why you dont listen to game reviewers. Im certain the only game with deeper combat is devil may cry series.

I’m honestly not convinced any game in the DMC series is as complex as this game, in terms of what it expects of you.
this game frequently demands you to make nearly frame-perfect decisions (sometimes forcing you to *react* within a matter of 3-4 frames) from enemies both in front AND behind you.
DMC may very well have more options, but God Hand is definitely one of the most ridiculously precise games I’ve ever played. one incorrect button press inbetween 10-12 others can and will result in you getting knocked for half your health or more - sometimes from enemies you can’t even see onscreen. I feel as though that fact adds on to the complexity of the game, since it comes down to developer expectations of the player.
YaBoyBillson Mikami knocked it out of the park (per usual) with God Hand, it sucks that so few people appreciate it.

Agreed. I think there's an absurd level of nuance and freestyling capability within the game's combo system that goes completely unrecognized by most people. It's why I love moike kobe's videos, he pulls out combos on the fly on Level DIE in fucking hARD MODE that give me a headache and carpal tunnel just thinking about.
easy to learn, hard to master games reign supreme above all video games in my opinion. a game that can be enjoyed by anyone, but only mastered by the few who dedicate themselves to it, offer an experience everyone can enjoy on any level they want. games like Rocket League, God Hand (iffy on the 'easy to learn' aspect), Hyper Light Drifter, Sekiro, the Soulsborne games, all have this quality and I think it sets them far apart from others.
and for the record, I think God Hand is a massively flawed game. There's some shit in this game that *pisses* me off. I wanted to fight Tiger Joe one-one-one, no God Hand or roullette, on Level DIE. if I died, I'd have to restart the entire level, which was pretty lengthy up to that point. I got hit a *single* time, by a lightning fast jab I failed to react to, and watched as about *80 fucking percent* of my health just disappeared. I said fuck it, and used the God Hand to whoop his ass into the ground. there's a lot of moments like that where I'm critical of the game, but I *still* love it.

It is true. This game pulled off what most combo based fighting games don't even come close to now. Combat fluidity and combo options where insane for the time.
The game is pure, concentrated hardcore fun! Boss fights like this one are one of the reasons!
Elvis is the best boss characters and with best theme ever, the real rivalry relationship of Gene I think

Honestly my favorite boss in the game. His moveset is fair but challenging and his attacks feel so fun and satisfying to dodge, especially his ground pound.
Azel maybe the best fight mechanically and in terms of being the ultimate test of your skills, but Elvis' first and second fights are just a blast no matter how many times I refight them.
I'm I the only one who randomly quotes Elvis daily? Like I'm just chilling and my brain just goes I DON'T THINK YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU'RE GETTING YOURSELF INTO PENDEJOOOO
