Strange experience, Wouters should have been sent off, the Des Walker penalty at the end. Not good memories leaving Wembley that night. That was the beginning of the end for 1994 World Cup qualification.

@Ashton Almond I thought they were totally overated...Shearer and Sheringham played well and so did the backline..but i would go no further than that...the 1990 squad with Terry Venables as manager would have thrashed them..(Venables would have know how to use Waddle and Barnes together and with Bryan Robson fit could have won the world cup..that would have given them an extra 15%...)...Venables was very smart tactically in Euro 96...a key reason why they got to the semi..
