I was at the match, right behind the goal for Barnes' free kick. Some people were booing even before he took the free kick and didn't know what to do after it went in! Van Hanegem, Keizer, Rep, Van Basten, Gullit, Rijkaard, Koeman, Bergkamp, Seedorf, Van der Sar, Kluivert, Davids, Van Nistelrooij, Stam, Sneijder, Robben, Van Persie, Van der Vaart, Van Dijk, De Jong....all of them world class

Final and just trying to kick Spain off the park. De Jong should have been sent off mid-first half, but typical Dutch only getting a yellow card when a red card is warranted. Still got beat though and still ended up with ten men! You’ve listed quite a few players there as world class who played in that final…and their performances proved themselves not to be. Banks, Cohen, Wilson, Stiles, J Charlton, Moore, Ball, Hunt, B Charlton, Hurst, Peters……confirmed world class footballers.

Holland have never won the World Cup. Rubbish rubbish Holland! England won in 1966. England are the best! Hat-trick in a World Cup final. Something Kluivert, Van Basten didn’t do…but an Englishman did. Bobby Moore is a class above Van Dijk and Koeman. If Cruyff had vision they’d have called him Bobby Charlton. I’m glad you didn’t list any left backs as England had Ray Wilson, who was a genuinely world class one; you’ve had Bouma, Bogarde and Numan. Rafael Van der Vaart? More like Rafael canned a fart.

Euro 96. England stuffed Holland 4-1. Embarrassed you. We let you score one though just to make sure the Scots got knocked out. Jordi Cruyff, Kluivert, Davids, Vorm, Van Bronckhurst, Babel, Depay, Afellay, Van De Beek, Klaasen, Witschge, Janssen all failed in the Premier League but looked good in the easy Dutch league.
