  • Lots of talking and no editing, but really wanted to discuss why I chose the PRS HDRX 20. Comment with any questions or suggestions. Listen through headphones or in your car.

    Thank you for talking about the feel of the amp. The feel of an amp is just as important as the sound to me.

    I enjoyed the pedals with the amp! Sounded solid! Fantastic pricing and tone and competes with amps in the same realm.

    Great review, I just got the amp after trying it out in a shop, is a great amp. Thanks for the really great tones and sharing your thinking about it!

    Thanks for making this video. There's a lot of us that are looking for a good pedal platform that don't have interest in playing Hendrix. I also dig your feedback on the other 20 watt amps out there and how this compares.

    been trying to find a review to determine if this is usable at home, and i’m guessing from this its not really suitable as a bedroom amp. Thanks. BTW i loved the format and the honest review.

    Thanks for the review, I really like the sound you are getting at 27:00 (JCM 800) How do you think this amp compares to a Marshall Origin 50. I am thinking the same as you, good base sound with the amp and fine-tuned with pedals.

    • @brittsoden
      @brittsoden  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question! I've only played the Origin 50, but I've heard the 20 live with a band and it struggled quite a bit, so if you play with a band I definitely recommend the 50. The 50 sounded good, it didn't make me want to buy it on the spot but I just saw one on Marketplace for $375 and that was tempting.

    23 subs... Why! You should do a thing with this. I've had the exact same thoughts. Why limit the gear depending on what name is written on it. Seen lots of reviews that lack presentation of what the gear actually can do. Come on... Go for it... 🌹💯❤️🔥 I Subbed and liked. 👏👌

    thick sounding amps sound great in the livingroom or bedroom but they dont cut through a mix with a band. that is the reason those other amps you mention sound thin is because they are meant to be played live.

    • @brittsoden
      @brittsoden  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'll have to disagree with you on that. I've had zero problems cutting through a live mix with the HDRX, and there's a difference between "cutting through" and carving out ear drums with an ice pick. You wanna cut through, but you don't want to sacrifice low end.

    • @adamwatson6916
      @adamwatson6916 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What? There are many thick sounding Amps that cut through mix perfectly well .
      Also a thin sounding amp doesn't guarantee you will cut through.
      Treble isn't what makes your anp cut through.
      Your midrange is what cuts through. Your fatness and girth comes from your midrange and your midrange is what cuts through. Guitars are mid range instruments .
      Saying that thick amps don't cut through and thin ones do is just not the reality.

    I enjoyed the concept of hearing alternative tones. Just gave up after about 18 minutes. Not being rude, just hoping to help. Way too much discussion. I hope to revisit and actually hear what you are trying to convey.

    So I appreciate the info. I’m looking at this amp to buy. But wow a lot of rambling. I had to force myself to wait to hear the amp. It was like.. (movie ) when i was in band camp…….

    Im just gonna be straight up because there is no way else to be.. i lost interest before even hearing the amp. You ramble too much. If you want subs, make the video about the product, not how you feel about yourself playing other products that you dont even show.

      I appreciate the feedback. I was trying to explain things from my perspective, just incase there were other people in the same boat, that's also why I put the time stamps in there. Not interested in subs at all, as evidenced by the fact that I've filmed a single video in the last 12 years using just my phone. Not everyone on here is a professional "content creator", but I'll be sure to keep your feedback in mind for my next video, probably in another 12 years.

    Literally couldn't find anyone doing HDRX+fuzz face thing, everyone is playing a PRS into it or (you were right on that one) playing Little Wing with the most generic clean tone. I mean come on nobody is going to try the woodstock tones on a woodstock amp? Disappointing...

    • @bmoneybby
      @bmoneybby ปีที่แล้ว

      Because everyone has commented on every other video to stop playing Hendrix songs and play other things. So people are playing other things.

    Mate did you tried the ST20h from Marshall by any chance? how do you think it compares to the hdrx. Thanks and cheers

    • @brittsoden
      @brittsoden  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I did try the ST20H. The ST20 definitely has more gain. I felt it was a little thin sounding, but i know a few people who love them tho. I tend to prefer less gain, and for the price, I dont think you can beat the HDRX. That being said, I'm reeeeaally interested in the Studio JTM.
