Boring fact nobody cares about : There used to be only 10 months and the last four were named for their placement. - sept (7) ember - oct (8) ober - no (9) vember - dec (10) ember When two extra months were added to the calendar, they were named after roman emperors - July (Julius) - August (Augustus)
fyi, that’s not quite true. when they added 2 months, they were added to the beginning of the year (january + february.) Only later were 2 months renamed for Julius & Augustus.
