The problem with these houses are light and ventilation . It was made ata time when electric fans and air conditioning were not a thing , so the windows are small and everything is so dark and dingy .

Ayyo running a resort in Kerala and especially in a non tourist place like palakkad. I struggled after letting out on Airbnb. No labour is staying for more than 18 months. Always energy and time is wasted on labour sourcing and Management issues. Untrained workforce in resort like business gives headaches. I also have a 75 yr old tharavaad spread over 2.8 acres in Palakkad. I dropped the plan of converting it. If maintenance can be done without much effort then it's ok. Acquisition is ok. But running it efficiently is double the effort than in other places.
I think 3Cr is ok for this 100 year old house because it needs lot of maintenance work.
