My guess is they will not open on April 1. More likely May 1, giving them a chance to get back up and running and to finish the "Touch of Disney" event. I remember how Florida was when it opened last year so I'm also guessing when Disneyland opens there won't be park hopping. Also would guess, they will make everyone buy new tickets for the first while, and then might honor your ticket later. You should be able to use your lease as proof of California residence, or a utility bill.
I use to work at Universal Studios Hollywood, and I can tell you for sure that regardless of what Theme or Amusement park you're going to, you can expect allot of rides to break down on especially on the reopening day. Universal typically closes only for Thanksgiving and Christmas. After rigorous daily usage and maintenance, rides become more faulty the longer they sit unused, even if it's only for a day. I use to work at Universal Hollywood's ET Adventure, Jurassic Park, and Back to the Future attractions. The day after Thanksgiving and Christmas, the ET Adventure always broke down. For the parks in California to open flawlessly with minimal downtime, they'd have to employ a skeleton crew 3 weeks in advance to train and learn how to operate she evacuate the attractions they're assigned to, and the rides have to be inspected for safety, and cycled daily without guests for at least a week or two.

I am so happy Disneyland is opening!! Won’t be going this year though but I would love to. I am doing a big trip to WDW for the first time, but I am planning for Disneyland next year. I’ll be in Downtown Disney next week, that’s as close as I am getting to Disneyland this year but I am so happy it’s finally happening. Crossing my finger you are able to get day one admittance. Be glad that you at least have access to WDW even if you can't get into Disneyland. 7.5k attendance per day. As for ID's you can have more than one state ID. You can check with the DMV in CA. Since you have a new lease in SoCal, you should be able to get a state ID for CA.
You can still get a California ID from the DMV since you are still a resident in Orange, show your utility bills because you still have a So Cal residence. Try it whenever you return to So Cal and have a DMV appointment for your California ID.
Being in California my kids and I are so happy about Disneyland! I set aside money last year way before COVID for my son and his friends to go to Disneyland as a graduation gift! So now they can do that soon! Hopefully before June. When AP's come back my daughter and I will get them! This really makes things happy out here in California where it's been pretty depressing for quite some time! Celebration looks like such a beautiful place to live! So happy you were able to find a place there.

In terms of capacity, Disneyland allowed over 100,000 people into the park every day during the final days of the Electrical Parade in the fall of 1997. Folks were packed like sardines (Sardineland?) and could barely move throughout the park, but theoretically, that number did fit. I worked there and experienced it.
We in California finally have some joy seeping back in. I have 5-day tickets that are burning to be used 😊😊🥰😊😊. They did say California resident. Either bring recent mail with your Cali address or get a Cali ID only.

I can't imagine living in a place where gators are everywhere. It's very dangerous. Celebration is beautiful, but not worth risking my life. I'll never forget the family who lost their child on Disney World property. The details are too horrific to talk about. We all know the story. It still breaks my heart.

@@db1566 @D B Well going to Disneyland is not a civil right. It is a privelage to enter private property such as Disney. You have no rights to do what you please unless it is public property. Disney has a rule about many other things like not letting you in if you don't wear shoes, a shirt, vulgar clothing, etc. You cannot sue for refusing to abide by those rules they have made and you can be denied entry for failing to follow them. They have legal rights to as a private property. You would not win a lawsuit simply because it is your choice to refuse to follow a rule they have set in place. Especially when that rule is made to ensure other guest's safety and comfort. Just because you may think the vaccine is fake and choose to disregard a virus doesn't mean you can jeopardize other people's safety inside the park. Rights only go so far. When you start potentially endangering others or disregarding other people and a private place has made rules to help protect those people from that danger, you definitely can be told you can't enter. Same thing goes for wearing masks. You have a right to not wear one. But don't expect to be able to get into a Disney park. Freedom of rights doesn't mean freedom to do whatever you please wherever you want and whenever you want. They may not be able to whatever they want. But neither can you. It works both ways.

Disneyland should have never closed but instead do what Florida did and go to limited capacity, social distancing and mandatory masking. Gov Newsome sucks.
Estimated capacity is about 80,000 to 90,000. 15% would be about 12,000 for 80,000 and 13,500 for 90,000. So the capacity should be around 10,000 to 15,000 for Disneyland. California Adventure is estimated to be around 40,000 which works out to around 6,000 at 15%.

In case you were curious: Current DCA capacity is about 50k Current DL capacity is about 80k So modified in red tier is: DL: 12k DCA: 7.5k And we-in Orange County CA- are actually looking on track for red tier next week, perhaps orange tier soon to follow (as many of our numbers are actually already orange) so It’ll actually be 25% capacity at that point.
Adam...you can't have two driver's licenses but you can have an unlimited number of identifcation cards. So since you already have a CA record you can technically apply for a CA identification card so long as you still have proof of a CA address. However you'd have to be there about two weeks early in order for the new ID card to be mailed to you (CA does not have temporary ID cards).
You can take a copy of your housing contract. We have residences in the PNW and Florida, but our licenses are PNW issued. When we went to USO and DW in 2018, we took a copy of property doc + bank statements sent to the house in Florida and that was sufficient to get us FL resident rates. It would highly work the same in California.
They did, at least several years ago. Military family here. We have to deal with "proof of residence" things often since we all have I.D.'s from other states. Also, Disney is usually pretty good about working with the guests.

Adam - if you have a ticket already purchased, you might get in, but I would imagine reservations required will be online ticket purchases and require a credit card with a California billing address. Trying to make an online reservation, dining, etc., always requires a credit card deposit, so if your credit cards now have a FL billing address, you might not be eligible.
Disney is cool and all. But you can only show so much. Missing the Adam the woo that brought me here with the road side attraction, and random road trip, or film/famous spot location vids. Here in Pa,,,ppl are barely surviving. Can't even afford food let alone expensive car repairs.
Mechanics couldnt get parts,,,couldnt even get inspection stickers from Penndot (dept of transportation) cuz IT WAS CLOSED down.
All registrations and etc were exempted for many months even....
I used the mechanic as an example.
Many many businesses,,restaurants,,retailers etc,, CLOSED permanently now....

I can't imagine living in a place where gators are everywhere. It's very dangerous. Celebration is beautiful, but not worth risking my life. I'll never forget the family who lost their child on Disney World property. The details are too horrific to talk about. We all know the story. It still breaks my heart.

@@db1566 @D B Well going to Disneyland is not a civil right. It is a privelage to enter private property such as Disney. You have no rights to do what you please unless it is public property. Disney has a rule about many other things like not letting you in if you don't wear shoes, a shirt, vulgar clothing, etc. You cannot sue for refusing to abide by those rules they have made and you can be denied entry for failing to follow them. They have legal rights to as a private property.
You would not win a lawsuit simply because it is your choice to refuse to follow a rule they have set in place. Especially when that rule is made to ensure other guest's safety and comfort.
Just because you may think the vaccine is fake and choose to disregard a virus doesn't mean you can jeopardize other people's safety inside the park. Rights only go so far. When you start potentially endangering others or disregarding other people and a private place has made rules to help protect those people from that danger, you definitely can be told you can't enter. Same thing goes for wearing masks. You have a right to not wear one. But don't expect to be able to get into a Disney park.
Freedom of rights doesn't mean freedom to do whatever you please wherever you want and whenever you want.
They may not be able to whatever they want. But neither can you. It works both ways.

CA is more densely populated than FL. Hospital ICUs were overrun. Get a clue!
Estimated capacity is about 80,000 to 90,000. 15% would be about 12,000 for 80,000 and 13,500 for 90,000. So the capacity should be around 10,000 to 15,000 for Disneyland. California Adventure is estimated to be around 40,000 which works out to around 6,000 at 15%.

Current DCA capacity is about 50k
Current DL capacity is about 80k
So modified in red tier is:
DL: 12k
DCA: 7.5k
And we-in Orange County CA- are actually looking on track for red tier next week, perhaps orange tier soon to follow (as many of our numbers are actually already orange) so It’ll actually be 25% capacity at that point.
Don’t hold your breath, but I guess anything is possible.

Adam...you can't have two driver's licenses but you can have an unlimited number of identifcation cards. So since you already have a CA record you can technically apply for a CA identification card so long as you still have proof of a CA address. However you'd have to be there about two weeks early in order for the new ID card to be mailed to you (CA does not have temporary ID cards).
You can take a copy of your housing contract. We have residences in the PNW and Florida, but our licenses are PNW issued. When we went to USO and DW in 2018, we took a copy of property doc + bank statements sent to the house in Florida and that was sufficient to get us FL resident rates. It would highly work the same in California.
They did, at least several years ago. Military family here. We have to deal with "proof of residence" things often since we all have I.D.'s from other states. Also, Disney is usually pretty good about working with the guests.

Adam - if you have a ticket already purchased, you might get in, but I would imagine reservations required will be online ticket purchases and require a credit card with a California billing address. Trying to make an online reservation, dining, etc., always requires a credit card deposit, so if your credit cards now have a FL billing address, you might not be eligible.
Disney is cool and all. But you can only show so much. Missing the Adam the woo that brought me here with the road side attraction, and random road trip, or film/famous spot location vids. It’s pretty much easy to do all that even with covid lingering. I’ve been going on road trips a bunch and things are open. It’s like a Disney Chanel now

Sure they can....Disney is a vast empire....they have films...own ESPN and ABC.....own Disney World and a streaming service and countless other business's. I think they can hang on for a few more months until we get back to normal.
