Though he was a dictator but his act of taking over the country was in a very different situation. When the country,s prime Minister refused to land his own Chief of army staff to land in his own country after an official trip what choices you have and not him and his fellow senior army Generals helped him to land showing more loyalty for their commander rather than their prime minister so the prime Minister created this situation and Musharraf took over. We can call him dictator but he did,nt topple the government like a revolution in the case of other Generals. During his rule there was lot a good work done and reforms were made, there was not a single charge of corruption in the monetary terms against him, like other leaders of that country. He did mistakes but but he was a very smart general and very much loyal to the country. When the people blame him for supporting USA he had no choice but follow them. because it was an order not a request. This is a fact because one of the assistant secretary of State in Bush administration after retirement wrote his memoirs in in a book said that it was an threat to Pakistan that if Pakistan did,nt listen them and don't let them use Pakistan,s territory they will send back Pakistan back to the stone age. So what choice a small country like Pakistan,s head of the State has against the most strong power in the world. The consequences really hurt Pakistan later but som time you have to swallow your pride to save the country, not willingly but no option. We can all argue about him whether he was abrutal dictator or a real patriot but his intentions. were sincere for the happiness and prosperity of Pakistan . History will be the judge, we can just argue with a dead end.

PEC declared his assets worth more than 600 million PKR that is far from what a general as qualified as him can dream of earning. Not to mention the flats worth 400 million rupees which he bought in London straight after retirement and billions in his offshore accounts.
