- We took a short trip to Meghalaya, the "Scotland of the East," and were captivated by its beauty. Though there were many places to explore, we could only visit a few due to limited time. The weather was just right! We rented a bike for two days to explore and stayed in a cozy cabin tucked away from the city.

Nongriat is 3000 step plus that is nothing n try to go west khasi hills nongkhnum n der lots more but don't go to dawki shnong pdeng d water is not clear right now only during winter you can see very clear river ....

Undoubtedly Meghalaya and Arunachal are the most beautiful state in northeast ........in Meghalaya every locality have amazing beautiful scenes

Explore the many best place here:Cherrapunjee(Sohra), Laitlum Grand Canyon,Shillong View Point,Don Bosco Museum, Wards Lake, Elephant Falls, Nohkalikai Falls,Nohsngithiang Falls, Dainthlen Falls and other tourist destination
Sohra has about 40 things to see & do & not all of them are touristy, maybe 8-10 max. So next time do come & spend more time.
Infact there are many off the beaten trails & places that you will definitely enjoy all throughout the state.
This sounds super exciting! The next time we visit, we will definitely stay longer and explore State!

please visit Nongriat (double decker bridge), Mawlynnong the cleanest village in Asia (living root bridge), Khadum falls, Dawki river (the cleanest river in Asia) and many more . these are very famous and very beautiful as well. and if you love caves also you can visit Krem puri cave (the longest sandstone cave in the world with 25 KM long), Krem liat prah (the longest cave in India around 31km long) , mawsmai cave, mawmluh cave .and many more which you will find any wonderful things inside them.

Tim, next time try Putharo and Dohjem with red tea for breakfast, and Jadoh + chicken/pork/beef for lunch. Try them from local tea shops and not from restaurants. Restaurants tend to complicate the way Jadoh is cooked which affects the taste of Jadoh so i recommend you to try them from local tea shops :)

That is the waterfall Wei Sawdong where the famous known artist Now United came to perform and made a classy song and Sohra is the original name of the place but Britishers ruin our name and give cherrapunji and soon people from different countries state they start calling cherrapunji
