Your other two singles I said were generic I said as a DgD fan since Whatever We Say is Royal Ocean. This one got more of that DgD vibe and doesn't sound generic. I see good things coming on the next album. Love you guys!
It breaks my heart not hearing Tillian’s voice but Andrew goes pretty hard. I can kinda hear similarities in their vocals but not the high notes. Tillian is special indeed. I hope whatever is going on can be resolved someday- but then again I don’t know exactly what happened (not in the loop). So thankful DGD exists. They’ve healed parts of me and given me so much strength through the years. You guys are my most favorite band of all time. Thanks again for always being consistent 💕
They had creative differences. The band wanted to go heavier and have Jon take the frontman position more than ever on this next album. This part is speculation, but I bet Tilian disagreed on wanting that transition.
Instantly love Will from the start. Sounds like my fav DGD album: Acceptance Speech. It has a drum intro and groovy-technical guitar just like tht album's title track. I just f*cking love how much personality and playfulness 0:06 it is at tht start. Haven't had that since Downtown Battle Mountain II/Acceptance Speech. Jackpot Juicer had it in some places
The guitar is definitely out of control!! More akin to Happiness and Acceptance Speech where it's all over the place in the best way, just Will doing the absolute most.

I was very happy to hear this being reminiscent of Acceptance Speech and Instant Gratification. Throw in some Mothership in the mix too.

Straight From The Heart, although Sergio isn't playing on guitar, I can say with 100% certainty that he influenced the songwriting on it because it just has that same dissonance that was always drawing me into Stolas and Sianvar.

Go back to the early 2000s, Saosin, Senses Fail, Thursday, etc... All crush this. DGD is not the same band without Tillian. Especially Saosin, best band of the era but never gets the credit due. You could add AFI in there too but they have been legit since the early 90s.

I haven't been a fan of Andrew's vocals in previous DGD songs, he sticks out in a bad way at least to me, but maybe that's just because their were so many vocalists in one song all doing different things. His style is much better here imo, but I'm still not convinced. Im just not a fan of his style and vocal range personally. He's a talented guy don't get me wrong, and I'll give it a chance. But I dunno. His vocals are a bit drowned out by the instruments in this song so it's hard to get a good reading. I knew tilian getting the boot would mean change, but time will tell if Andrew can live up to it. I do like the fact they are giving Jon more to do and that they plan on going back to an older style. I felt like since artificial selection, their sound has been very hit or miss for me. I've never listened to eidola which people keep bringing up, I'll have to at some point to see how it compares. Good luck to Andrew, I hope you can change my opinion and impress me.

Tilian in an interview (here on yt) said he just did Tides of Man on Acceptance Speech so it doesnt surprise me Andrew is "doing Eidola" here as his first time coming into the role. I haven't even listened yet... I am just heartbroken that Tilian isn't in the band anymore. Tilians Era has helped me through so much in my life and Swallowed By Eternity has helped me deal with suicidal thoughts. Peak DGD was getting to hear Tilian with other singers on the track. It was competitive and energetic. I hope if nothing else...he will get featured with DGD..
