    Hey everyone, I don’t think I explained clearly what the product is or why it exists so let me do that here.
    Interlu, is built mainly for Paralegals, Accountants & R&D Tax Credit agents who spend 30%-50% of their working life on companies house (www.gov.uk/government/organisations/companies-house) trying to find specific information about UK companies, it’s a hard software to navigate and usually they have to make mental jumps with the basic data presented. Interlu makes doing this easy and will make those mental jumps for the user (is the main idea for the MVP).
    I hope this makes sense 🙌

      Hi Jacob, thanks for documenting this. How are you getting the company data from companies house to Interlu?

    Congrats on the launch! I spent a lot of time on Companies House when I was in my first job in Sales so would have definitely checked this out if it was available back then. Now I'm a FE dev so appreciate the UI you've built! Hope you find product-market fit

      Thanks Chris, interesting to hear you'd have been interested in Interlu back when you were working in sales (nice to hear you become a FE dev 🔥). At the moment I'm targeting accountants I wonder if I should start to target more sales people too? Food for thought.

    This is pretty cool. I need to play around with vercel. If you decided to move to AWS it would be like this:
    FE( Route53 > CloudFront (ACM/WAF) > S3/AppRunner ) > BE ( Route53 > API Gateway > Lambda ) > DB ( dyanmodb )

    Been following the interlu journey for a while, cool to see it launch. I'd love to hear some insights about the number of demo calls / closed customers you get from using that Book Demo button once some users start coming in, perhaps in a months time or so? Keep it up Jacob!

    Hi... why is there so much Green color when blue/indigo color is used in the logo. The primary color is not used enough and blue is actually a more subtle and reusable color. Anyway great product though... the tech stack is so simple .. I like it ... validate before overengineering

    • @JacobSargentTech
      @JacobSargentTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment and I think you're right about the colour usage - to be honest I hadn't thought about it too much as I just wanted to get the product launched.
      Once I get a few more paying users and actual active users I will start to think about improving the design!

    Very inspiring watching this as a newbie inspiring developer, best of luck!
    From a Video Editor/Marketing specialist point of view if you happen to not get the desired traction, I would suggest working on the homepage message. It's clean and good looking design wise but it can be more clear on what interlu offers.
    Maybe people who have a use for it will get it right away like accountants that you mentioned, maybe not. Details you might add in the homepage would be the information that it offers and how it makes easier the job of accountants or whoever it is going to use. Just 2-3 key features that make it unique from any other alternative.

    what does this tool actually do though? it looks like a utility to group together saved companies and quickly access the same information on those companies as is available on the Companies House website. is there any other functionality?

    • @aplikethewatch182
      @aplikethewatch182 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      its a wrapper over companies house at the core crux of the application. the value prop that this product has is that it provides a more user-friendly way of interacting with companies house data. making the process less frustrating

    • @JacobSargentTech
      @JacobSargentTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question, for now that's pretty much it (saving the user time) - however the plan is to start making mental jumps for the user with the basic data provided by companies house. For example we calculate the accounting periods and display that in a digestible UI for the user. Once I speak to a few more users I'm sure there will be other mental jumps we can make to make their lives easier!

    Are you planning to pitch to investors or ventures to scale up your product?

    • @JacobSargentTech
      @JacobSargentTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not currently, the main aim is to get some early users and see if it actually provides value to them. If that’s true and it seems capital will improve likely hood of overall success then I’ll go for funding. But to be honest I like the concept of bootstrapping the whole thing 👌

  • @ChrisHaupt
    @ChrisHaupt ปีที่แล้ว +2

    it looks nice enough, but it doesn't look like a professional designer was involved here. I designed my own applications and thought they looked good until I saw one of them redesigned by a professional. night and day. Best of luck Jacob, sounds like you're on to a winner!

    • @JacobSargentTech
      @JacobSargentTech  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your comment Chris, I know what you mean but to be honest I'm pretty happy with it as an MVP I know it could look a lot better! I'm trying to not let perfect be the enemy of the good. 👍

    • @ChrisHaupt
      @ChrisHaupt ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JacobSargentTech I'm in a very similar situation to you, launching an MVP soon. my business partner insisted the MVP needed to look great. Maybe I should have pushed back on that more as it's cost us an enormous amount of resources doing the redesign which I did not foresee 😬
      I'm curious to know why you're funnel people through a presentation stage rather than just letting them try it out?

    • @JacobSargentTech
      @JacobSargentTech  ปีที่แล้ว

  • @victorandreverdipereira7440

    Why doesnt this have an API. Seems very valuable product for finding leads
    Alternative would be scraping google search for companies' emails, telephone numbers. But if you have no API then why would someone use it. Just add rate limiting and another programmer cant steal your data without wasting thousands on proxies, assuming your dataset is actually robust

    • @JacobSargentTech
      @JacobSargentTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      The tool is actually built around a public API provided by the UK gov! I'm going to be adding a web scraping tool soon to add company websites and phone numbers. Thanks for your comment 🙌
