I would recommend Pink Floyds very first album, back when Syd barret was their lead singer. Piper at the gatea of dawn. It has a vibe i think you would enjoy!

Some recommendations for you if you haven't listened already: -Sybille Baier (70s folk at its finest, only ever released one album tho) -Vashti Bunyan (English folk music, all vibes) -Nancy Sinatra (anything by her, some cool collaborations with great singer/producer Lee Hazelwood as well) -Estela Raval y los 5 Latinos (Argentinian pop singer from the 60s, fun stuff, easy listening, "30 Exitos Inolvidables" is a great collection) -Francoise Hardy (60s French pop-rock/"ye-ye" singer, fantastic voice, "Mon Amie la rose" is a legendary song and good starting point, "Tous Les garçons et les filles" is one of her big hits) -Jacques Dutronc (Francoise' husband, groovy stuff in a similar vein, I'm partial to "Mini, mini, mini")

This was so fun! I highly recommend a 70s artist named Shawn Phillips. Might be hard to find his vinyl in the Netherlands but he’s on the streamers. The record Collaboration from 1971 is great, plus Second Contribution. He’s almost spooky is his musicality. Definitely operating on another haunted frequency. My brother owns a record store called B-Side in Madison, Wisconsin, so I’m bombarded with good stuff. He’s been working there for 40 years! Younger people discovering older stuff (and vinyl) is so great, and I agree with you about gatekeeping; anyway we find music is legit, whether it’s TikTok, a commercial, or piped through a grocery store’s speakers….I’m happy to hear you’re a poet. Me too! You’ve become my fave channel and have been binging your vids😊 cheers, or should I say relax? We all DO need to relax😂
If you enjoy The Mamas and the Papas you should check out Cass and Denny's previous band 'The Mugwumps.' It's more folk rock than The Mamas and the Papas, and they only released one self titled album, but I just love it and Cass and Denny's vocals are so good and familiar (Everybody's Been Talkin' is my fav track) Also Cass's cover of 'Dream a Little Dream of Me' is amazing.

Not entirely similar, but I think you’d dig the Fleet Foxes first album if you’re not hip to it already. A fantastic and maturely realized work from start to finish. Do you like Joanna Newsom? Lastly, I just thought I would mention my pick if I had to grab only one out of my entire collection from a house fire…it would be The Appleseed Cast - Low Level Owl, Volumes 1&2. An astounding journey of soaring, ambient, experimental, progressive, melancholic dream rock. Enigmatic thematic threads throughout, both musically and lyrically, with gorgeous soundscapes and inventive drumming. Thank you!
