Melrose deserved the win. She slayed the whole season, her pictures, her challenges, her overall look, I think she improved as a person too from beginning to now and that, to me, is also what ANTM is about. Not just growing as a model but as a person too.

Many people think that Melrose should have won but ANTM doesn't rely only on beauty, walk, and jobs well done, there are other qualities that are critical in order to win for example you could have walked the catwalk better than Tyra and Naomi Campbell, the best pictures taken, the best makeup, the best looks but if you ar missing other characteristics you will NOT win. Throughout the entire competition, every single detail counts including Sentiments, feelings, looks, concentration, intelligence, friendliness, behavior, love for yourself, industry, and others, respect, quick thinking, extreme passion for the industry, charisma, collaboration, and presence, among many others and these are all measured throughout the competition and if you lack in any of the critical characteristics it takes only one to get you out and not win. They both were great but Caridee nailed more.

She was all about bragging about her life before top model and she also seemednlike an in the closet racist. The judges obviously saw those traits and it caused her to be second place, not to mention that she looks too old, and was the oldest contestant. I personally think that the ANTM of cycle7 winner should have been Amanda who came in 4th place.
Honestly , to this day I still can't believe that Melrose didn't win. Sure, Caridee had a more youthful face, but her runways wasn't as good as Melrose's. Sure Caridee was sweet as opposed to Melrose. But , Melrose was misunderstood because she was brutally honest. She was called a bitch by the other girls because they felt threatened by her ability. And honestly , self confidence is part of being a model. People who are confident of themselves have no reason to suck up to others or act nice ( yep, some of the models in the show ( all cycles) were ' innocent white lotuses', who acted nice , but were full of shit. I preferred the straight forward Melrose to those fake people) I love Caridee ( Michelle was my fav, followed by Anchal ) , but If ANTM selects a model based on how nice they are, then the show should be named ' America's next nicest model' not ' America's next top model'.
