Is muyu religious? And the best solution to the eye contact thing is just building more confidence. Her problems seem inherently linked to low self esteem and authoritative teaching that doesnt work.

Thinking you are harmless is the biggest eye contact killer I've noticed in people. And honestly I have trouble giving advice for it if you're a smaller woman. I would suggest getting into martial arts with a friend (so you're not all alone) and working on the mindset that IF people offend you ,you shouldn't be afraid or submissive, but get angry with them.
Not physical or anything, but as emotions fear and anxiety are a confidence killer and anger is a confidence booster. People that judge you when you look them in the eye deserve your anger ,not you fear or submission. And you're not a bad person if you allow yourself to be angry ,just like you're not a good person ,just because you make yourself harmless.
If you're harmless ,you have no other choice. You have to be able to hurt someone and decide not to. There is a big psychological difference.
I'm not a professional ,but I've struggled with this myself and that's the path I've taken to help it. Still have social anxiety, but I'm no longer socially crippled, it's just more draining than for the average person.
