- Tirunelveli - Chennai Egmore Vande Bharat Express overtakes Vaigai Express | Indian Railways
Erode WAP7 with Madurai Junction - Chennai Egmore "Vaigai Express" departed Mambalam railway station and halted at Kodambakkam railway station for the Vande Bharat Express to overtake. Then the Tirunelveli - Chennai Egmore Vande Bharat Express switched from B Line to A Line and overtook Vaigai Express and again switched from A Line to B Line and moved towards Chennai Egmore railway station
PS: This happens inside Chennai Suburbs or outer. The scheduled arrival of the Vande Bharat Express is 01:50 pm and for the Vaigai Express is 02:10 pm

In terms of capability, as per my knowledge Vande Bharat is nothing but an EMU (Electrical Multiple Unit) like our suburban local train with multiple engines throughout the train however a single WAP 7 with 6000 BHP is enough to haul 21 ICF/LHB coaches. I believe at any given point WAP7 will beat Vande Bharat. Here the Priority is for Vande Bharat because of its status 😊

@@KishoreKumar-cs6dd For that VB is not a Shinkansen 😄 and if we club multiple WAP 7 it can still pose a challenge to a Shinkansen theoretically. Practically it is an infra issue to run VB in Shinkansen mode in our country. My point is if it takes multiple engines to run an EMU be it VB or Shinkansen, it still is not a match for existing locos.

Why vb goes thro loop line. Loop line is slow line n vb has 8 coaches. Comparing to vaigai,vb is 1/3rd. Hence vb could gain speed after entering main line

I want a new vande bharat express to connect from Coimbatore to Kanniyakumari via Pollachi, Udumalaipettai, Pazhani, Dindukkal, Madurai, Thirunelveli and Nagarkoil.
Railway lines need improvement for high speed trains in this route.
Electrification still pending between Podanur & Pollachi.

Sometimes parallel run also happens
Slowing other trains for showing VB as fast is bad , VB is a good train no doubt , but tracks has to be updated for VB to be faster else all normal trains will be slowed down

Just like everything else with Modi - cameramen strategically positioned, Vaigai Express stopped so that Vande Bahrain train can be shown as going faster or overtaking. SHAMEFUL!
