While watching the video, I found the Phase 2 explanation of the video is what I am applying to my project. The video also explained that gathering data will be either qualitative, quantitative, or both, and I will use both methods to collect data for my project. I rate this video as a four. It is informative about the steps to complete an action research project, but it is very short. Watching this video, I would probably need to watch more videos with more profound information about action research. This video received a lot of positive reviews from viewers. Many stated that the video was easy to understand even though the video was 2 minutes. I agree with the reviewers that the video makes the process of an action researcher project more understandable.
This was very succinct. I'm a first time researcher and this broke it down for me in a way I can understand. Of course now that I've seen this video, it's obvious, but sometimes a person just needs something to be said in a new way. The illustrations probably helped too. Thank you
I am a new researcher as well, and this was absolutely perfect. And he did this in less than three minutes with illustrations and a complete unpacking. Amazing! I have already taken so many notes from this video.
This was a very good explanation of the research process. It was interesting to hear my profession referred to as being an artist and a scientist. This video rates at a 4 for me because the information was useful to the class I am taking.
@@spencereducation Hi John Can you guest in my vlog thru a zoom interview .wouldlove to interview you and talk about your passion and advocacies. Thanks! How can I readu you directly? Thanks!
The book I am using calls them the 3 steps of Action Research. 1. Discovery 2. Measurable Action 3. Reflection. Is the phase concept you present the newer way of looking at AR? Or will the book I have divide these Steps into the phases later on???
There are many action research models, but they all generally include discovery / questions, action, and reflection. So, I can't really comment on how your book might explain it.
Hi there. Thank you for the enlightening presentation. This comes in so handy, especially after reading a journal article that adopts this method. Mind if I kindly ask: The only difference here and other kinds of research is that this is participative (between the researcher and participant), correct? Because other processes in the following phases seem to follow the similar steps of the other research methods as explained in the video (e.g. literature reviews, qualitative / quantitative method, analyze results and draw conclusion). Thank you!
I've loved your videos for years, John! How do you create your illustrated videos btw? I am trying to up my skills in this area for my workplace. Thanks for your help!
What software do TH-camrs like you use to make such videos? It's fascinating but seems like a lot of hard work unless there's a software that does the legwork
we were asked to give our opinions on action research in class and we had to avoid giving definitions or illustrations and just talk about the characteristics of action research. any ideas?
hey! please can you tell me how did u give your opinion about action research characteristics?... because we are asked to do the same thing and i have no idea about it!!! Thank you!!
It didn't explain where/how the students are involved which is where I'm confused at. Steps are like any other research. On to the next video/article for me.

You explain this topic in two minutes better than my lecturer does in one and a half our meeting
😂😂😂😂
Honestly!!!
Came to the comments to say this exact thing. This was more clearly laid out and better defined than the course I've been in for 12 weeks.
Mr. Spencer,
Your post is one of the shortest, easy-to-understand, and impactful videos I have viewed on TH-cam.

Yes, that's the biggest difference. It should be practioner-driven.
Thank you very much for the reply! Interesting to know.

You do apply your strategy, techinuqe, or whatever you are testing with your actual students and from there you collect the data.
ha the use of Data was great..
