Thanks for those honest and candid comments at the end of this video Tom, much appreciated. I am planning a similar trip next year when the new RT comes out, so no mud for me either…..hopefully. Keep up the great work, I only found your channel last week and I have binge watched all of them 🍔👍so I am up to date
Thanks for the support @dennismcenaney7139. I bet your looking forward to that new RT. Don't let your current bike know about it tho. 😄 Thats awesome that your enjoying my videos too, I hope I can keep bringing out content that you enjoy. cheers mate👍👍 and thanks for the sub.😊
Hey dude, you don't need to explain yourself. Ride your ride. Everyone is different. And you are 100% correct, if you're tired or not firing on all 4 stop if you can. It's safer and more enjoyable that way. In answer to your earlier question, when I do multi-day trips I'll do 3-400kms a day on the types of roads you're riding and alternate between camping and hotel/motel rooms. I just find I get a better rest in a real bed and more than 1 night in a tent means I'm too tired to safely ride.
Cheers for the support mate.👍 yeah I think it's better when you know your limits because you can really start making bad mistakes, especially when your riding alone. the alternating method seems the best I reckon also. Thanks for watching @chriss8620
I am altering my touring equipment constantly as well. Some things I felt were necessary aren't, others become necessary. I think that is how it goes. The pain killers are a must have with me. Maybe, if you don't want to take something like a jetboil with a french press for coffee, there is caffeine powder for example. I haven't traveled long distance on cravel and dirt roads. So I can't comment. I have been on the bike yesterday for 921km and 13:30h. Yesterday it was just such a day, where I didn't get tired and still felt good. A few weeks ago in Italy I was sometimes toast after 300km. The roads were much more challenging and the heat didn't help either. In general I prefer to drive longer ranges to be honest though.
That’s a hell of a distance to travel. If I’m road riding then my distance increases, as you said if the riding is more challenging then the distance decreases. Good tip about the powder, I will have to grab some. Thanks for sharing your experience with me. 👍👍
That sandpit where you did "adventure training", where abouts was that? My friend is on of the Finns that ruined yet another beautiful campsite by a lake with his cabin in that part of Finland, which on the other hand could serv as a nice base from which to visit that sandpit for som "training" 😁
@rogersittnikow It was on the trans euro trail between Auttoinen and Jämsä. I'm sorry I can't be more specific as I didn't think to check the location while I was there. how dare your friend have the audacity to have a lake house there.😂😂😂 Maybe your friend could start a small camping business for the TET riders. 😉😉😉. Cheers for watching mate.👍
@@BavarianBloodhound1 cheers mate, that narrows the search area nicely! We've already booked a weekend to go check it out. Thanks for your great vids of your ride!
😂😂 yes you are correct but then at the end of summer I wouldn’t have my R 1300 GS Ammm I a thinking Jawa pilot? I’m not sure if this is an insult 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Probably is but ignorance is bliss. Thanks for watching anyway 👍
it was a marker that stated (possible flooding Sudenpesäntie) unfortunately I cannot attach a photo here. I rode from hämeenlinna to auttoinen on the road to miss it.
@@BavarianBloodhound1 Aaah... that one! It's not on the TET track and it means that sometimes in spring beavers have built a dam and the "road" goes through the river.
yeah It's not the greatest compared to the 1250 seat comfort in my opinion. I think the seat has a bit less foam inside and it is slightly tilted forward for a more aggressive position. Also the foot peg to seat distance has slightly decreased giving the impression of being a little cramped. Over all It is still a very comfy bike to be on. Again this is just my opinion and yours may be different when you go to sit on one.
Well If you had a bad time with the 1200, it could go either way. Maybe the 1300 suits you better and there is no need to upgrade the seat🤞 Time in the saddle is the only way to know for certain. 👍

Hämeenlinna has one of the best burger places in Finland, Hamptown burger, If you go back through there I recommend that. Can eat outsude so bike gear is no problem. Question, why do you stand when riding on the gravel roads, doesnt that cause extra fatigue?
Thanks for the burger suggestion @Rafu01 will check it out next time I’m there. When it’s easy dirt road with almost no turns and I’m standing it’s usually just me stretching but if it’s more technical dirt road when you stand you gain more stability and control over the bike, especially in loose ground.
You can keep refilling your water for free from any gas station tap
