During his time, he put his state and, indeed, Nigeria on the global tourism map through programs and projects. His vision was top-notch. This was what Dubai did and what Saudi Arabia is trying to do now. His vision was to make Cross River the Dubai of Africa. I live in the US, and most of the folks I see here want to go on a tour to Ghana. And I ask, why not Nigeria? Some of my closest friends who knew about my choice laughed at me for voting for him because they said he wasn't going to win. Yes, he didn't win, but I was glad I voted for him because he checked the boxes of the parameters by which I assessed the contestants. If we would just be objective in our electoral choices, vote massively, and defend our votes, maybe we will be able to get it right with leadership in Nigeria. I do not think the situation is irredeemable. As more and more people become conscious and aware of the impact of governance on their survival, they will begin to be less sentimental and more objective in their voting choices. It may take some time, though.
