  • In this recording from 1994, Ram Dass joins Duncan Campell on the radio show “Connections” for a conversation about truth, cultural change, and what happens when acid meets beer.
    Truth and Consequences (10:28)
    When Acid Meets Beer (19:03)
The Truth of the Heart (31:58)
“This time around either everybody goes or nobody goes. It’s not enough to polarize again, that’s what we did in the ‘60s. We were the good guys with truth and love, and they were the bad people with fear and contraction. And that’s not good enough anymore, really.” - Ram Dass

This was such a great interview. For those who could be in the 60’s and where we ended up. This was following the previously powerful Regan administration then the moderate Clinton and the hope of a new world and Vaclav Havel…new kind of Eastern block politician and the hope…I can remember Ram Dass telling us in the audience once “if you loved the 60’s you’re really gonna love the 90’s!” But he lived long enough to see where we are now as we continue a 300 year cycle of air signs of innovation science and communication.

This comment is to peacefully protest the gatekeeping of RD’s lectures. Common complaints as elucidated by the community on the Ram Dass subreddit are as follows.
Removal of content, privatizing/licensing out content, copyright striking others who post content without replacing what was removed or providing another means to access the content.
Restriction of what is released, cutting and editing pieces of full lectures and not releasing the full lectures themselves.
Putting a paywall in place that provides access to still limited content.
Access to content is overall severely limited compared to just a year or two ago.

I like listening to ram dass, I find very long introductions (until 13 minutes 30 in this one, ) pointess, he doesn't need an introduction, and if he does it should be very short in my opinion. There are other ram dass talks on TH-cam that don't have the long introductions before he speaks.

      I agree keeping Ragu’s intros.
I heard Ragu put the context I didn’t realize of when Ram Dass threw the food at them at the ashram and they were kind if judging him I think and Maharaji basically said No! You have no idea who he is and the work he will do!
It also makes me think of Yogananda’s guru telling him he was going to go West and spread the knowledge. It was a vital mission!
