    Y’all realize she isn’t screaming right? She’s belting. And it’s a powerful and healthy belt too. The reason it’s loud or sounds like “screaming” is bc the music isn’t building with her. Listen to the original recording of the song and you’ll see what I mean. Vocally, this is a very demanding song and she met every expectation. The only thing that didn’t meet the expectations Imo is the accompaniment, which isn’t Renée’s fault or really anyone’s fault it just wasn’t thought through that well I think

    23?! Unbelievable that her voice can only get better and she's already got to be one of the greatest vocalists we have...WHY AREN'T PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT HER MORE!

    Renee’s tone and vocal ability is incredible. Her range is amazing and although this performance may not have been her best- I wouldn’t completely write it off. Snow Angel is not an easy song to sing, especially the bridge. I would advise listening to the record to get the actual feel of the song. This is definitely a song that needs to be felt and not just heard.

    Wow! This is why she is one of the best vocalists’ today. Reneé coming to slay with the vocals as usual! The way she effortlessly flips between falsetto into a mix belt is ridiculous lol, I mean the control alone it takes to sing this song is insane and she shaped this song so perfectly with her dynamics!

    i'm so confused by some of these comments, she's deadass just belting -- a very normal way to sing -- and she clearly has a lot of control over her voice to be able to flip between a belt and a soft falsetto so often and smoothly. maybe the instrumentation was too soft for how loud she got, but this is pretty much just what belting is

    I also don't understand the hate on this. Renee is very talented vocally but even more so lyrically - she's very good at song writing, storytelling, symbolism etc. This song is about the time she was drugged and lost consciousness, waking up in a bathroom stall, which honestly makes me appreciate the storytelling even more. I must admit, I don't like the shouting singing in the bridge and have to mute that part when I listen to it, but that's personal preference, she still has an amazing voice.

    • @jacobmccain8794
      @jacobmccain8794 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hey that’s, preference. Being a voice teacher, there’s a difference between showing and mixed belting. What Reneé does, has so clarity and healthy placement, which why she can consistently do that and weave in out of registers with out sounding tired or shrilly. I get it’s loud, but there’s a different between healthy belting and shouting. She also has a thinker and warmer voice compared to an Ariana Grande for example who belts but with a much Luther instrument. To each their own tho, I think she’s a vocal powerhouse and knows when to bring it and when to show up the lighter headier, falsettos sides to her voice. She does both masterfully which is why she is definitely one of the best vocalist in the game right now!
