I like to keep a lock pick. If you find yourself in a disadvantage you can run into a room and lock the door. They'll have to either use a lock pick,a mele weapon or shoot it to get it open and 95% of the time when the go to break the door they stand right in front of it. They're expecting you to trying and shoot them when they open the door but what you want to do is shoot them through the door when they go to break it open
That only works when the server is not restarting because once the server restarts the door becomes unlocked. All they have to do is wait you out or wait till server restarts.
I’ve kind abandoned lockpicks for the most part I just get creative with trip wires either to alert me of someone entering or snag a grenade on one and blow them sky high.
@A1Kira true but combat logging isn't fun, you will for sure lose a 5vs1 if you are locked on a room and they are good but that's the game and you can even bring some of them to hell with you, they get your loot and you some of theirs lifes seams fair to me
Great I found you who explain great basic thoughts that New Players can build up to that knowledge and use it for their own style of playing. - I would keep some seeds with me. - I'm playing on a Hardcore PVE Server where you don't find "normal" Food. Zombies give you nothing and the Watershell are not working. So I wear always 1 Slot with Seeds with me. As soon I find a shovel or spot where someone else grew som vegs, I just plant them and have food for one Day. Not to forget to take the seed from one veg again to do the same circle on other days. - Your videos are great!
Yellow Protective Case. I fill it with meds, Tertra, Codine, charcoal, vitamins, water purification tabs. Maybe an extra bandaids. I’d have to look. This keeps it all in spot. Easy to drop and snag my meds I need. Red First Aid. I keep a prepped Saline and Blood bag. As well a Brisket Cup for lil food. If you need this bag you prob need some food. LoL again together. Easy to find and easy to use. I keep one of these back at camp ready to roll. I don’t like dying
I like having everything I need for combat In my vest and everything else for survival in my back pack, that way I can drop the back pack for combat and more stamina, and I have lots of room for more loot to take back to base. Right now I’m running a KA 74 with a scope, and a fx 45 with a suppressor.
Thanks for the great video. I'm fairly new to dayz and find myself always grabbing every rifle I see, kind of hard since Im not fully aware of their capabilities but this guide definitely helps me know I am doing more harm than good probably. Additionally, great tip in the backpack, I hadn't considered dumping it when I'm combat for the added stamina, thats a huge bonus for a newbie such as myself. Thanks again man 💪🏽
I appreciate the videos. Dayz is one of those games (there aren't many, imho) that; any nugget of wisdom has a measurable reduction in the time spent running around like a plum.
I havn't played much since 2016/17ish. I used to roll with a Boony hat, a handcrafted backpack, and some Gorka if I could find it, but anything camo or green in general and nothing else. I would do gillie runs and just roll with what ever inven I had, with a machete and a Mosin on my back. I'm thinking about jumping back in, and I've enjoyed your scope and nighttime vids. Super useful, thanks for the work, gave a sub. Oh Seven.
Thanks again as I find myself hording. Gonna start using your suggestions with some tweaks as you said. Cannot even begin to tell you how much your videos have helped me survive in Day z. In fact after recently getting killed by my own lack of attention the person who did the deed was surprised I had been alive for as long as I had. Without your help I would have given up on this game but with it I enjoy playing more.
I just watched this video but I’m pleasantly surprised at how much of this I was instinctively doing already, without keeping in mind I could dump my bag in a fire fight. All your videos make this game seem more fun
I always sort my inventory. Personal administration is incredibly important and yet in the 5 years I've been playing I have never come across another player who sorts their inventory out. It's odd. Pouches contain mags and ammo, jacket is for meds (since I'm squad medic I need more than most others), pants are ancillaries like spare ammo, a few batteries, lock picks etc. Finally, backpack is reserved for food primarily and the odd claymore, PE etc. If I'm running ghillie then the same applies, apart from the pants contain the food too. You just have to ditch some of the non essential items. Always wear assault boots to sheath a knife, have a holster for a silenced pistol and a belt for your canteen. It's also good practice to shove batteries in anything that will take them just to free up space.
Absolutely same, Only 800 hours on dayz xbox, but i've played Unturned for almost 9000 hours, for a low poly kids game it can be made real hard if you want.
and yes, obviously i came to DayZ to enjoy the realism from Arma in a zombie apocalypse setting, unturned is still a fairly simplistic game most of the time, don't roast me guys i can see it coming.
Thanks for the video! Helpful stuff for me. I'm a hoarder. :D I keep stuff for just in case. And after this video, I'll try to plan ahead and manage my inventory better. I'll drop my other rifle that I've been carrying for two days now :D Keep making the tutorials. I've been enjoying these before I even started to play and I still watch your stuff. Thanks man! 😎
After couple of hours of playing DayZ I know what questions to ask of how to improve my survival skills. This game is Sooo not arcade. Great video mate👍
I recently gave myself food poisoning from eating with bloody hands and used charcoal pills as a remedy which I learned from one of your videos, I found they didn't immediately cure me and it still took around 3 days to recover, did I do something wrong or is that normal, also great video as always learned at least 5 very useful tips and always find your content entertaining
For console players (like myself) quicklsot your backpack so that you can grab it while moving and drop it if needs be so you don’t have to stop to open inventory, also a really easy rule of thumb I use is if I can vault walls I’m not carrying too much try to aim to be able to vault walls and fences and drop things that you can find easily or that you haven’t used in 2-3 ingame days
Also on a side note too I run the Ak-74 and a m70/savanna if I can, mags are quite common ammo is too also it means I have a good intermediate cal assault rifle and a high cal long range rifle with a good zoom scope ( I avoid the SVD like the plague as the scope just doesn’t cut it)
Was having issues. Figured you already covered it. You did. As a new player, you keep about everything because you don't really know yet. I mean, I have SOME idea since I am not new to survival games, but I didn't know rope was important as it is and I didn't know how rare nails were, so I left a couple boxes sadly
I spend a lot of time in the woods. I like your list a lot but would add a compass, ax, and sharpening stone. Sometimes an extra pair of foot wear if I’m running a lot. I would take out the grenades and the second knife but I’m also fairly new and aren’t playing the PVP role of raiding or trading or having to defend any bases. I’m just running around the woods live life like Les Stroud.
@@SuperUvix when I don’t have a leather kit and I don’t want to loot as I go I will carry an extra pair of footwear. If I have a leather kit I won’t bother.
I grab what I think is useful like tape, rags, food, sticks, bark, guns, ammo only for the guns I have, a melee weapon, knife, backpack, water when I can, and whatever else I find useful being lockpicks maybe building a shelter or fence to wall off a building maybe.
I finally did a respawn where I keep a burlap backpack to keep my profile and sound down. I do have a fire jacket and hunting vest that have lots of inventory, but it’s the first time I don’t go for max loot slots. It’s so doable especially for a pve player
Mk11 for zombies cuz ammo stacks for dayz and economical cleaning Deagle or revolver for PvP Compass is also an invaluable tool, kinda hard navigating in woodlands at night on 1pp servers lol
I usually try to keep 1 Sniper Rifle and 1 SMG along with a pistol and a knife. I usually scout cities with my scope to look for open doors or zombie bodies, which are signs that either a player has been through recently or the town has already been looted. After that I take note of which buildings are my target, depending on my needs at the moment. When I figure out my targets I make my approach via tree lines blind spots which give me maximum cover and stealth kill any undead I have to with my knives. Once I make it to my target/s I loot whatever I need and find a good spot to check my tourist map and plan my route further. I usually make long term route plans but only plan for one town at a time as this allows me maximum flexibility with the routes I take.
I've been trying to adapt some of the techniques that bwad99 employs - minimal gear, small bag or no backpack at all, civilian-like clothing and minimal weaponry - I play in official servers so I think it makes a lot of sense here - the best way to not advertise that you want to get PvP'd is to not dress like you're ready to PvP. My current life is just a guy in a pea coat, hunter vest, and small leather duffel bag with a Mosin and an IJ70. I'd like to swap the IJ for a Skorpion at some point and pick up an MK II for zombies but that's about all I want to carry outside of a few essentials for staying light on my feet. My stamina is currently at about 80-90% on the bar which is huge for making fast or long stealth sprints easy. I don't really even plan to pick up armor currently, as armor is useful when you intend to get shot. I don't intend to get shot and if I'm in a situation where I'm getting shot and can't figure out where it's coming from, armor probably wouldn't have saved me anyway. Plate carrier is just too dang heavy for anything outside of very specific situations, running around with one and eating up all those calories seems really wasteful for 95% of the time. Stab vest is light but has no storage, and the press vest is twice the weight as the stab vest. The press vest is probably the best all arounder if you want to keep armor but so far I haven't found it to be that big of a force multiplier in keeping me alive. The times I've been killed so far is from people shooting me out of seemingly nowhere I had no idea were there, once I'm in that situation a simple headshot could take me down, or if I'm knocked, a second shot usually will do you in even with a carrier, once you're out, it's basically game over anyway. I also avoid most face coverings as they give a bandit appearance, especially the ski mask or balaclava, I keep my face uncovered and at most will put an earth-tone bandana over my mouth to help conceal my face. I haven't found everything I want in the loadout yet but I think if I had to optimize further it might be something like this: Mosin with compensator and PU scope, or a Blaze or Tundra with the Hunter scope. Some sort of SMG or full auto capable, suppressed close range gun - Skorpion, Bizon, or KAS-74U are my guns of choice as they're all back-able and don't go above the shoulders when on the back. Hunter vest for storage and insulation, or dark colored press vest Black pea coat or possibly bomber jacket Tactical belt with holster for MkII, sheath for a combat knife, and my canteen hanging from it Black cargo pants or just plain jeans Leather duffel bag or green/black drybag backpack (keep things completely dry, can dump in a body of water to conceal if needed, one of the lightest backpacks in the game) Black radar cap (like how it looks) Camo or black or green bandana (can be a bandage in a pinch) Whatever gloves, padded, wool, tactical, whatever can be relatively dark I'm pretty partial to the trail shoes. Assault boots are great for the knife slot but they wear EXTREMELY quickly IME. No arm band. Then for gear actually in my inventory: Vest would ammo for my guns and any mags I'd carry (one spare for the Skorpion/other full auto close engagement weapon basically) - I would carry 100-150 rounds for the MKII since I'll go through it a lot and they're pretty light, maybe 1-2 full stacks for the Mosin/Blaze/Tundra then a box or two for the Skorpion/whatever is in the mags. I'd also carry my plastic bottle suppressor for the Mosin in here as I don't like it on the gun if it doesn't need to be. It sends the wrong message and is visually very conspicuous. If I need to make a quiet shot which is pretty much only clearing highly populated areas where it's not likely I'll be able to talk my way out, I will place it on the gun once I'm in position. Otherwise it's a huge flag of "shoot me now, I'm out hunting people!" rather than "I use this gun to kill wildlife" Jacket would hold a couple piece of spare food or drink to spread it out of the backpack a bit and a set of improvised foot wrappings. Pants would hold a spare Kukri or Machete...could maybe drop this though as the combat knife is pretty awesome for the way I play anyway... Backpack/bag would hold: Drybag or cooking pot with as much of a stack of tetra or multivites, as full of a bottle of alcohol tincture as I can get (it is lighter than iodine or disinfectant), my lighter, maybe a spare bandage, a fish hook with bait - basically stuff I will never need to get to very quickly and I absolutely do not want damaged. Maybe a couple pieces of baked fruit or some of the 1-slot spreads like the pates or brisket or pajka, a can of some sort of drink, and maybe a single canned good like spaghetti as that seems to be easy to find and pretty nutritious Sharpening stone or two (you don't need any spare knives if you've got one of these babies) Two full bandage stacks, swapping out partly used ones for full when I can, or disinfected rags if that's what I have available An epoxy putty if I'm carrying armor A roll of duct tape Disinfected sewing kit (fix my clothes or in a pinch, wounds) MAYBE a leather repair kit if I'm carrying leather shoes and armor both, else I'd just scout for one when my shoes need it Maybe a gun cleaning kit but these are usually easy to scout for at camps, one run I found 4 of them in one camp location, or can be gotten from pretty out-of-the-way deer stands that keep you out of the cities Thing of rope for fishing This loadout or something similar to it should keep you above 75% or so on the stamina bar and should cover most realistic engagements outside of more PvP focused servers, my intention is to stay out of populated areas as long as possible and survive. Eventually once I get geared my gameplay would shift to long sessions of stalking players seeing if I can remain undetected as I watch them go through their playthrough, searching for hidden supply caches (I found one with two VSS in it the other day just randomly in the woods) and generally staying out of view of people, hoping that when I am eventually seen, I can work my way through a situation either by talking it down, or by concealing the fact that I have a full auto gun and not using it until I absolutely need to.
Okay, I didn't know that you could combine the cooking pot, stove and fuel cancer. I knew about the stove and fuel cancer, but I didn't realize that they could triple down with the cooking pot. That's a handy one
I'm traumatized for ammo carrying after a particular fight on Xbox near Zub Castle. We were in the woods nearby and ended up fighting two different groups (6 enemies total) with a 3 man squad. The firefight lasted for over two hours since people kept running back (we only lost one man). We had m4s and lars and tundras and were fighting at least one group that had all lars (turned out they were running with dupers). Things were so bad that we were taking boots and mags from the dead bodies of our enemies while fighting from two improvised shelters we built to use as cover in the woods. We used so much ammo that it was ridiculous. Ever since then, i try to keep 6-7 magazines on me plus loose rounds to top off with at all times. But then again I play on pc these days (and modded), so it's a bit different to say the least
I’m probably the lightest Cary person in the game I cary a LAR with 4 mags ( one in the gun three in my inventory) the attachments are 4x32 or 6x48 because of the smaller scope on top and the LAR’s full auto ability and .308 win caliber making it extremely versatile I will also Carry a bit of food and water and a suppressed pistol then a bag and plate Carrier and 2 knifes most of the time my character only weights about 35kg
I have found it useful when traveling with a group to carry a jerrycan of purified water. It has save me and my friend multiple times and lasts forever
I actually don't disinfect rags or bandages, I'll use already disinfected bandages if I have them and if not, then I'll use rags or a sewing kit. It takes less time and disinfectant to cure stage 1 wound infection than it does to disinfect rags and sewing kits I may or may not use for bleeds
I always bring too much food, but I run with a group that constantly doesn't prep for food so it works out. I can feed my buddies and also make some inventory space. I've got bear steak and filets for days!
My wife got me to play this with her, day 4 of playing and now that I’ve gotten decently geared im being a bit of a hoarder 😂 Literally was having to figure out what to drop today so I could jump 🤦♂️
Lmao! Yeah, that happens a lot. The game teaches you to use everything you find, and then you run out of space and dont want to depart with anything because it feels like you might need them.
I rarely to never carry food with me. Eat get it full, lasts ages. Keep water. Fishing is op, so very useful. Sewing kit, leather, epoxy, plus duct tape.
AlwaysStreams you mention being on a M&K server on console to combine medicines but you can do it on controller also. The difference in the process is you have to combine with the item in your hand instead of just dragging it on top with a mouse.
Yeah I'm aware, I play console/controller a lot but thank you! =] Tbh, I don't know why I didn't add it in at the time of making but this comment will likely help someone in future!
I am like somewhat new. I always keep every magazine and every bullit. To whenever I find the correct weapon. Also sometimes when I get full I trow out some magazines or bullits to then just later on find the weapon and I have no ammo for it. I also keep lots of guns. I know I should not keep every gun. I usually keep 1 pistol and a submachine gun (I like the scorpion a lot, its just good overal for zombies and players in close range fight) I also always carry 2 long guns on my back. I usually try get a sniper or like sks and a assault rifle. Yeah I have lots of guns but it just sometimes feels weird to trow shit out. And yeah I die when never getting to use all. I think I should try to lower my weapon counts and random shit and just learn to trow shit away, because like you said its easely to get new stuff...
I’ve played a ton for 2 years now. I understand why people want their inventories sorted specifically like all their ammo and mags in their jacket and all food in another piece of clothing etc, for being able to access quickly when in combat etc, but personally I’ve found that it works best spreading stuff out throughout all clothing. I keep magazines usually in 2 different pieces of clothing next to each other. I do a similar thing with very critical items like bandages. As soon as I acquire anything super valuable, I immediately put it in my backpack. The reason for why I place things like this is in the event of combat, if you live through a .308 round to the chest and your jacket is ruined, and you had all of your magazines and ammo in that, you are screwed for the rest of the gunfight (bullet hitting clothing and damaging it damages some or all items stored in that piece of clothing). You typically don’t have time to reload much at all until the gunfight is over if you lived so don’t worry about making it easier for you to reload so much. In addition, unless you only have like 5 rounds, you will most likely have enough ammo to take out multiple enemies before having to worry about reloading if you run your guns on semi auto. This is a big bwain pro tip. Get good with semi and you will come out on top.
@@AlwaysStreams ty i changed my key bind to auto ads when pressing right click maybe i should change it back and get used to it. do you have a discord server???
I just started a new hardcore rp server. My inventory has 6 bone hooks a makeshift fishing rod a shovel 3 knives loose ammo a sledge hammer cooking pot 7 pieces of chicken 7 fish 2 rope a smg a sawdoff shotgun a compass duck tape 2 sewing kit 3 bandages 6 rags. Canned food is extremely rare to find that why so much chicken and fish
I Keep 3 bandages too, But I put one in the top bag one in the middle and one in the bottom. Always in the lower left corner. I get panicky when I bleed and this makes it easier to grab one fast.
A lockpick is a necessity for me because i dont tote around a big ole pot, i leave that at base. That way when need be, I can cook my meat in a large oven in a locked up house. Yes, you can get past locked doors BUT you cant push without alerting me.
I had the game about a year ago, deleted it for storage, but recently I got bored and re-downloaded it. I’ve just been playing on NWAF PvP servers, so I’ve focused mainly on ammo and weapons
@@AlwaysStreams my k/d isn’t even valid tbh😂 I’ve just recently started playing pvp servers, I got the game last summer and got into it for a couple weeks, then moved to pvp and got too mad😂 I was used to fps games that were more aggressively played so I got too confident too often, but quickly found out that confidence and pride are the downfall of any DayZ player. Just remember to Be cautious at all times, and be smart. And try smaller pvp servers before you move into the bigger ones
So this is pertaining to the eye patch I think this was added in so if you wear it for awhile and go into a dark area and take it off you'll be able to see better out of the eye that had the eye patch on because said eye has been in the dark under the eye patch that is actually why pirates wore eye patches incase they had to board an enemy's ship and fight below in the dark hold as opposed to the sunlit deck just a bit of useless info I'd like to see you try it and see if it makes any difference just curious if the devs are smart or its cosmetic crap
This isnt about the inventory as much as the gear I'm wearing, but I always pass on boots. Athletic shoes, running shoes, dress shoes, are quieter than boots. With a pair of heavy boots on, an infected will hear you sneaking up, but with a pair of shoes on you can get right behind them for that tasty stealth kill. They're lighter weight too.
That's fair enough. Boots last a lot longer so they can be useful, but for stealth you're best off with rag shoes than regular, quarter of the health but excellent for sneaking if stealthing zombies is your goal =]
@@AlwaysStreams I kinda like the middle of the road. Not as heavy as boots, but more durable than wraps. Shoes are pretty easy to come by, and if I have to run a pair into the ground, I can have a pair of wraps waiting for me in my bag.
I would love to see someone else's take on inv management, I have a ghillie I got off a heli but not sure what I should be wearing with it to be effective and efficient.
I don't really agree about the food. On the official servers I've played on (Xbox), canned food is usually hard to find, and running around killing chickens or having your face in the dirt digging for worms feels pretty vulnerable to me. I like to do a bunch of hunting/stocking up and be done worrying about food for a couple of days. I don't mind if my opponents get my food, they're getting everything i had anyways. I'm pretty noob though, so i might change my mind some day.
I've found that stones seem to have gotten much more rare than they were...at least in vanilla. Some spawns I can spend 30 minutes looking all round the coast and never find a stone - in fact knives in general, I'm not finding near as much as I used to. Once you get to mid tier areas away from the coast axes and hatchets are in abundance but I don't even remember the last time I came across a hunting knife.....so I've been keeping any stones I find and I've ended up using all of them up before dying, since the sharpening stones are just super rare in vanilla.
If I'm looking for a knife on the coast, outhouses and sheds are the best way. You can find them in houses too but I have more look with the former. As for stones, train tracks, keep running along them, you'll find two. You will have to run quite a while sometimes but they're 100% there
@@AlwaysStreams Thanks. just tried and that worked. It feels like they moved the stone spawn points. I remember finding them on the coast more frequently but I guess now it's primarily train tracks and trails. Since I made this comment, i've been able to reliably find them on trails - but that's inland. I've only checked the tracks on the coast this week.
Are you guys operating out of a base or something? I’m very new to the game and at first glance it seems it’s typical to just spawn, play, die, very often without saving anything? Or is it like rust where you build a base to save items and spawn in, but can also be raided?
Awesome video. If I could ask for a video, could you do a stack guide? I stacked my Multivitamin an I could only do 20, but you had 48. Maybe I missed something.
They should stack to 50 I believe. I don't think I've ever had them stack to 20 before, other meds should be 12. Are you on console or PC? I can ask around about common glitches =]
This is a huge problem for me bc I spend a lot of time debating whether I should keep ammo for guns I don’t have or have 4 guns when I only need 1 rifle a handgun and a spray a pray
Haha happens to the best of us. I used to forget about bandages and would sometimes end up cutting clothes for rags in bad situations. Luckily after a while I'd remember
Is there anyway to organize your items on console? It upsets me you can’t have medical in one compartment and ammo in another. Why don’t we have a choice or is there a way to do this rather than just having everything get tossed in by the order in which you pick it up?
You can move things from your pants to your bag and so on. I think you hold X on Xbox Square on PS4/5. But to access the inventory like I do, you need to use a mouse and keyboard. I mostly just add things I need for medical purposes to my quick select wheel on console, it's wayyy easier =]
Yeah, holding X/Square to select an item - then using the bumpers and triggers to select the tab you want to move it to. It's fooken tedious as all hell m8, and if there is a way to actually organize your inventory(as opposed to just dropping things into tabs), I haven't figured it yet. v(·¬ ·)v
Horses for causes. Generally speaking, and remember, this is just my opinion: 95% of the land is forestation and fields so shotguns don’t always help(although slugs definitely increase the odds) Whereas, SMGs(and what I meant to add was assault rifels) give you good close and mid rage at a good rate of fire, whether you’re in an open field or a city/town. Whereas the rifles are great for long range and are almost a must in DayZ given how many snipers there are, so you’re pretty much covered using one of each. But it’s not that they’re better, it’s just that they’re probably more suited to most occasions and that specific combination covers more scope. That being said, shotguns are incredible when clearing out buildings and I do use them if my plan is to go to a city like Svet. And if you're a player who only encounters close range battles/feel more comfortable with a shotgun then 100% pick that.
I agree it was a good video, but do you or anybody know of a video that shows you how to place things in the correct order you want them specifically for PlayStation on PC people can just drag it and even flip them around that’s the video I was looking for if anyone could help meI would appreciate it
@@AlwaysStreams holy shit man thanks I can’t believe how quick you read and answered I’ll give ya a follow just for that have a good one man! Thanks again!
Anyone got tips for inventory management on console? Its such a drag (literally) to sort everything and half the time for some reason it doesnt even move it.
YA , drop items and add them after your other items are organized together. This is how I do it, keep all mags together and all bullets after mags. Only issue is after a fight you have to fix it all.
Another thing to look for and keep is a bottle of Vodka, if the time is right it can work in your favour, say goodbye to your post apocalyptic liver though
Great advice!
Not with poxy grens now tho they will just gas you out
That only works when the server is not restarting because once the server restarts the door becomes unlocked. All they have to do is wait you out or wait till server restarts.

Thanks again man 💪🏽
Glad you found it useful! Goodluck with your gaming =]
Oh Seven.
This video is gonna blow up now that they cut slot sizes now. Thank you for this
This is a few months old but you can also combine items of console without a keyboard as well!
I love how this game unlike others the vast differences of how ppl play. Makes the experiences always fresh 🎉
Exact same load-out, only exception being Mr. lock-pick. Saved my life many times. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks man! 😎
Thank you and I'm glad you're finding them useful!
Just started playing and this video gave me some nice tips
This is a great video and just what I was looking for (as a returning player).
I hope it helps!
Thank you!
Erm, it should have worked with a few pills 100% - could you have had something on top of it too?
I’m just running around the woods live life like Les Stroud.
footwear can be repaired with leather kit and an axe? What would you use this extra weight for on yourneys
@@SuperUvix when I don’t have a leather kit and I don’t want to loot as I go I will carry an extra pair of footwear. If I have a leather kit I won’t bother.
Great inventory management video 😎👍
The magazine tip is the hardest learned one. Generally, you’ll win or lose a fight within 2 mags save the space for ammo. Good video!
Thank you! And yeah, I made that mistake so many times before I realised how useless it was to keep so many mags ha
Its one of the reasons i like the mosin, sks and revolver no need for mags. The longer reload time usually i dont find a isue.
Yeah this is definitely helpful Ive been running around with almost no stamina and 300 rounds of 5.56 and too many gun cleaning kits etc
Watching now will update after viewing.
I carry way to many clips and ammo it seems then lol, cheers bud
Ngl same 😂
300th like 💪🏾💪🏾
Niceeeeee 😂
I grab what I think is useful like tape, rags, food, sticks, bark, guns, ammo only for the guns I have, a melee weapon, knife, backpack, water when I can, and whatever else I find useful being lockpicks maybe building a shelter or fence to wall off a building maybe.
I finally did a respawn where I keep a burlap backpack to keep my profile and sound down. I do have a fire jacket and hunting vest that have lots of inventory, but it’s the first time I don’t go for max loot slots. It’s so doable especially for a pve player
Mk11 for zombies cuz ammo stacks for dayz and economical cleaning
Deagle or revolver for PvP
Compass is also an invaluable tool, kinda hard navigating in woodlands at night on 1pp servers lol
This is really good content. I hope you continue making videos.
Thank you for the cool comment, honestly, comments like this are amazing!
Man! I love how you do that! Thanks for sharing
AlwaysStreams thanks for this valuable advice to this game it’s insane how detailed and complicated this game is to a rookie.😂
Glad you enjoy it!
I haven't found everything I want in the loadout yet but I think if I had to optimize further it might be something like this:
Mosin with compensator and PU scope, or a Blaze or Tundra with the Hunter scope.
Some sort of SMG or full auto capable, suppressed close range gun - Skorpion, Bizon, or KAS-74U are my guns of choice as they're all back-able and don't go above the shoulders when on the back.
Hunter vest for storage and insulation, or dark colored press vest
Black pea coat or possibly bomber jacket
Tactical belt with holster for MkII, sheath for a combat knife, and my canteen hanging from it
Black cargo pants or just plain jeans
Leather duffel bag or green/black drybag backpack (keep things completely dry, can dump in a body of water to conceal if needed, one of the lightest backpacks in the game)
Black radar cap (like how it looks)
Camo or black or green bandana (can be a bandage in a pinch)
Whatever gloves, padded, wool, tactical, whatever can be relatively dark
I'm pretty partial to the trail shoes. Assault boots are great for the knife slot but they wear EXTREMELY quickly IME.
No arm band.
Then for gear actually in my inventory:
Vest would ammo for my guns and any mags I'd carry (one spare for the Skorpion/other full auto close engagement weapon basically) - I would carry 100-150 rounds for the MKII since I'll go through it a lot and they're pretty light, maybe 1-2 full stacks for the Mosin/Blaze/Tundra then a box or two for the Skorpion/whatever is in the mags. Otherwise it's a huge flag of "shoot me now, I'm out hunting people!" rather than "I use this gun to kill wildlife"
Jacket would hold a couple piece of spare food or drink to spread it out of the backpack a bit and a set of improvised foot wrappings.
Pants would hold a spare Kukri or Machete...could maybe drop this though as the combat knife is pretty awesome for the way I play anyway...
Backpack/bag would hold:
Drybag or cooking pot with as much of a stack of tetra or multivites, as full of a bottle of alcohol tincture as I can get (it is lighter than iodine or disinfectant), my lighter, maybe a spare bandage, a fish hook with bait - basically stuff I will never need to get to very quickly and I absolutely do not want damaged.
Maybe a couple pieces of baked fruit or some of the 1-slot spreads like the pates or brisket or pajka, a can of some sort of drink, and maybe a single canned good like spaghetti as that seems to be easy to find and pretty nutritious
Sharpening stone or two (you don't need any spare knives if you've got one of these babies)
Two full bandage stacks, swapping out partly used ones for full when I can, or disinfected rags if that's what I have available
An epoxy putty if I'm carrying armor
A roll of duct tape
Disinfected sewing kit (fix my clothes or in a pinch, wounds)
MAYBE a leather repair kit if I'm carrying leather shoes and armor both, else I'd just scout for one when my shoes need it
Maybe a gun cleaning kit but these are usually easy to scout for at camps, one run I found 4 of them in one camp location, or can be gotten from pretty out-of-the-way deer stands that keep you out of the cities
Thing of rope for fishing
This loadout or something similar to it should keep you above 75% or so on the stamina bar and should cover most realistic engagements outside of more PvP focused servers, my intention is to stay out of populated areas as long as possible and survive.
Do you play pc or console?
@@jayred2908 PC when I wrote that comment, haven't played in a few months tho
Water is essential and yeah have a pot or 2 bottles. A can or 2 of soda is a "quick heal/temp" solution to dehydration/starving.
So helpful 100% my go to guide for this game keen to get me first game hoping for some friendly encounters lol
Thank you! And there will definitely be some friendly ones throughout ha
Okay, I didn't know that you could combine the cooking pot, stove and fuel cancer. I knew about the stove and fuel cancer, but I didn't realize that they could triple down with the cooking pot. That's a handy one
Do I have any mistakes?? All I make is mistakes 😂😂
And these are great vids man, super helpful. Please keep ‘em coming!
Thank you!!!
Best DayZ channel
Thank you so much!
Good video bro👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Appreciate it =]
I’m probably the lightest Cary person in the game I cary a LAR with 4 mags ( one in the gun three in my inventory) the attachments are 4x32 or 6x48 because of the smaller scope on top and the LAR’s full auto ability and .308 win caliber making it extremely versatile I will also Carry a bit of food and water and a suppressed pistol then a bag and plate Carrier and 2 knifes most of the time my character only weights about 35kg
Great vid - more like this plz
Thank you =]
I have found it useful when traveling with a group to carry a jerrycan of purified water.
I've got bear steak and filets for days!
very needed video thank you!!!
This helps what you should do is a video about clothes like what to wear and what will look cool
Thank you I'll look into it, maybe in relation to the best camo =]
@@AlwaysStreams yeah like best combo or like armor that goes with the hunting clothes or something keep up the good work!
My wife got me to play this with her, day 4 of playing and now that I’ve gotten decently geared im being a bit of a hoarder 😂
Literally was having to figure out what to drop today so I could jump 🤦♂️
Lmao! Yeah, that happens a lot. The game teaches you to use everything you find, and then you run out of space and dont want to depart with anything because it feels like you might need them.
Question which layout do you prefer he default control scheme or the new one?
one word perfect
been following this if you get what hes actually saying for about a month now and wow
I rarely to never carry food with me. Eat get it full, lasts ages. Keep water. Fishing is op, so very useful.
Sewing kit, leather, epoxy, plus duct tape.
Excelent vídeo thank you
Glad you liked it!
AlwaysStreams you mention being on a M&K server on console to combine medicines but you can do it on controller also. The difference in the process is you have to combine with the item in your hand instead of just dragging it on top with a mouse.
Yeah I'm aware, I play console/controller a lot but thank you! =]
Tbh, I don't know why I didn't add it in at the time of making but this comment will likely help someone in future!
Get good with semi and you will come out on top.
small addition, never put explosives/flashbangs in your nadeslots. put them into your pouches as soon as possible, they cant exlode there. thx to WOBO
hey buddy another great video ... this may sound like a silly question but how do you hip fire in this game??
Thank you, and not at all. Just don't aim down the sights before you fire =]
@@AlwaysStreams ty i changed my key bind to auto ads when pressing right click maybe i should change it back and get used to it.
do you have a discord server???
I keep my extra medial items in the Red Cross bag. Help limit the items and I also keep the spark plug in there.
Also protects whatever is in it from rain, so I like to keep matches or lighters in one.
8:12 Sorry for being THAT guy, but... Magazines. Lol
Video is two years old. You’re definitely that guy
Good suggestion tbf. A lot of time I keep mine on the quick select, it's easier for me to do it quicker =]
A lockpick is a necessity for me because i dont tote around a big ole pot, i leave that at base. That way when need be, I can cook my meat in a large oven in a locked up house. Yes, you can get past locked doors BUT you cant push without alerting me.
Yeah, a lockpick can definitely be useful. I'm still waiting for them to make it so we can lock cars xD
@@AlwaysStreams Vanilla really should have that ability.
I had the game about a year ago, deleted it for storage, but recently I got bored and re-downloaded it. I’ve just been playing on NWAF PvP servers, so I’ve focused mainly on ammo and weapons
I've been playing a lot of PVP myself, but my K/D is not very good atm ha
Just increase your base volume on your videos by like 10-15% and you'll be amazing!
I always have 2 blood packs made up in case I am attacked and need blood quickly.
What about epoxy putty? For vest and helmet's
I wish I could get that geared up
I have done the sameInventory Management, i have a picture of diferent type of inventory, like Medium Combat Gear, Sniper Gear, Recon Gear
That's cool. It's a fun little thing to balance up =]
yeah and make it look more aesthetic
Why can’t I store some weapons ? Only option I get is take to hold , thx
Are you guys operating out of a base or something? I’m very new to the game and at first glance it seems it’s typical to just spawn, play, die, very often without saving anything? Or is it like rust where you build a base to save items and spawn in, but can also be raided?
Yeah, you can build bases, or stashes. I have videos on it all. But you can be raided =]
@@AlwaysStreams I'm on console x1, I actually got it working. I just didn't know I could do that. I thought I was doomed to have 3 stacks of 20 MV.
The ammo/meds in clothes I did instinctively, I didn't know about the drop your bag mechanic. How long will your bag stay around if no one finds it?
Hourssss
@@AlwaysStreams That is a really nice thing to know. Thanks
Can you not rotate loot and “Tetris” your inventory?
This is a huge problem for me bc I spend a lot of time debating whether I should keep ammo for guns I don’t have or have 4 guns when I only need 1 rifle a handgun and a spray a pray
I usually keep ammo until I decide on which gun I'm going to aim for, then I'll get rid of the weaker stuff if I need the space =]
I know im late but when you say to carry a long rigle and an smg, could i replace the smg with an assault rifle? Like an m4 or m16
Yeah, definitely. I think I do that in the video tbh. Just something mid range and fast to contrast with the long range and slow =]
Is it a good idea to keep combat gear in containers Incase your clothing is ruined during a fight?
Only downside I see is if you are full inventory. When you reload it will dump the empty mag on the ground or not allow you to reload?
Yeah, if you have something available definitely, and it shouldn't do if I'm understanding you correctly =]
@@AlwaysStreams ok thanks 🙏
How do you stack items on xbox? I try putting them together onto one slot, but it doesn't work
Thank you!
Great tips but some don't help on dayz underground server lol
Im always bad for carrying too much ammo and mags and then not having enough medical items like bandages
It's fooken tedious as all hell m8, and if there is a way to actually organize your inventory(as opposed to just dropping things into tabs), I haven't figured it yet. v(·¬ ·)v
why smg and rifle to keep, shotguns cannot replace smgs?
I'm trying to get to the point, where I don't need backpack at all, because I too tend to carry around some useless stuff "I might need"...
Tbh, as long as you have decent clothing it is entirely possible
I have a bag full of ammo and I don't know what to do😅
I agree it was a good video, but do you or anybody know of a video that shows you how to place things in the correct order you want them specifically for PlayStation on PC people can just drag it and even flip them around that’s the video I was looking for if anyone could help meI would appreciate it
You need to use a mouse and keyboard to get that inventory system on PS.
@@AlwaysStreams holy shit man thanks I can’t believe how quick you read and answered I’ll give ya a follow just for that have a good one man! Thanks again!
@@maxkistner5095 thank you =]
You forgot one item (water bottle) for silent shooting
Anyone got tips for inventory management on console? Its such a drag (literally) to sort everything and half the time for some reason it doesnt even move it.
Just saw this 😂
YA , drop items and add them after your other items are organized together. This is how I do it, keep all mags together and all bullets after mags. Only issue is after a fight you have to fix it all.
idk how but i have like 1700 hours over 3 years and i never knew you can stack bandages smh
Another thing to look for and keep is a bottle of Vodka, if the time is right it can work in your favour, say goodbye to your post apocalyptic liver though
I think that's good real life advice tbh
@@AlwaysStreams Ofcourse I carry a bottle everwhere though, too much questions though. Why are you drinking and driving? Ugh Officer, MuLItiTaSkINg
Do bandages stack? I tried on console and it would not let me.
They patched it out again sadly
