In the same scene when the camera pans up, the quote was removed from the billboard and just says Monsters. Inc instead. 0:26 The “Scarer of the Month” text was replaced with the company logo, the months were removed from the picture frames and the images have a trophy edited on them. 0:35 From top to bottom: The “Children Scared” panel is replaced with a screaming kid. All of the monsters’ names were removed and their scores were moved to the left with a green bar filling the empty space. 0:55 The “STANDBY” and “SCARE” lights are replaced with respective symbols. 1:11 The contamination warning message was replaced with a stick figure on a hazard symbol. 1:23 The same applies to the news headline, but with inverted colors. 1:31 The top and bottom text was replaced with colored faces, and a tall monster hitting a smaller monster with a hammer was added.
I'm surprised they didn't keep the original explosion scene in for the international. If you don't know the scene with the green force field was originally intended to be them blowing the building up however this was changed due to 9/11 as that happened only 2 months before the movies planned release but I'm surprised they didn't keep it for the international as the international audience wouldn't be as affected by the event
I live in Memphis, Tennessee in the United States of America and it's the "Don't stalk" and the "Stalk" sign, the "We're Monsters, Inc!" sign, the "September" picture frame sign, the "Scare total" sign, the "Warning: Contamnination alert" sign, the "Kid-Tastrophe!" sign, and the "Scare laugh" sign!
I find it interesting that they change all of the text on screen to pictograms or remove it entirely. I guess it’s easier than replacing it every time to match each foreign dub. Some lines of text like “kid-tastrophe” might be hard to translate also
@@LittleGreenAlienit's a reference to how they do countdowns on live TV productions - the camera typically goes live at "1" so the person prompting the actors doesn't say it so it doesn't get heard by the viewers
