    3/8 of a mile is 1,980 feet divided by 9.465 seconds = 209.19 feet per second = 142.63 miles per hour AVERAGE speed

      Doesn't seem like he lifted at all which is crazy! The big wing on the left side helps give him the grip and downforce allowing him to go flat

      @@shorttrackthing6919 Oops! Thanks for that clarification. I just thought because the outlaw body has a wedged shape, that wedge late model was just a visually accurate, but not the technical term for an outlaw late model. :)

    • @luketrottier9388
      @luketrottier9388 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@shorttrackthing6919 I'm surprised I didn't notice how it was topless. I watch lots of template bodied asphalt super late model racing, it's my favourite kind of racing. But not much outlaw stuff, besides the odd marquee race. Maybe sometimes wedge late models are incorrectly called outlaws, or maybe wedge is a variant or sub-type of outlaw super late? I also see sometimes they are called winged outlaws, but not sure if that is the correct technical term.
      Just from a quick image search, it looks like mostly everything I see with the open top and sometimes winged is on dirt. I know this here is asphalt, though.

      Of course he wouldn't be nearly as fast. You can go see him try it without all that shit and all kinds of people. Hell go watch the Kalamazoo Clash, or ANY other outlaw super late model asphalt race ever. Obviously what some people find fun to do on a special occasion and add billboards or other things to try to make the car faster for some hot laps isn't for you. Since you want to see regular, slower outlaw late models, search and watch it.

      @luketrottier9388 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Chill out, fun killer. The whole point of that is to have fun and run what ya brung. Of course you don't normally run with a huge billboard on your car, and of course you will be much slower and less stable without it

      @regdor8187 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@luketrottier9388 : well then, if this is just for fun with no common rules, then "World Record" is pure BS and deceptive....

    • @luketrottier9388
      @luketrottier9388 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@regdor8187 What do you want? It's not the outlaw body super late model asphalt time trial world record for a race. It's not a pro late model hot lap record. It's simply the world record for the fastest lap in general. If you don't have a big billboard attached to your outlaw late model, obviously you aren't comparing your fastest lap to a completely different vehicle. Just like you wouldn't compare the fastest legend car or bandelero car time trial lap to a winged sprint car's fastest lap. Maybe you get upset or vehemently don't give a shit what the fastest time for a vehicle to travel around the circuit is, but some people find it interesting. They could also instead do the event where nothing is timed and people just watch. But believe it or not some people find stats fun, and some people like to know just how fast they managed to make that frankenstein go. It ain't that serious, but you seem pretty triggered by it. And it's a youtube title to begin with, but yes at the time I believe it was a world record, and I believe it still is. It is not the ONLY record, or world record.
      Hell, do you think that an amputee with only one leg, and a crutch is going to score themselves directly compared to someone on tons of performance enhancing drugs who is a professional runner with two legs? No, of course not. Do you think an 8 year old will compare his times to a 33 year old? Both competitive, elite runners for their age bracket. No, of course not. You have things like fastest under 10 year old lap, fastest under 17 year old lap, fastest bandelero car lap, fastest lap turned in a race, blah blah blah. Some people are curious about what the fastest lap ever was in general, of any type. Whether it's a terminator robot sent from the future by skynet or a winged sprint car or a sausage with hairy legs and a 50 foot billboard sticking out of it's rear end.
      There is a rule. You bring whatever you want, and you try to turn the fastest lap you can. Why can't it be for fun and be timed? Why can't a race be fun and competitive? This is competitive, it's trying to get a faster time than another person. It's also for fun. And it's light hearted. I don't know what is bullshit and deception to you. Did someone explain to you that this is a guaranteed standardized event where everyone drives the same template vehicle, and meets the same specs? No. As a matter of fact every little detail about the event that the track provides and advertises is the fact that you RUN WHATEVER YOU MAKE AND BRING, provided it is on top of an outlaw bodied late model. There is zero deception, and why is it bullshit? Because it isn't what you personally prefer or like? Look at Nascar's origins, it was all modifieds. And they were all wildly different, vastly different chassis, vastly different speeds, no type of standardization at all. It's a throwback to the origins of the sport, if anything, and fosters innovation and creativity for a fun event. I get you don't like it, I don't know why it makes you so triggered.

      I wonder if he he was running "NOS"? Or some nitro in the fuel? It doesn't matter to me, I wouldn't want to go as fast as he did on 3/8 mile track! That dude can DRIVE!!!!

    • @luketrottier9388
      @luketrottier9388 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mikenodine6713 yeah, I would be fucking terrified, lol. And I can't say for sure, but I am almost sure that nothing was used that isn't permitted in a regular race, except for the body differences (the billboard wing). You can be pretty creative, but tires, fuel, etc. Are all standardized and the same for everyone.
