I wish fans would get the narrative on Carson correct. This is a dude that was the #2 a few years back before they decided to let the sure handed vet (Stetson) take care of UAB. We saw how that story went. I don’t know if people understand how close those Stetson teams were going to be Carson’s. However unlike 99% of players today, he stayed, grinded, and worked. He saw 2 national championships that he could’ve been the QB of and then when he gets his chance he goes undefeated in the regular season. His BEST weapons Brock and Ladd were significantly hurt and they lose by 3 to a Superman Milroe performance and boom they are gone. Decides to come back to finish the drill, gets all the heat, all the criticism (a lot deservingly so), had a tough middle of the season, and still led this team to an SEC championship. It breaks my heart that he worked this hard, stayed this long, to potentially go out like this. We as Georgia fans owe A LOT to Carson and he should FOREVER be remembered as DGD. As fans, let’s get this narrative right about him. Hope God blesses him and his recovery.
Yes, well said! Also facing the best teams the conference had to offer. Any one would have struggled in that situation. Hopefully in the next 3 weeks we'll get good news and Colby young will be able to come back and play in the bowl game and maybe Branson Robinson and Roderick Robinson will have time to get healthy so we will have a fully healthy running back room to start the playoffs
It's because the majority of the crowd are born and raised in GA. They watch and follow GA high-school football. Gunner Stockton is a GA boy who balled in high-school and UGA fans heard it and saw it for 4 years. Carson is a FL boy. The fanbase erupted for the hometown boy, just like Stetson was.
Carson was our guy last year, but we had two rock stars to smooth out his jagged edges. This year Carson didn't really have anyone like that to throw to, he just wasn't the same this year. ETN is amazing, but its a receiver or tight end. Gunner looked good during that game, 12/16 for someone who didn't expect to play is really amazing. I think Gunner needs to shake off the nerves fast or else whoever we fight in the Sugar Bowl will take us down. Either way it looks like we have a good possible QB1 for next year which is very important.
Maybe it's already been said somewhere in these comments but I truly believe Gunner Stockton is just a bigger stronger version of a Stetson Bennett. They have the playbook already and do not have to rewrite anything. That playbook WON 2 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS! Guess it's a good thing Bobo was part of that offensive staff huh?! Go DAWGS!!
If Beck is indeed out, Mike Bobo is going to maximize Gunner's ability to run. That'll pay huge dividends in my opinion. The mere threat of a running QB might just open up some deep shot opportunities that have largely been absent for weeks. Better get Puglisi ready, too. Just in case.
People just seemed absolutely dumbfounded that Gunners Stockton had success like he had, people don't understand that he was a highly recruited four-star quarterback and set numerous High School records in the state of Georgia, he was the number to overall dual-threat quarterback in his class so definitely the kid has talent
Lot of people don't know that Mike Bobo has known Gunners stocked and since he was 8 years old Gunner was actually slated to go to South Carolina when Mike Bobo was the offensive coordinator there and then when Bobo came to Georgia Gunner decommitted from South Carolina and committed to Georgia.. Bubba will have no problem in 3 weeks creating an offense with Gunner he's been planning for this all along

Malik Murphy at Duke entered. He is a 1st rd QB in the right system to me. Taking him ensures you have 2 QB going into next season with guys who have regular season success and hopefully post season success.
The thing I love about the bye with Gunnar preparing as the starter is they can diversify that QB run game and not just run Wildcat plays with him instead of a RB. That will be huge
“This kids a winner man, this kids special, he’s a winner”. *Kirby crying his eyes out* I don’t think gunner will be the nfl qb that Beck will be but I do believe he’ll win multiple NC for Georgia and go down as a legend just like Stetson.
People don't seem to understand that right now in Athens there are no classes going on so if Carson wants to rehab his elbow 20 hours a day for the next 23 days he can do that
I wanna start off this conversation with thank you for your channel because you give me more depth of understanding on football overall. What I will say is pre-and post snaps reads will be important for gunner Stockton. If he can have quick ball release, I feel very good with him from what I did get to see of him he can put some heat on the ball that was something I always felt like when we tend to throw up the middle with Beck made the passes a little more risky was there wasn’t always that fire on the ball However Beck’s release because he played baseball or comes from a baseball background is incredibly fast. The last thing that I absolutely love about gunner Stockton is that he can scramble on the third and short downs that we have continued to fail throughout this entire season. I’ll be at. It’s not just Beck‘s fault. It’s the fact that our wide receivers don’t get separation however it gives us a different dynamic that I think will be Advantageous in the postseason. Remember we are getting a healthy run room finally really first time this season. Just hit up Todd monken he’s got the plays.
Go back and look at what Ray Goff did as a running qb and incorporate some of that style of football in the game plan. The great news, Gunner is a much better passer. This should be fun to watch.
Regardless Gunner is the guy right now. Whether Carson can return sometime. Both need to be in the QB room when Carson can return but I’d concentrate on Gunner.
It would be a mistake to overlook the ND defense against a QB starting his first game if the Irish are the ones to advance. Georgia looks very vulnerable. But, it's Georgia, so....
Brooks, Maalik Murphy went in.. this is someone UGA was VERY interested in last year. Do we think they get in the mix and risk showing “non”-confidence in Gunner or do you think they sit on their hands with QBs until the season is over?
But what if the 6-foot Stockton goes down to injury? Then what? We're not as loaded at QB as we were in the past. You can't have enough quarterbacks. You really need 3. Beck is 6-4 and is very valuable to this team.
You know, it just hit me. They said these ridiculous things against Tommie Frazier back in the mid 90s. And he only came back and won two national championships!!! So take that!
He has been consistently bad all season. He does not know how to check down and his decisions are erratic. The only reason we are where we are is because of our defense. Let's see what Gunner has which I think is more than Beck.
@@1bcordell😂 which defense? The one that got smoked by Bama? The one who gave up 500 yards to Tech? The defense what got ran all over by Umass?? The defense hasn’t been great this year….but there’s been times they have. Just like the entire offense, there’s been times where they’ve been very good. To say Beck has been “consistently bad” is laughable. You can’t lead the SEC in TD’s and be “consistently bad”
If you'd actually listen to what Kirby Smart said he kind of let you know what next year's depth chart was going to start like because when asked about the final play of the game and when Gunnar had to come out after his helmet was knocked off Kirby Smart told the interviewer that he was under the impression that Ryan puglisi was going to come in and play the next down and then over the headset he was told that Carson could come in with no problem and hand off the football so that would not be an issue, but why would Kirby say that Ryan puglisi would come in and relief of Gunner Stockton for that one play unless he was slated to be Stockton's back up
I’ll say this: Gunner is like Stetson, I can agree with people who compare them but as a runner it’s a physical running type. Stetson was like an elusive runner in my mind. I like the Baker comparison.
Due to experience, I would rather have Beck at QB....but I think Gunner is more than capable of leading GA to win the Natty. It all comes down to play calling and execution. I think sometimes Bobo is way too conservative in his play calling, trying not to lose the game instead of trying to win the game. The second half is when he has to call plays to try to win the game because GA is often down in the first half of many games due to the conservative first-half play calling.
Guys.Everyone is crazy. Stockton has been practicing with ones as much as Carson all year. He has been lighting it up. He made one bad throw in the sec. He just didn’t throw it out of bounds. The other issues in my opinion is BoBo trying to be fancy deep in our own territory. Gunner has dual threat capabilities which is what we have needed to win Nattys. We looked the same without Stetson. Stetson brought dual threat ability. We need that in our offense. Bottom line.
They did the same thing with Brett Thorson they would let you know immediately if it was season ending and he required surgery, nowhere in any statement was surgery spoken about, and it wasn't that his family was seeking further information the official statement from Georgia said the family of Carson Beck were looking for alternate treatment options, and there was no timetable at the moment for his return, I honestly believe if they knew it was going to be season ending that they would have put it out the same way they did with Thorensen... one thing they might be doing is trying to get an advantage over whoever they play between Indiana and Notre Dame because right now the winner of that team would have no idea who to plan for at the moment and another Advantage for Georgia is there's not a lot of tape on Gunner Stockton for any of these teams to actually go back and study
I don't want to hear about mechanics, those can always be fixed all you need is a great quarterback coach to work with him, they do it at the NFL level all the time
The other teams on the side of the bracket whether it's tennessee, oregon, Ohio State none of those teams this year have played a team that has quality athletic defenses like Georgia
What about Malik Murphy? No way the QB competition for 25 is over. It may be Gunnar, but that ain’t settled yet. Rashida will put on 15-20lbs. It’s gonna be decided in the spring imho unless Gunnar wins us 2 games in the playoff and plays well in the natty. Slow that roll bruh
@@therealmichaelgrahamyeah, that's why Gunner came in and played the 2nd half. And Kirby said he assumed when Gunner had to come out ,Puglisi would be the guy . That means Rashada wasn't #2 behind Beck.
I still think he has obvious limitations. But I'm also hopeful that whatever offense he's running right now is NOTHING like the offense that will be catered to him come the Sugar Bowl. He's not gonna look good in Carson's system. He needs to have 10 to 15 designed QB runs per game. His stat line needs to look like 200 yards passing 70 yards rushing and the team rushing for 180 yards. They will win a lot of games playing that way.
@@rodhayes7777 yeah a lot of drops but still... His 1st half dud vs Bama... Did nothing vs Texas game 1 then even less game 2 and a rough game vs ole miss. I'll take some rushing ability and unpredictability of Gunner just hope he doesn't sail ducks into the secondary
@@rodhayes7777I agree he did have some bad receivers but he also made a lot of bad decisions. If it wasn’t for all the dropped passes his stats would look a lot better but he still would’ve had a lot of picks
@@codygatti8358most of those picks were because of receivers tipping the ball up and being intercepted, or the receiver ran the wrong route and the ball was placed to a spot the receiver was supposed to be.
Y'all seem to speak a lot and don't say a lot. Maybe talk about the elephant in the room. I'm surprised FSU fans are not LIVID that UGA lost their starting QB, lost 2 games in the regular season, but got a #2 seed with a bye in the CFP. Meanwhile, LAST YEAR the CFPC decided that FSU lost their starting QB, went 13-0, won their Conference Championship, but was denied a place in the CFP. Maybe you need to chew on that for awhile. Maybe they need to kick UGA out and put Bama in (JK about that, but you see my point - maybe). Either way, this is more of the same SEC / ESPN bias that the entire CFB universe continues to have to face every year. Nothing will change until we have a 64-team CFP like in BBall, but even then, the SEC will whine because they don't get the top 16 seeds.
Call Dabo and see if he'll let FSU take Clemsux's spot then. Y'all don't deserve to be in the CFP either. ACC is a joke if a conference. Your schedules out you outside the top 30 in strength if schedule. UGA's SOS was #2. And if memory serves me, y'all got beat down 30-3 by them Dawgs !
Carson has his gifts and i love my Dawg. However Gunner has that MOJO. If you ever seen combat as I have nothing raises the level of the man next to you like a man willing to lay out for you. Gunner Forever
Gunner Stockton threw for 13,652 yards in Highschool. He currently still sits 3rd all time passing yards in Georgia. Less than 300 yards behind Trevor Lawrence's all time yards. The kid can throw the ball AND run which opens up the pass. I just suggest looking at his past before saying he can't do something and receivers "won't like to play with him" when you obviously know nothing about him or his history. He needs to speed his release for sure but that can improve with game experience.
You're wrong. Stockton came in against the #1 defense in the country and took us down the field for a TD. He put us in a place to win the game . We'll let the coaches decide who's the starter and back up his decisions.
So I know he’s a good, physical runner, but it worries me that we won’t be able to use the other weapons around him. It sounds like you’re saying he’s limited in his throwing ability, so do we keep it all 15 yards and in for him, remove the deep balls?
Yeah, not much if a passer. Considering he hold all the Ga HS passing records. He blew Justin Fields records into the weeds. And can accurately drop 70 yarders all day !
Nah, he got that big payday and a guaranteed starting job. Didn't have to sit behind 2-3 other guys ,work his butt off grinding at every practice. Had it all handed to him. But he'll never play for a title at Nebraska. That's his decision.
Not much tape on him. Let everyone guess what his capabilities are. And also wonder if Beck will be able to come back and play. Means more work for any future opponents.
Here is the 1000th time this bad take has been repeated and shot down. This year is a 12-team playoff. If this system had been in place last year, both FSU and Georgia would have gotten in.

Arnold didn't look like a gamechanger to me
We UGA fans have seen this story before.
Big arm gunslinger wb goes down.
Smaller scrappy mobile Ga born qb steps in.
Worked out well in the past
I don't want to hear about mechanics, those can always be fixed all you need is a great quarterback coach to work with him, they do it at the NFL level all the time
Brooks, why is no one talking about Rashada? Did i miss something? Dude is a killer
On another note, looks like we won't be getting Colbie Young back no time soon
He’s done son
The film guy look sweet
I mean is there any kind of mechanics coach they can get to shorten that delivery up some
Is there a scenario where Beck comes back due to this injury or does he go on to the draft regardless?
Thoughts on Malik Murphy?
The other teams on the side of the bracket whether it's tennessee, oregon, Ohio State none of those teams this year have played a team that has quality athletic defenses like Georgia
Tennessee has played UGA. We were one of 2 teams to score more than 20 points on them. Their defense is one of the best in the country.
@thomasblankinship98 i know, i messed up i mainly meant Oregon, Penn State and Ohio State...sorry..
Dont put your hopes too high, that new Qb could be Milroe 2.0😮
When players were asked ‘what Georgia teammate they would let date their sister’ it was Gunner Stockton 😀
Hell what about Rashada? Dude is a baller
@@therealmichaelgrahamhe was against lesser competition in the PAC 12.
A.smith actually caught a pass was it because is gunner
What if Beck uses his COVID Eligibility? Law from BAMA?
Who is the backup too gunner?
Ryan Puglisi
@@michaelshannon6558not rashada?
@ ok thanks
Rashada, the transfer is probably ahead of Puglisi, and imo is the best qb behind Beck
@@therealmichaelgrahamyeah, that's why Gunner came in and played the 2nd half. And Kirby said he assumed when Gunner had to come out ,Puglisi would be the guy . That means Rashada wasn't #2 behind Beck.
Brooks, why’d you flip the script on Stockton? You weren’t so high on him earlier this year. Not a gotcha, just an honest question.
@ thank you sir
Beck needs to move on!
Carson does get a Covid year....
Wait, first?
malik murphy but i digress
Haven't seen his name on the UGA roster!
Georgias regular season was harder then the playoffs and beck wasnt anything special vs any big teams
Give him '03's WRs, and he does much better than he did this year through 12 games.
65-3
Call Dabo and see if he'll let FSU take Clemsux's spot then. Y'all don't deserve to be in the CFP either. ACC is a joke if a conference. Your schedules out you outside the top 30 in strength if schedule. UGA's SOS was #2. And if memory serves me, y'all got beat down 30-3 by them Dawgs !
Carson has his gifts and i love my Dawg. However Gunner has that MOJO. If you ever seen combat as I have nothing raises the level of the man next to you like a man willing to lay out for you. Gunner Forever
We just got probably got our best wr recruiting class ever. I dont think they'll be overly enthusiastic to play for gunner starting next year
Why do you think that
Yeah you don’t know ball
@@edwindadon he's not the type of passer for a wide open type of offense like this year
@@Jaret-Godawgs & you do?
Gunner Stockton threw for 13,652 yards in Highschool. He currently still sits 3rd all time passing yards in Georgia. Less than 300 yards behind Trevor Lawrence's all time yards. The kid can throw the ball AND run which opens up the pass. I just suggest looking at his past before saying he can't do something and receivers "won't like to play with him" when you obviously know nothing about him or his history. He needs to speed his release for sure but that can improve with game experience.
If Gunner is the QB we’re screwed
We need them both....the 6-4 Beck and the 6-0 Stockton
Yup you are
You're wrong. Stockton came in against the #1 defense in the country and took us down the field for a TD. He put us in a place to win the game . We'll let the coaches decide who's the starter and back up his decisions.
@@thomasblankinship98 lmao he couldn’t score or complete a pass after that
So I know he’s a good, physical runner, but it worries me that we won’t be able to use the other weapons around him.
@ oh I did not know this. I just keep hearing he has limitations.. but like what are they? Haha
I wonder if Raiola wished he had come to uga and could be playing for a national champion?
Nah, he got that big payday and a guaranteed starting job. Didn't have to sit behind 2-3 other guys ,work his butt off grinding at every practice. Had it all handed to him. But he'll never play for a title at Nebraska. That's his decision.
Gunner Stockton tape please!
Not much tape on him. Let everyone guess what his capabilities are. And also wonder if Beck will be able to come back and play. Means more work for any future opponents.
There not saying because they are in the playoffs
Third
Second
Short answer: GA isn’t winning a National Title with Stockton, sorry. They may not win a gm.
Florida St went undefeated and qb got hurt and they didnt make playoffs so maybe GA shouldnt get in now? 🤔
We literally beat the #2 team and won the sec championship with the backup lol
Here is the 1000th time this bad take has been repeated and shot down. This year is a 12-team playoff. If this system had been in place last year, both FSU and Georgia would have gotten in.
@@DrMorpheusand UGA would have 3 Natties B2 B 2 B !
